Psalms 89:5-27 in American Standard Version (1901)

5 And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O Jehovah; Thy faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones.
6 For who in the skies can be compared unto Jehovah? Who among the sons of the mighty is like unto Jehovah,
7 A God very terrible in the council of the holy ones, And to be feared above all them that are round about him?
8 O Jehovah God of hosts, Who is a mighty one, like unto thee, O Jehovah? And thy faithfulness is round about thee.
9 Thou rulest the pride of the sea: When the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.
10 Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; Thou hast scattered thine enemies with the arm of thy strength.
11 The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: The world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them.
12 The north and the south, thou hast created them: Tabor and Hermon rejoice in thy name.
13 Thou hast a mighty arm; Strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.
14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of thy throne: Lovingkindness and truth go before thy face.
15 Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: They walk, O Jehovah, in the light of thy countenance.
16 In thy name do they rejoice all the day; And in thy righteousness are they exalted.
17 For thou art the glory of their strength; And in thy favor our horn shall be exalted.
18 For our shield belongeth unto Jehovah; And our king to the Holy One of Israel.
19 Then thou spakest in vision to thy saints, And saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.
20 I have found David my servant; With my holy oil have I anointed him:
21 With whom my hand shall be established; Mine arm also shall strengthen him.
22 The enemy shall not exact from him, Nor the son of wickedness afflict him.
23 And I will beat down his adversaries before him, And smite them that hate him.
24 But my faithfulness and my lovingkindness shall be with him; And in my name shall his horn be exalted.
25 I will set his hand also on the sea, And his right hand on the rivers.
26 He shall cry unto me, Thou art my Father, My God, and the rock of my salvation.
27 I also will make him my first-born, The highest of the kings of the earth.

Psalms 89:5-27 in Brenton Septuagint Translation

5 Years shall be vanity to them: let the morning pass away as grass.
6 In the morning let it flower, and pass away: in the evening let it droop, let it be withered and dried up.
7 For we have perished in thine anger, and in thy wrath we have been troubled.
8 Thou hast set our transgressions before thee: our age is in the light of thy countenance.
9 For all our days are gone, and we have passed away in thy wrath: our years have spun out their tale as a spider.
10 As for the days of our years, in them are seventy years; and if men should be in strength, eighty years: and the greater part of them would be labour and trouble; for weakness overtakes us, and we shall be chastened.
11 Who knows the power of thy wrath?
12 and who knows how to number his days because of the fear of thy wrath? So manifest thy right hand, and those that are instructed in wisdom in the heart.
13 Return, O Lord, how long? and be intreated concerning thy servants.
14 We have been satisfied in the morning with thy mercy; and we did exult and rejoice:
15 let us rejoice in all our days, in return for the days wherein thou didst afflict us, the years wherein we saw evil.
16 And look upon thy servants, and upon thy works; and guide their children.
17 And let the brightness of the Lord our God be upon us: and do thou direct for us the works of our hands.

Psalms 89:5-27 in Bible in Basic English

5 In heaven let them give praise for your wonders, O Lord; and your unchanging faith among the saints.
6 For who is there in the heavens in comparison with the Lord? who is like the Lord among the sons of the gods?
7 God is greatly to be feared among the saints, and to be honoured over all those who are about him.
8 O Lord God of armies, who is strong like you, O Jah? and your unchanging faith is round about you.
9 You have rule over the sea in storm; when its waves are troubled, you make them calm.
10 Rahab was crushed by you like one wounded to death; with your strong arm you put to flight all your haters.
11 Yours are the heavens, and the earth is yours; you have made the world, and everything which is in it.
12 You have made the north and the south; Tabor and Hermon are sounding with joy at your name.
13 Yours is an arm of power; strong is your hand and high your right hand.
14 The seat of your kingdom is resting on righteousness and right judging: mercy and good faith come before your face.
15 Happy are the people who have knowledge of the holy cry: the light of your face, O Lord, will be shining on their way.
16 In your name will they have joy all the day: in your righteousness will they be lifted up.
17 For you are the glory of their strength; in your pleasure will our horn be lifted up.
18 For our breastplate is the Lord; and our king is the Holy One of Israel's.
19 Then your voice came to your holy one in a vision, saying, I have put the crown on a strong one, lifting up one taken from among the people.
20 I have made discovery of David my servant; I have put my holy oil on his head.
21 My hand will be his support; my arm will give him strength.
22 The deceit of those who are against him will not overcome him; he will not be troubled by the sons of evil.
23 I will have those who are against him broken before his face, and his haters will be crushed under my blows.
24 But my faith and my mercy will be with him; and in my name will his horn be lifted up.
25 I will put his hand in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.
26 He will say to me, You are my father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation.
27 And I will make him the first of my sons, most high over the kings of the earth.

