¹⁶ Better is a little that the righteous hath Than the abundance of many wicked.

¹⁷ For the arms of the wicked shall be broken; But Jehovah upholdeth the righteous.

¹⁸ Jehovah knoweth the days of the perfect; And their inheritance shall be for ever.

¹⁹ They shall not be put to shame in the time of evil; And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

²⁰ But the wicked shall perish, And the enemies of Jehovah shall be as the fat of lambs: They shall consume; in smoke shall they consume away.

²¹ The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again; But the righteous dealeth graciously, and giveth.

²² For such as are blessed of him shall inherit the land; And they that are cursed of him shall be cut off.

²³ A man’s goings are established of Jehovah; And he delighteth in his way.

²⁴ Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For Jehovah upholdeth him with his hand.

²⁵ I have been young, and now am old; Yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his seed begging bread.

²⁶ All the day long he dealeth graciously, and lendeth; And his seed is blessed.

²⁷ Depart from evil, and do good; And dwell for evermore.

²⁸ For Jehovah loveth justice, And forsaketh not his saints; They are preserved for ever: But the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

³¹ The law of his God is in his heart; None of his steps shall slide.

³⁴ Wait for Jehovah, and keep his way, And he will exalt thee to inherit the land: When the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.

³⁵ I have seen the wicked in great power, And spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil.

³⁶ But one passed by, and, lo, he was not: Yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.

³⁷ Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright; For there is a happy end to the man of peace.

³⁸ As for transgressors, they shall be destroyed together: The end of the wicked shall be cut off.

¹⁶ It is good to be righteous/godly even if you do not have many possessions, but it is bad to be wicked, even if you are very wealthy,

¹⁷ because Yahweh will completely take away the strength of wicked people, but he will ◄sustain/take care of► people who live righteously.

¹⁸ Every day Yahweh cares about those who have not done any evil things; the things that Yahweh gives them will last forever.

¹⁹ They will survive when calamities occur; when there are famines, they will still have plenty to eat.

²⁰ But wicked people will die; just like the beautiful wild flowers in the fields die under the hot sun and disappear like smoke MET, Yahweh will cause his enemies to suddenly disappear.

²¹ The wicked people borrow money, but they are not able to repay it; righteous/godly people, in contrast, have enough money that they can give generously to others.

²² Those whom Yahweh has blessed will live safely in the land that he has given to them, but he will get rid of those people whom he has cursed.

²³ Yahweh protects those who do what is pleasing to him, and he will enable them to walk confidently, wherever they go;

²⁴ even if they stumble, they will not fall down, because Yahweh holds them by his hand.

²⁵ I was young previously, and now I am an old man, but in all those years, I have never seen righteous/godly people being abandoned by Yahweh, nor have I seen that their children needed to beg for food.

²⁶ Righteous/Godly people are generous, and happily lend money to others, and their children are a blessing to them.

²⁷ Turn away from doing evil, and do what is good. If you do that, you and your descendants will live in your land forever.

²⁸ That will happen because Yahweh likes to see people doing what is just, and he will never forsake righteous/godly people. He will protect them forever; but he will get rid of the children of wicked people.

²⁹ Righteous/Godly people will own the land that Yahweh promised to give to them, and they will live there forever.

³⁰ Righteous people give wise advice to others, and they MTY say what is just/fair.

³¹ They continually think about God's laws; they do not stray from God's path.

³² Those who are evil wait in ambush for righteous people in order to kill them as they walk by.

³³ But Yahweh will not abandon righteous people, and allow ◄them to fall into their enemies' hands/their enemies harm them►. And he will not allow righteous people to be condemned when someone takes them to a judge to be put on trial.

³⁴ Be patient and trust that Yahweh will help you, and ◄walk on his paths/do what he wants you to do►. If you do that, he will honor you by giving you the land that he promised, and when he gets rid of the wicked, you will see it happen.

³⁵ I have seen that wicked people who ◄act like tyrants/terrify people► sometimes prosper, like trees that grow well in fertile soil,

³⁶ when I looked later, they were gone! I searched for them, but Yahweh had caused them to disappear.

³⁷ Notice the people who have not done evil things, those who act righteously: their descendants will have peace in their inner beings.

³⁸ But Yahweh will get rid of the wicked; he will also get rid of their descendants (OR, as a result, they will not have any descendants).

