¹ I am a rose of Sharon, A lily of the valleys.

² As a lily among thorns, So is my love among the daughters.

³ As the apple-tree among the trees of the wood, So is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, And his fruit was sweet to my taste.

⁴ He brought me to the banqueting-house, And his banner over me was love.

⁵ Stay ye me with raisins, refresh me with apples; For I am sick from love.

⁶ His left hand is under my head, And his right hand doth embrace me.

⁷ I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, By the roes, or by the hinds of the field, That ye stir not up, nor awake my love, Until he please.

¹ I am a flower of the plain, a lily of the valleys.

² As a lily among thorns, so is my companion among the daughters.

³ As the apple among the trees of the wood, so is my kinsman among the sons. I desired his shadow, and sat down, and his fruit was sweet in my throat.

⁴ Bring me into the wine house; set love before me.

⁵ Strengthen me with perfumes, stay me with apples: for I am wounded with love.

⁶ His left hand shall be under my head, and his right hand shall embrace me.

⁷ I have charged you, ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the powers and by the virtues of the field, that ye do not rouse or wake my love, until he please.

¹ I am like MET a flower/rose from the Sharon Plain, and like MET a lily that grows in a valley.

² Among the other young women, the one whom I love is like MET a lily growing among thorns!

³ And among the other men, you, the man who loves me, are like MET an apple/fruit tree that grows in the forest. You are like a tree whose shadow protects me from the sun, and your being close to me EUP is like MET eating sweet fruit.

⁴ You led me to the ◄banquet room/room where we could make love►, and it is evident that you love me very much.

⁵ Refresh me and strengthen me with your lovemaking like I am refreshed by eating MET, EUP raisins and other fruit, because I very much desire that you love me even more.

⁶ Put your left arm under my head and with your right arm hold me close.

⁷ You young women of Jerusalem, solemnly promise me, while the does and gazelles are listening, that you will not disturb us while we are making love until we are ready to quit.

¹ I'm just a flower from the plain of Sharon, a lily found in the valleys.

² Just as a lily stands out among the brambles, so you, my darling, stand out among other women.

³ My love is like an apple tree among the forest trees, compared to other young men. I love to sit down in his shade and his fruit tastes sweet to me.

⁴ He took me to drink of his wine, wanting to show his love for me.

⁵ Feed me raisins to give me energy, give me apples to revive me, for love has made me weak!

⁶ He supports my head with his left hand, and holds me close with his right.

⁷ Women of Jerusalem, swear to me by the gazelles or the wild deer that you won't disturb our love until the right time.

² Like a lilie amog the thornes, so is my loue among the daughters.

³ Like the apple tree among the trees of the forest, so is my welbeloued among the sonnes of men: vnder his shadow had I delite, and sate downe: and his fruite was sweete vnto my mouth.

⁴ Hee brought mee into the wine cellar, and loue was his banner ouer me.

⁵ Stay me with flagons, and comfort me with apples: for I am sicke of loue.

⁶ His left hande is vnder mine head, and his right hand doeth imbrace me.

⁷ I charge you, O daughters of Ierusalem, by the roes and by the hindes of the fielde, that ye stirre not vp, nor waken my loue, vntill she please.

⁴ The king led me into the wine cellar; he ordained charity in me (or he ordained his love upon me).

⁵ Beset ye me with flowers, compass ye me with apples; for I am sick for love. (Put ye flowers about me, yea, surround ye me with apple blossoms; for I am weak, or I faint, because of love.)

⁶ His left hand is under mine head; and his right hand shall embrace me.

⁷ Ye daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you greatly, by caprets, and harts of fields, that ye raise not, neither make to awake the dearworthy spousess, till she will. (Ye daughters of Jerusalem, I strongly command you, by the gazelles, and the harts of the fields, that ye raise not up, nor awaken the dearworthy spousess, until she desireth it.)
