Psalms 13:3-6 in English

³ Consider and answer me, O Jehovah my God: Lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;

⁴ Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; Lest mine adversaries rejoice when I am moved.

⁵ But I have trusted in thy lovingkindness; My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

⁶ I will sing unto Jehovah, Because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

³ They are all gone out of the way, they are together become good for nothing, there is none that does good, no not one. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness; their feet are swift to shed blood: destruction and misery are in their ways; and the way of peace they have not known: there is no fear of God before their eyes.

⁴ Will not all the workers of iniquity know, who eat up my people as they would eat bread? they have not called upon the Lord.

⁵ There were they alarmed with fear, where there was no fear; for God is in the righteous generation.

⁶ Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the Lord is his hope.

³ Yahweh my God, look at me and answer me. Enable me to become strong again IDM, and do not allow me to die.

⁴ Do not allow my enemies to boast saying, “We have defeated him!” Do not allow them to defeat me, with the result that they will rejoice about it!

⁵ But I trust that you will faithfully love me; I will rejoice when you rescue me.

⁶ Yahweh, you have done many good things for me, so I will sing to you.

³ Let my voice come before you, and give me an answer, O Lord my God; let your light be shining on me, so that the sleep of death may not overtake me;

⁴ And he who is against me may not say, I have overcome him; and those who are troubling me may not be glad when I am moved.

⁵ But I have had faith in your mercy; my heart will be glad in your salvation.

⁶ I will make a song to the Lord, because he has given me my reward.

³ Consider, answer me, O Jehovah my God! lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;

⁴ Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him! lest mine adversaries be joyful when I am moved.

⁵ As for me, I have confided in thy loving-kindness; my heart shall be joyful in thy salvation.

⁶ I will sing unto Jehovah, for he hath dealt bountifully with me.

³ They are all gone aside, they are become unprofitable together: there is none that doth good, no not one. Their throat is an open sepulchre: with their tongues they acted deceitfully; the poison of asps is under their lips. Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness; their feet are swift to shed blood. Destruction and unhappiness in their ways: and the way of peace they have not known: there is no fear of God before their eyes.

⁴ Shall not all they know that work iniquity, who devour my people as they eat bread?

⁵ They have not called upon the Lord: there have they trembled for fear, where there was no fear.

⁶ For the Lord is in the just generation: you have confounded the counsel of the poor man, but the Lord is his hope.

³ Think about this, and answer me, Lord my God. Give me back my strength, otherwise I'm going to die,

⁴ and my enemy will say, “I defeated him!” and my opponents will celebrate my downfall.

⁵ But I trust in your never-failing love, I will be happy because you save me.

⁶ I will sing to the Lord because he has treated me with such generosity!

³ Beholde, and heare mee, O Lord my God: lighten mine eyes, that I sleepe not in death:

⁴ Lest mine enemie say, I haue preuailed against him: and they that afflict me, reioyce when I slide.

⁵ But I trust in thy mercie: mine heart shall reioyce in thy saluation: I will sing to the Lord, because he hath delt louingly with me.

³ (13-4) Behold Thou, and answer me, O LORD my God; lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;

⁴ (13-5) Lest mine enemy say: 'I have prevailed against him'; lest mine adversaries rejoice when I am moved.

⁵ (13-6) But as for me, in Thy mercy do I trust; my heart shall rejoice in Thy salvation.

⁶ (13-6) I will sing unto the LORD, because He hath dealt bountifully with me.

³ (13:4) Look down, answer me, O Lord my God! enlighten my eyes, that I may not sleep the sleep of death;

⁴ (13:5) That my enemy may not say, I have overcome him; that my assailants may not be glad when I am moved.

⁵ (13:6) But I trust in thy kindness, let my heart be glad because of thy salvation:

⁶ I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

³ They are all gone out of the way, they are together become good for nothing, There is none that does good, no not one. ⁵ Yet will I trust in thy goodness; My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation;

⁶ I will sing to the LORD, that he hath dealt kindly with me.

³ Look at me, answer me, Lord my God. Fill my eyes with your light, lest I sleep in death,

⁴ lest my enemies claim to have triumphed, lest my foes rejoice at my downfall.

⁵ But I trust in your kindness: my heart will rejoice in your help.

⁶ I will sing to the Lord who was good to me.

³ Look at me, answer me, Lord my God. Fill my eyes with your light, lest I sleep in death,

⁴ lest my enemies claim to have triumphed, lest my foes rejoice at my downfall.

⁵ But I trust in your kindness: my heart will rejoice in your help.

⁶ I will sing to the Lord who was good to me.

³ Behold, and answer me, Adonai , my God. Give light to my eyes, lest I sleep in death;

⁴ Lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed against him;” Lest my adversaries rejoice when I fall.

⁵ But I trust in your cheshed ·loving-kindness·. My heart rejoices in your yishu'ah ·salvation·.

⁶ I will sing to Adonai , because he has been good to me.

³ Look at me and answer me, Yahweh my God! Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death.

⁴ Do not let my enemy say, “I have defeated him,” so that my enemy may not say, “I have prevailed over my adversary”; otherwise, my enemies will rejoice when I am brought down.

⁵ But I have trusted in your covenant faithfulness; my heart rejoices in your salvation.

⁶ I will sing to Yahweh because he has treated me very generously.

³ Behold, and answer me, Yahweh, my God. Give light to my eyes, lest I sleep in death;

⁴ lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed against him;” lest my adversaries rejoice when I fall.

⁵ But I trust in your loving kindness. My heart rejoices in your salvation.

³ My Lord God, behold thou, and hear thou me. Lighten thou mine eyes, lest any time I sleep in death;

⁴ lest any time mine enemy say, I had the mastery against him. They, that trouble me, shall have joy, if I shall be stirred;

⁵ but I hoped in thy mercy. Mine heart shall fully have joy in thine health;

⁶ I shall sing to the Lord, that giveth goods to me, and I shall say psalm to the name of the highest Lord.

³ My Lord God, behold thou, and hear thou me. Lighten thou mine eyes, lest any time I sleep in death; (My Lord God, behold thou, and answer thou me. Give thou light to my eyes, lest any time I sleep in death;)

⁴ lest any time mine enemy say, I had the mastery against him. They, that trouble me, shall have joy, if I shall be stirred; (lest any time my enemy say, I had the mastery over him. For they, who trouble me, shall have joy, if I shall slip, or shall stumble, or if I shall fall;)

⁵ but I hoped in thy mercy. Mine heart shall fully have joy in thine health; (but I trusted in thy love. My heart shall make full out joy in thy salvation or My heart shall rejoice in thy deliverance;)

⁶ I shall sing to the Lord, that giveth goods to me, and I shall say psalm to the name of the highest Lord. (I shall sing to the Lord, who giveth good things to me, yea, I shall sing a song to the name of the Most High Lord.)

³ Look attentively; Answer me, O Jehovah, my God, Enlighten mine eyes, lest I sleep in death,

⁴ Lest mine enemy say, 'I overcame him,' Mine adversaries joy when I am moved.

⁵ And I, in Thy kindness I have trusted, Rejoice doth my heart in Thy salvation.

⁶ I do sing to Jehovah, For He hath conferred benefits upon me!