²⁰ But the wrongdoers will come to destruction, and the haters of the Lord will be like the fat of lambs, they will be burned up; they will go up in smoke, and never again be seen.

²¹ The sinner takes money and does not give it back; but the upright man has mercy, and gives to others.

²² Those who have his blessing will have the earth for their heritage; but those who are cursed by him will be cut off.

²³ The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he takes delight in his way.

²⁴ Even if he has a fall he will not be without help: for the hand of the Lord is supporting him.

²⁵ I have been young, and now am old, but I have not seen the good man without help, or his children looking for bread.

²⁶ All the day he is ready to have mercy and to give; his children are a blessing.

²⁷ Be turned from evil, and do good; and your place will be for ever.

²⁸ For the Lord is a lover of righteousness, and takes care of his saints; they will be kept safe for ever; but the seed of the evil-doers will be cut off.

²⁹ The upright will have the earth for their heritage, and will go on living there for ever.

³⁰ The mouth of the good man says words of wisdom; the talk of his tongue is of righteousness.

³¹ The law of his God is in his heart; he will never make a false step.

³² The sinners are watching the upright man, desiring to put him to death.

³³ The Lord will not give him into their hands, or be against him when he is judged.

³⁴ Be waiting for the Lord, and keep his way; and you will be lifted up, and have the land for your heritage: when the evil-doers are cut off, you will see it.

³⁵ I have seen the evil-doer in great power, covering the earth like a great tree.

³⁶ But he came to an end, and there was no sign of him; I made a search for him and he was not there.

³⁷ Give attention to the good man, and take note of the upright; because the end of that man is peace.

³⁸ But as for the sinners, they will be cut off together; the end of the wrongdoers is destruction.

¹⁶ It's better to do right and only have a little, than to be wicked and rich.

¹⁷ For the power of the wicked will be broken, but the Lord supports those who do right.

¹⁸ The Lord knows what is happening to the innocent and grants them an eternal inheritance.

¹⁹ They will not be humiliated in bad times; even in days of famine they will have plenty to eat.

²⁰ But the wicked will die. The enemies of the Lord are like the flowers of the field—they will vanish like smoke.

²¹ The wicked borrow, but don't repay; while those who do right give generously.

²² Those who are blessed by God will own the land, but those he curses will die.

²³ The Lord shows the right path to those who follow him, and is happy with the way they live.

²⁴ Though they may trip up, they will not fall to the ground, for the Lord holds their hand.

²⁵ Once I was young, and now I've grown old, yet I've never seen those who do right abandoned, nor their children having to beg for bread.

²⁶ They are always kind, and generous with their loans; their children are a blessing.

²⁷ Reject evil, do what is good, and you will live forever in the land.

²⁸ For the Lord loves fairness and he will never abandon those who are trustworthy. He will protect them forever. But the children of the wicked will die.

²⁹ Those who do right will own the land and will live there forever.

³⁰ People who do right give good advice, explaining what is fair.

³¹ God's law lives in their minds, so they will not slip from his way.

³² The wicked lie in wait for those who do good, intending to kill them.

³³ But the Lord will not let them fall into the hands of the wicked, and he will not let those who do good be condemned when they are put on trial.

³⁴ Trust in the Lord, and stay on his path. He will lift you up and give you the land to own. You will see when the wicked are destroyed.

³⁵ I have watched the wicked acting brutally, spreading like a large tree in its native land.

³⁶ But when I passed that way the next time, they were gone. I searched for them but couldn't find them.

³⁷ Observe the innocent, look at those who do right! Those who love peace have a future!

³⁸ But those who are rebellious will be altogether destroyed; the wicked have no future.

¹⁶ A small thing vnto the iust man is better, then great riches to the wicked and mightie.

¹⁷ For the armes of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord vpholdeth the iust men.

²⁰ But the wicked shall perish. The enemies of the LORD shall be like the beauty of the fields. They will vanish— vanish like smoke.

²¹ The wicked borrow, and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously.

²² For such as are blessed by him shall inherit the land. Those who are cursed by him shall be cut off.

²³ A man’s steps are established by the LORD. He delights in his way.

²⁴ Though he stumble, he shall not fall, for the LORD holds him up with his hand.

