² Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou established strength, Because of thine adversaries, That thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

³ When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, The moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

⁴ What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him?

⁵ For thou hast made him but little lower than God, And crownest him with glory and honor.

⁶ Thou makest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; Thou hast put all things under his feet:

⁷ All sheep and oxen, Yea, and the beasts of the field,

⁸ The birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, Whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.

² O Lord, our Lord, how wonderful is thy name in all the earth! for thy magnificence is exalted above the heavens.

³ Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou perfected praise, because of thine enemies; that thou mightest put down the enemy and avenger.

⁴ For I will regard the heavens, the work of thy fingers; the moon and stars, which thou hast established.

⁵ What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?

³ When I look up at the sky at night, and see the things that you have made— the moon and the stars that you have set in place—

⁴ it is amazing to me that RHQ you think about people, that you are concerned about us humans!

⁵ You made the angels in heaven to be only a little more important than we are; you caused us to be like kings MET and you gave us splendor and honor DOU!

⁶ You put us in charge of everything that you made; you gave us authority over all things—

⁷ the sheep and the cattle, and even the wild animals,

⁸ the birds, the fish, and everything else that swims in the seas.

⁴ What is man, that you keep him in mind? the son of man, that you take him into account?

⁵ For you have made him only a little lower than the gods, crowning him with glory and honour.

⁶ You have made him ruler over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet;

⁷ All sheep and oxen, and all the beasts of the field;

⁸ The birds of the air and the fish of the sea, and whatever goes through the deep waters of the seas.

² O Lord our Lord, how admirable is thy name in the whole earth! For thy magnificence is elevated above the heavens.

³ Out of the mouth of infants and of sucklings thou hast perfected praise, because of thy enemies, that thou mayst destroy the enemy and the avenger.

⁴ For I will behold thy heavens, the works of thy fingers: the moon and the stars which thou hast founded.

⁵ What is man that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man that thou visitest hi?

⁶ Thou hast made him a little less than the angels, thou hast crowned him with glory and honour:

⁷ And hast set him over the works of thy hands.

⁸ Thou hast subjected all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen: moreover the beasts also of the fields.

² and is sung by the voices of children and infants. Your strength counters your opponents, silencing the enemy and the avenger.

³ When I contemplate the heavens that your hands made, the moon and stars that you placed there,

⁴ What are human beings that you should concern yourself with them? What are people that you should care for them?

⁵ You created them a little lower than God, crowning them with glory and majesty.

⁶ You put them in charge of all that you made, giving them authority over everything:

⁷ the sheep, the cattle, and the wild animals,

⁸ the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea—everything that swims in the ocean.

⁴ What is man, say I, that thou art mindefull of him? and the sonne of man, that thou visitest him?

⁵ For thou hast made him a little lower then God, and crowned him with glory and worship.

⁶ Thou hast made him to haue dominion in the workes of thine hands: thou hast put all things vnder his feete:

⁷ All sheepe and oxen: yea, and the beastes of the fielde:

⁸ The foules of the ayre, and the fish of the sea, and that which passeth through the paths of the seas.

⁴ (8:5) What is the mortal, that thou rememberest him? and the son of man, that thou thinkest of him:

⁵ (8:6) Yet thou hast made him but a little less than angels, and hast crowned him with honor and glory.

⁶ (8:7) Thou hast given him dominion over the works of thy hands; every thing hast thou placed beneath his feet:

⁷ (8:8) Flocks and herds altogether, and also the beasts of the field;

⁸ (8:9) The birds of heaven, and the fishes of the sea, whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.

⁸ The birds of the air, and the fishes of the sea, And whatever passeth through the paths of the deep.

² from the mouths of children and infants. You have built a fortress against your enemies, to silence the foe and the rebel.

³ When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set there,

⁴ what are mortals, that you think of them, humans, that you visit them?

⁵ Yet you made them little less than divine, crowned them with glory and majesty,

⁶ made them lord of the works of your hands, put all things under their feet —

⁷ sheep and oxen, all of them; and the wild beasts also:

⁸ birds of the air, and fish of the sea, and all that crosses the paths of the ocean.

⁵ Yet you have made them only a little lower than the heavenly beings and have crowned them with glory and honor.

⁶ You make him to rule over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet:

⁷ all sheep and oxen, and even the animals of the field,

⁸ the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, everything that passes through the currents of the seas.

⁷ all sheep and oxen, furthermore and the beasts of the field;

⁸ the birds of the air, and the fishes of the sea, and all the other creatures that pass by the paths of the sea.

² Of the mouth of young children, not speaking and sucking milk, thou hast made perfect praising, for thine enemies; that thou destroy the enemy and the avenger. (Out of the mouths of young children, who do not speak, but who suck milk, thou hast rebuked thy mighty enemies; yea, thou hast destroyed the enemy and the avenger.)

³ For I shall see thine heavens, the works of thy fingers; the moon and the stars, which thou hast founded.

⁴ What is a man, that is mankind, that thou art mindful of him; either the son of a virgin or the son of man, for thou visitest him? (What is a man, that is humankind, that thou art mindful of him; or who is the son of a man, that thou should care about him?)

⁵ Thou hast made him a little less than (the) angels; (but) thou hast crowned him with glory and honour,

⁶ and thou hast ordained him above the works of thine hands. Thou hast made subject all things under his feet; (and thou hast ordained him over all thy creatures. Yea, thou hast put all things under his feet;)

⁷ all sheep and oxen, furthermore and the beasts of the field; (all the sheep and the oxen, and furthermore, the beasts of the fields, that is, the wild beasts;)

⁸ the birds of the air, and the fishes of the sea, (and all the other creatures) that pass by the paths of the sea. (and the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, and all the other creatures that go along the paths of the sea.)

² From the mouths of infants and sucklings Thou hast founded strength, Because of Thine adversaries, To still an enemy and a self-avenger.

³ For I see Thy heavens, a work of Thy fingers, Moon and stars that Thou didst establish.

⁴ What is man that Thou rememberest him? The son of man that Thou inspectest him?

⁵ And causest him to lack a little of Godhead, And with honour and majesty compassest him.

⁶ Thou dost cause him to rule Over the works of Thy hands, All Thou hast placed under his feet.

⁷ Sheep and oxen, all of them, And also beasts of the field,

⁸ Bird of the heavens, and fish of the sea, Passing through the paths of the seas!
