⁵ I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, By the roes, or by the hinds of the field, That ye stir not up, nor awake my love, Until he please.

⁶ Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness Like pillars of smoke, Perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, With all powders of the merchant?

⁷ Behold, it is the litter of Solomon; Threescore mighty men are about it, Of the mighty men of Israel.

⁸ They all handle the sword, and are expert in war: Every man hath his sword upon his thigh, Because of fear in the night.

⁹ King Solomon made himself a palanquin Of the wood of Lebanon.

¹⁰ He made the pillars thereof of silver, The bottom thereof of gold, the seat of it of purple, The midst thereof being paved with love, From the daughters of Jerusalem.

¹¹ Go forth, O ye daughters of Zion, and behold king Solomon, With the crown wherewith his mother hath crowned him In the day of his espousals, And in the day of the gladness of his heart.

⁵ I have charged you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the powers and by the virtues of the field, that ye rouse not nor awake my love, until he please.

⁵ You women of Jerusalem, solemnly promise me, while the does and gazelles are listening, that you will not disturb us while we are making love until we are ready to quit.

⁶ Who is it that is coming from the desert, who is stirring up dust like a column of smoke from burning myrrh and incense made from spices imported by merchants?

⁷ It is Solomon, sitting in his portable chair surrounded by sixty bodyguards chosen from the strongest/greatest warriors in Israel.

⁸ They all have swords and they all ◄are trained to/know well how to► use them. Each one has his sword strapped to his side and is prepared to defend Solomon from dangers that might occur even during the night.

⁹ King Solomon commanded his servants to make that portable chair for him; it was made with wood from Lebanon.

¹⁰ The canopy that covered it was ◄held up/supported► by posts made of silver, and the back of the chair was embroidered with gold. The seat/cushion was covered with purple cloth lovingly made/woven by the women of Jerusalem.

¹¹ You women of Jerusalem, come and look at King Solomon wearing the headdress that his mother put on his head on the day when he was married, the day when he SYN was very happy.

⁷ See, it is the bed of Solomon; sixty men of war are about it, of the army of Israel,

⁸ All of them armed with swords, trained in war; every man has his sword at his side, because of fear in the night.

⁹ King Solomon made himself a bed of the wood of Lebanon.

¹⁰ He made its pillars of silver, its base of gold, its seat of purple, the middle of it of ebony.

¹¹ Go out, O daughters of Jerusalem, and see King Solomon, with the crown which his mother put on his head on the day when he was married, and on the day of the joy of his heart.

⁸ They all hold the sword, Experts in war; Each hath his sword upon his thigh Because of alarm in the nights.

⁹ King Solomon made himself a palanquin Of the wood of Lebanon.

¹⁰ Its pillars he made of silver, Its support of gold, Its seat of purple; The midst thereof was paved with love By the daughters of Jerusalem.

¹¹ Go forth, daughters of Zion, And behold king Solomon With the crown wherewith his mother crowned him In the day of his espousals, And in the day of the gladness of his heart.

⁵ I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes and the harts of the fields, that you stir not up, nor awake my beloved, till she please.

⁶ Who is she that goeth up by the desert, as a pillar of smoke of aromatical spices, of myrrh, and frankincense, and of all the powders of the perfumer?

⁷ Behold threescore valiant ones of the most valiant of Israel, surrounded the bed of Solomon?

⁸ All holding swords, and most expert in war: every man’s sword upon his thigh, because of fears in the night.

⁹ King Solomon hath made him a litter of the wood of Libanus:

¹⁰ The pillars thereof he made of silver, the seat of gold, the going up of purple: the midst he covered with charity for the daughters of Jerusalem.

¹¹ Go forth, ye daughters of Sion, and see king Solomon in the diadem, wherewith his mother crowned him in the day of his espousals, and in the day of the joy of his heart.

⁵ Women of Jerusalem, swear to me by the gazelles or the wild deer that you won't disturb our love until the right time.

⁶ Who is this coming in from the wilderness like a plume of smoke, like a burning sacrifice scented with myrrh and frankincense, with all kinds of imported perfumed powders?

⁷ Look, it's Solomon's sedan chair, accompanied by sixty of Israel's best warriors.