²⁵ I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread.

²⁶ All day long he deals graciously, and lends. His offspring is blessed.

²⁷ Depart from evil, and do good. Live securely forever.

²⁸ For the LORD loves justice, and doesn’t forsake his holy ones. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off.

²⁹ The righteous shall inherit the land, and live in it forever.

³⁰ The mouth of the righteous talks of wisdom. His tongue speaks justice.

³¹ The law of his God is in his heart. None of his steps shall slide.

³² The wicked watch the righteous, and seek to kill him.

³³ The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.

³⁴ Wait for the LORD, and keep his way, and he will exalt you to inherit the land. When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.

³⁵ I have seen the wicked in great power, spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil.

³⁶ But he passed away, and behold, he was not. Yes, I sought him, but he could not be found.

³⁷ Mark the perfect man, and see the upright, for there is a future for the man of peace.

³⁸ As for transgressors, they shall be destroyed together. The future of the wicked shall be cut off.

¹⁶ Better is a little that the righteous has, than the abundance of many wicked.

¹⁷ For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but the LORD upholds the righteous.

¹⁸ The LORD knows the days of the perfect. Their inheritance shall be forever.

¹⁹ They shall not be disappointed in the time of evil. In the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

²⁰ for sinners shall perish. Forsooth anon as the enemies of the Lord be honoured, and enhanced; they failing shall fail as smoke.

²¹ A sinner shall borrow, and shall not pay back; but a just or rightwise man hath mercy, and shall give.

²² For they that bless the Lord shall inherit the land; but they that curse him shall perish.

²³ The goings of a man shall be dressed with the Lord; and he shall delight in his way.

²⁴ When he falleth, he shall not be hurtled or hurled down; for the Lord undersetteth his hand.

²⁵ I was younger, and soothly I waxed eld; and I saw not a just or rightwise man forsaken, neither his seed seeking bread.

²⁶ All day he hath mercy, and lendeth; and his seed shall be in blessing.

²⁷ Bow thou away from evil, and do good; and dwell thou into the world of world.

²⁸ For the Lord loveth doom, and shall not forsake his saints; they shall be kept without end. Unjust men shall be punished; and the seed of wicked men shall perish.

³² A sinner beholdeth a just or right-wise man; and seeketh to slay him.

³³ But the Lord shall not forsake him in his hands; neither he shall condemn him, when it shall be deemed against him.

³⁴ Abide thou the Lord, and keep thou his way, and he shall enhance thee, that by heritage thou take the land; when sinners shall perish, thou shalt see.

³⁵ I saw the wicked man enhanced above; and raised up as the cedars of Lebanon.

³⁶ And I passed by, and lo! he was not there; I sought him, and his place was not found.

³⁷ Keep thou innocence, and see equity; for those or they be relics or remnants to a peaceable man.

³⁸ Forsooth unjust men shall perish; the remnants or relics of wicked men shall perish altogether.

¹⁶ Better is a little thing to a just man; than many riches of sinners. (Better is the little that the righteous have; than the many riches of the sinners.)

¹⁷ For the arms of sinners shall be all-broken; but the Lord confirmeth just men. (For the strength of the sinners shall be all-broken; but the Lord upholdeth the righteous.)

¹⁸ The Lord knoweth the days of the unwemmed; and their heritage shall be (into) without end. (The Lord knoweth all about those without blemish, or without fault; and their inheritance shall last forever.)

²¹ A sinner shall borrow, and shall not pay (back); but a just man hath mercy, and shall give, (or but the righteous have love, and shall give to others).

²² For they that bless the Lord shall inherit the land; but they that curse him shall perish. (For those who be blessed by the Lord, shall inherit the earth; but they who be cursed by him, shall perish.)

²³ The going(s) of a man shall be (ad)dressed with the Lord; and he shall delight in his way. (The goings of a man be directed by the Lord; and he guardeth him on his way.)

²⁴ When he falleth, he shall not be hurtled down/he shall not be hurled down; for the Lord undersetteth his hand.

²⁵ I was younger, and soothly I waxed eld; and I saw not a just man forsaken, neither his seed seeking bread. (I was young, and then I grew old; and I never saw a righteous person abandoned, nor his children seeking bread.)

