² Preserve my soul; for I am godly: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee.

³ Be merciful unto me, O Lord; For unto thee do I cry all the day long.

⁴ Rejoice the soul of thy servant; For unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.

⁵ For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in lovingkindness unto all them that call upon thee.

⁶ Give ear, O Jehovah, unto my prayer; And hearken unto the voice of my supplications.

² The Lord loves the gates of Sion, more than all the tabernacles of Jacob.

³ Glorious things have been spoken of thee, O city of God. Pause.

⁴ I will make mention of Raab and Babylon to them that know me: behold also the Philistines, and Tyre, and the people of the Ethiopians: these were born there.

⁵ A man shall say, Sion is my mother; and such a man was born in her; and the Highest himself has founded her.

⁶ The Lord shall recount it in the writing of the people, and of these princes that were born in her. Pause.

⁴ I will be mindful of Rahab and of Babylon knowing me. Behold the foreigners, and Tyre, and the people of the Ethiopians, these were there.

⁵ Shall not Sion say: This man and that man is born in her? and the Highest himself hath founded her.

⁶ The Lord shall tell in his writings of peoples and of princes, of them that have been in her.

² Don't let me die, for I am faithful to you. Save me, for I am your servant and I trust in you. You are my God.

³ Be kind to me, Lord, for I call out to you all day long.

⁴ Make me happy, Lord, for I've dedicated my life to you.

⁵ For you, Lord, are good; you are forgiving and full of trustworthy love for all who come to you.

⁶ Lord, please listen to my prayer. Hear my call for help.

² Preserue thou my soule, for I am mercifull: my God, saue thou thy seruant, that trusteth in thee.

³ Be mercifull vnto me, O Lord: for I crie vpon thee continually.

⁴ Reioyce the soule of thy seruant: for vnto thee, O Lord, doe I lift vp my soule.

⁵ For thou, Lord, art good and mercifull, and of great kindenes vnto all them, that call vpon thee.

⁶ Giue eare, Lord, vnto my prayer, and hearken to the voyce of my supplication.

² Keep thou my life, for I am holy; my God, make thou safe thy servant hoping in thee. (Keep thou my life safe, for I am holy; my God, save thou thy servant, who trusteth in thee.)

³ Lord, have thou mercy on me, for I cried all day (long) to thee;

⁴ make thou glad the soul of thy servant; for why, Lord, I have raised my soul to thee. (make glad thy servant’s soul; for Lord, I have raised up my soul to thee.)

⁵ For thou, Lord, art sweet and mild; and of much mercy to all men inwardly calling thee. (For thou, Lord, art good and forgiving; and hath great love for all who call to thee or and hath great mercy for all who cry to thee.)