⁸ All of them are expert swordsmen who have battle experience. They each carry a sword strapped to the thigh, ready for any night-time attacks.

⁹ (Solomon's sedan chair was made for him with wood from Lebanon.

¹⁰ Its posts were covered in silver, and the back was covered in gold. The seat cushion was purple. The interior was lovingly decorated.) Women of Jerusalem,

¹¹ come out! Look, women of Zion! See King Solomon wearing the crown that his mother placed on his head on his wedding day, his happiest day.

⁵ I charge you, O daughters of Ierusalem, by the roes and by the hindes of the fielde, that ye stirre not vp, nor waken my loue vntill she please.

⁶ Who is shee that commeth vp out of the wildernes like pillars of smoke perfumed with myrrhe and incense, and with all the spices of the marchant?

⁷ Beholde his bed, which is Salomons: threescore strong men are round about it, of the valiant men of Israel.

⁸ They all handle the sworde, and are expert in warre, euery one hath his sword vpon his thigh for the feare by night.

⁹ King Salomon made himselfe a palace of the trees of Lebanon.

¹⁰ Hee made the pillars thereof of siluer, and the pauement thereof of gold, the hangings thereof of purple, whose middes was paued with the loue of the daughters of Ierusalem.

¹¹ Come forth, ye daughters of Zion, and behold the King Salomon with the crowne, wherewith his mother crowned him in ye day of his mariage, and in the day of the gladnes of his heart.

¹¹ Go forth, and look, O ye daughters of Zion, on king Solomon, with the crown wherewith his mother hath crowned him on the day of his espousals, and on the day of the joy in his heart.

⁵ I want you to swear, daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles and the does of the fields, that you will not awaken or arouse love until she pleases.

⁷ Look, it is the bed of Solomon; sixty warriors surround it, sixty soldiers of Israel.

⁸ All of them are skilled with a sword and are experienced in warfare. Every man has his sword at his side, armed against the terrors of the night.

⁹ King Solomon made himself a sedan chair of the wood from Lebanon.

¹⁰ Its posts were made of silver; the back was made of gold, and the seat of purple cloth. Its interior was decorated with love by the daughters of Jerusalem.

¹¹ Go out, daughters of Zion, and gaze on King Solomon, bearing the crown with which his mother crowned him on his wedding day, on the day of the joy of his heart.

⁶ Who is this woman, that goeth up by the desert, as a rod of smoke of sweet smelling spices, of myrrh, and of incense, and of all powder of an ointment maker?

⁷ Lo! sixty strong men of the strongest men of Israel encompass the bed of Solomon;

⁸ and all they hold swords, and be most witting to battles; the sword of each man is on his hip, for the dread of nights.

⁹ King Solomon made to him a seat, of the wood of Lebanon;

¹⁰ he made the pillars thereof of silver; he made a golden resting place, a going up of purple; and he arrayed the middle things with charity, for the daughters of Jerusalem.

¹¹ Ye daughters of Zion, go out, and see king Solomon in the diadem, with which his mother crowned him, in the day of his espousing, and in the day of the gladness of his heart.

⁵ Ye daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you greatly, by the caprets, and harts of fields, that ye raise not, neither make to awake the dearworthy spousess, till she will. ⁶ Who is this woman, that goeth up by the desert, as a rod of smoke of sweet smelling spices, of myrrh, and of incense, and of all powder of an ointment maker? (Who is this woman, who goeth up by the desert, like a column of smoke of sweet smelling spices, yea, of myrrh, and of incense, and of all the powders of a perfume maker?)

⁷ Lo! sixty strong men of the strongest men of Israel compass the bed of Solomon; (Behold! sixty strong men of the strongest of Israel surround, (or protect), Solomon in his bed;)

⁹ A palanquin king Solomon made for himself, Of the wood of Lebanon,

¹⁰ Its pillars he made of silver, Its bottom of gold, its seat of purple, Its midst lined with love, By the daughters of Jerusalem.

¹¹ Go forth, and look, ye daughters of Zion, On king Solomon, with the crown, With which his mother crowned him, In the day of his espousals, And in the day of the joy of his heart!