²⁶ All day he hath mercy, and lendeth; and his seed shall be in blessing. (All day long he hath love, and lendeth to others; and his children, or his descendants, shall be blessed.)

²⁷ Bow thou away from evil, and do good; and dwell thou into the world of world. (Turn thou away from evil, and do good; and thou shalt live forever.)

²⁸ For the Lord loveth doom, and shall not forsake his saints; they shall be kept into without end. Unjust men shall be punished; and the seed of wicked men shall perish. (For the Lord loveth justice, and shall not forsake his saints; they shall be kept safe forever. The unjust, or the unrighteous, shall be punished; and the descendants of the wicked shall perish.)

²⁹ But just men shall inherit the land; and shall inhabit thereon into the world of world. (But the righteous shall inherit the land; and shall inhabit it forever.)

³⁰ The mouth of a just man shall bethink wisdom; and his tongue shall speak doom. (The righteous person speaketh wisdom; yea, his tongue shall speak of justice, or fairness.)

³¹ The law of his God is in his heart; and his steps shall not be deceived. (The Law of God is in his heart; and his steps shall not slip or and his feet shall not stumble.)

³² A sinner beholdeth a just man; and seeketh to slay him.

³³ But the Lord shall not forsake him in his hands; neither he shall condemn him, when it shall be deemed against him.

³⁴ Abide thou the Lord, and keep thou his way, and he shall enhance thee, that by heritage thou take the land; when sinners shall perish, thou shalt see. (Wait thou for the Lord, and keep thou to his way, and he shall raise thee up, or shall exalt thee, so that thou take the land by inheritance; and when the sinners shall perish, thou shalt see it.)

³⁵ I saw the wicked man enhanced above; and raised up as the cedars of Lebanon. (Once I saw a wicked man exalted; yea, raised up as high as the cedars in Lebanon.)

³⁶ And I passed (or And then I passed by later), and lo! he was not (there); I sought him, and his place was not found.

³⁷ Keep thou innocence, and see equity; for those be relics to a peaceable man. (Mark thou the innocent, and look upon the righteous; for they be the progeny of peaceful people.)

³⁸ Forsooth unjust men shall perish; the remnants/the relics of wicked men shall perish (al)together. (But the unjust, or the unrighteous, shall perish; yea, the progeny of the wicked shall altogether perish.)

¹⁶ Better is the little of the righteous, Than the store of many wicked.

¹⁷ For the arms of the wicked are shivered, And Jehovah is sustaining the righteous.

¹⁸ Jehovah knoweth the days of the perfect, And their inheritance is — to the age.

¹⁹ They are not ashamed in a time of evil, And in days of famine they are satisfied.

²⁰ But the wicked perish, and the enemies of Jehovah, As the preciousness of lambs, Have been consumed, In smoke they have been consumed.

²¹ The wicked is borrowing and repayeth not, And the righteous is gracious and giving.

²² For His blessed ones do possess the land, And His reviled ones are cut off.

²³ From Jehovah are the steps of a man, They have been prepared, And his way he desireth.

²⁴ When he falleth, he is not cast down, For Jehovah is sustaining his hand.

²⁵ Young I have been, I have also become old, And I have not seen the righteous forsaken, And his seed seeking bread.

²⁶ All the day he is gracious and lending, And his seed is for a blessing.

²⁷ Turn aside from evil, and do good, and dwell to the age.

²⁸ For Jehovah is loving judgment, And He doth not forsake His saintly ones, To the age they have been kept, And the seed of the wicked is cut off.

²⁹ The righteous possess the land, And they dwell for ever on it.

³⁰ The mouth of the righteous uttereth wisdom, And his tongue speaketh judgment.

³¹ The law of his God is his heart, His steps do not slide.

³² The wicked is watching for the righteous, And is seeking to put him to death.

³³ Jehovah doth not leave him in his hand, Nor condemn him in his being judged.

³⁴ Look unto Jehovah, and keep His way, And He doth exalt thee to possess the land, In the wicked being cut off — thou seest!

³⁵ I have seen the wicked terrible, And spreading as a green native plant,

³⁶ And he passeth away, and lo, he is not, And I seek him, and he is not found!

³⁷ Observe the perfect, and see the upright, For the latter end of each is peace.

³⁸ And transgressors were destroyed together, The latter end of the wicked was cut off.
