Psalms 81:10-15 in English

¹⁰ I am Jehovah thy God, Who brought thee up out of the land of Egypt: Open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

¹¹ But my people hearkened not to my voice; And Israel would none of me.

¹² So I let them go after the stubbornness of their heart, That they might walk in their own counsels.

¹³ Oh that my people would hearken unto me, That Israel would walk in my ways!

¹⁴ I would soon subdue their enemies, And turn my hand against their adversaries.

¹⁵ The haters of Jehovah should submit themselves unto him: But their time should endure for ever.

¹⁰ I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

¹¹ But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me.

¹² So I gave them up unto their own hearts’ lust: and they walked in their own counsels.

¹¹ But my people would not listen to me SYN; they would not obey me.

¹² So even though they were very stubborn, I allowed them to do whatever they wanted to do.

¹³ I wish that my people would listen to me, that the Israeli people would behave as I want them to do.

¹⁴ If they did that, I would quickly defeat their enemies; I would strike/punish all of them DOU.

¹⁵ Then all those who hate me would ◄cringe before/bow down to► me, and then I would punish them MTY forever.

¹³ If only my people would give ear to me, walking in my ways!

¹⁴ I would quickly overcome their haters: my hand would be turned against those who make war on them.

¹⁵ The haters of the Lord would be broken, and their destruction would be eternal.

¹⁵ The haters of Jehovah would have come cringing unto him; but their time would have been for ever.

¹⁰ I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.

¹¹ But my people didn't listen to me. Israel didn't want anything to do with me.

¹² So I sent them away to follow their stubborn thinking, living as they chose.

¹³ If only my people would listen to me; if only Israel would follow my ways!

¹⁴ It wouldn't take me long to conquer their enemies, to strike down their foes.

¹⁵ Those who hate the Lord would cringe before him, forever doomed.

¹⁰ For I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide and I will fill it.

¹¹ But my people would not heare my voyce, and Israel would none of me.

¹² So I gaue them vp vnto the hardnesse of their heart, and they haue walked in their owne cousels.

¹³ Oh that my people had hearkened vnto me, and Israel had walked in my wayes.

¹⁴ I would soone haue humbled their enemies, and turned mine hand against their aduersaries.

¹⁵ The haters of the Lord should haue bene subiect vnto him, and their time should haue endured for euer.

¹⁰ (81-11) I am the LORD thy God, who brought thee up out of the land of Egypt; open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

¹¹ (81-12) But My people hearkened not to My voice; and Israel would none of Me.

¹² (81-13) So I let them go after the stubbornness of their heart, that they might walk in their own counsels.

¹³ (81-14) Oh that My people would hearken unto Me, that Israel would walk in My ways!

¹⁴ (81-15) I would soon subdue their enemies, and turn My hand against their adversaries.

¹⁵ (81-16) The haters of the LORD should dwindle away before Him; and their punishment should endure for ever.

¹² (81:13) So I let them go in the stubbornness of their own hearts: and they walked in their own counsels.

¹³ (81:14) Oh that my people would hearken unto me, that Israel would walk in my ways!

¹⁴ (81:15) In a little while would I subdue their enemies, and against their adversaries would I turn my hand.

¹⁵ (81:16) The haters of the Lord should offer flattery unto him; but their time should endure for ever.

¹⁰ I Jehovah am thy God, Who brought thee out of the land of Egypt: Open wide thy mouth, and I will fill it!

¹¹ But my people would not listen to my voice, And Israel would not hearken to me.

¹² So I gave them up to the obstinacy of their hearts, And they walked according to their own devices.

¹³ “O that my people had hearkened to me! That Israel had walked in my ways!

¹⁴ Soon would I have brought low their enemies, And turned my hand against their adversaries.

¹⁵ The haters of Jehovah should have become suppliants to them, And their prosperity should have endured for ever.

¹⁰ I am the Lord your God who brought you up out of Egypt. Open your mouth, that I fill it.

¹¹ “But my people did not listen to my voice, Israel would have none of me.

¹² So to their own hard hearts I left them, to follow their own devices.

¹³ O that my people would listen, that Israel would walk in my ways.

¹⁴ Soon would I humble their enemies, and turn my hand on their foes.

¹⁵ Those who hate the Lord would cringe before him in everlasting terror.

¹⁰ I am the Lord your God who brought you up out of Egypt. Open your mouth, that I fill it.

¹¹ “But my people did not listen to my voice, Israel would have none of me.

¹² So to their own hard hearts I left them, to follow their own devices.

¹³ O that my people would listen, that Israel would walk in my ways.

¹⁰ I am Adonai , your God, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt Abode of slavery. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.

¹¹ But my people didn’t sh'ma ·hear obey· my voice. Israel God prevails desired none of me.

¹² So I let them go after the stubbornness of their hearts, that they might walk in their own counsels.

¹³ Oh that my people would sh'ma ·hear obey· me, that Israel God prevails would walk in my ways!

¹⁴ I would soon subdue their enemies, and turn my hand against their adversaries.

¹⁵ The haters of Adonai would cringe before him, and their punishment would last forever.

¹⁰ I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.

¹¹ But my people did not listen to my words; Israel did not obey me.

¹² So I gave them over to their own stubborn way so that they might do what seemed right to them.

¹³ Oh, that my people would listen to me; oh, that my people would walk in my paths.

¹⁴ Then I would quickly subdue their enemies and turn my hand against their oppressors.

¹⁵ May those who hate Yahweh cringe in fear before him! May they be humiliated forever.

¹⁰ I am Yahweh, your God, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.

¹² And I let them go after the desires of their heart; they shall go in their findings.

¹³ If my people had heard me; if Israel had gone in my ways.

¹⁴ For not in hap I had made low their enemies; and I had sent mine hand on men doing tribulation to them.

¹⁵ The enemies of the Lord lied or lay down to him; and their time shall be into worlds.

¹⁰ For I am thy Lord God, that led thee out of the land of Egypt; make large thy mouth, and I shall fill it. (For I am the Lord thy God, who led thee out of the land of Egypt; open thy mouth wide, and I shall fill it.)

¹¹ And my people heard not my voice; and Israel gave not attention to me. (But my people would not listen to my voice; yea, Israel would not give their attention to me.)

¹² And I let go them after the desires of their heart; they shall go in their findings. (So I let them go after the desires of their hearts; and they went forth in their own ways.)

¹³ If my people had heard me; if Israel had gone in my ways. (If my people would but listen to me; if Israel would just follow my ways,)

¹⁴ For not in hap I had made low their enemies; and I had sent mine hand on men doing tribulation to them. (then I would bring down their enemies; and I would send forth my hand against those who give them trouble.)

¹⁵ The enemies of the Lord lied (down) to him; and their time shall be into worlds. (And then the Lord’s enemies would fall down before me; and their punishment would last forever.)

¹⁰ I am Jehovah thy God, Who bringeth thee up out of the land of Egypt. Enlarge thy mouth, and I fill it.

¹¹ But, My people hearkened not to My voice, And Israel hath not consented to Me.

¹² And I send them away in the enmity of their heart, They walk in their own counsels.

¹³ O that My people were hearkening to Me, Israel in My ways would walk.

¹⁴ As a little thing their enemies I cause to bow, And against their adversaries I turn back My hand,

¹⁵ Those hating Jehovah feign obedience to Him, But their time is — to the age.