Psalms 89:5-27 in Douay-Rheims 1899

5 Things that are counted nothing, shall their years be.
6 In the morning man shall grow up like grass; in the morning he shall flourish and pass away: in the evening he shall fall, grow dry, and wither.
7 For in thy wrath we have fainted away: and are troubled in thy indignation.
8 Thou hast set our iniquities before thy eyes: our life in the light of thy countenance.
9 For all our days are spent; and in thy wrath we have fainted away. Our years shall be considered as a spider:
10 The days of our years in them are threescore and ten years. But if in the strong they be fourscore years: and what is more of them is labour and sorrow. For mildness is come upon us: and we shall be corrected.
11 Who knoweth the power of thy anger, and for thy fear
12 Can number thy wrath? So make thy right hand known: and men learned in heart, in wisdom.
13 Return, O Lord, how long? and be entreated in favour of thy servants.
14 We are filled in the morning with thy mercy: and we have rejoiced, and are delighted all our days.
15 We have rejoiced for the days in which thou hast humbled us: for the years in which we have seen evils.
16 Look upon thy servants and upon their works: and direct their children.
17 And let the brightness of the Lord our God be upon us: and direct thou the works of our hands over us; yea, the work of our hands do thou direct.

5 All the heavenly beings will sing of the wonderful things you have done, Lord; angels will gather to sing of your faithfulness.
6 For who in heaven can compare to the Lord? Who is like the Lord even among the angels?
7 The heavenly council are in awe of God; all who surround him are overwhelmed by him.
8 Lord God Almighty, who is as powerful as you? In all this, Lord, you are completely trustworthy.
9 You rule the restless seas; you calm their stormy waves.
10 You crushed Rahab the sea-monster to death; by your power you scattered your enemies.
11 The heavens belong to you, and the earth too; you made the world and everything in it.
12 You created north and south; Mount Tabor and Mount Hermon celebrate you.
13 Your arm is powerful. Your hand is strong. Your right hand is held up high in command.
14 Your character of goodness and fairness is the basis for the way you rule; dependable love and trustworthiness are always with you.
15 How happy are those who know how to shout your praises, Lord. They live in the light of your presence.
16 They celebrate the person you are all day long, so glad that you do what's right.
17 They rely on you, their glory and strength; by your grace you lift us up.
18 Yes, the Lord is the one who shields us, and our king belongs to the Holy One of Israel.
19 Once you spoke in a vision to your faithful servant and said, “I have given strength to the warrior I have chosen from the people to become king.
20 I have selected David my servant, and I have anointed him with the oil of my holiness.
21 I have placed my hand on him to steady him; and I have made him strong by my powerful arm.
22 His enemies will not deceive him; the wicked will not bring him down.
23 I will wipe out his enemies before him; I will strike down those who hate him.
24 My trustworthiness and unfailing love will be with him, and through me he will be victorious.
25 I will extend his rule from the Mediterranean Sea to the Euphrates River.
26 He will call out to me, ‘You are my Father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.’
27 I will also make him my first-born son, the highest of the kings of the earth.

9 (89-10) Thou rulest the proud swelling of the sea; when the waves thereof arise, Thou stillest them.
10 (89-11) Thou didst crush Rahab, as one that is slain; Thou didst scatter Thine enemies with the arm of Thy strength.
11 (89-12) Thine are the heavens, Thine also the earth; the world and the fulness thereof, Thou hast founded them.

Psalms 89:5-27 in Updated Brenton English Septuagint

5 Years shall be vanity to them: Let the morning pass away as grass.
6 In the morning let it flower, and pass away: In the evening let it droop, let it be withered and dried up.
7 For we have perished in thine anger, And in thy wrath we have been troubled.
8 Thou hast set our transgressions before thee: Our age is in the light of thy countenance.
9 For all our days are gone, And we have passed away in thy wrath: Our years have spun out their tale as a spider.
10 As for the days of our years, in them are seventy years; And if men should be in strength, eighty years: And the greater part of them would be labor and trouble; For weakness overtakes us, and we shall be chastened.
11 Who knows the power of thy wrath?
12 And who knows how to number his days Because of the fear of thy wrath? So manifest thy right hand, And those that are instructed in wisdom in the heart.
13 Return, O Lord, how long? And be entreated concerning thy servants.

14 Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.
15 Blessed are the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.
16 In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.
17 For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favor our horn shall be exalted.
18 For the LORD is our defense; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.
19 Then thou didst speak in vision to thy holy one, and say, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.
20 I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:
21 With whom my hand shall be established: my arm also shall strengthen him.
22 The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.
23 And I will beat down his foes before his face, and afflict them that hate him.
24 But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.
25 I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.
26 He shall cry to me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.
27 Also I will make him my first-born, higher than the kings of the earth.

Psalms 89:5-27 in World Messianic Bible

5 The heavens will praise your wonders, LORD, your faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones.
6 For who in the skies can be compared to the LORD? Who among the sons of the heavenly beings is like the LORD,
7 a very awesome God in the council of the holy ones, to be feared above all those who are around him?
8 LORD, God of Hosts, who is a mighty one, like you? The LORD, your faithfulness is around you.
9 You rule the pride of the sea. When its waves rise up, you calm them.
10 You have broken Rahab in pieces, like one of the slain. You have scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.
11 The heavens are yours. The earth also is yours, the world and its fullness. You have founded them.
12 You have created the north and the south. Tabor and Hermon rejoice in your name.
13 You have a mighty arm. Your hand is strong, and your right hand is exalted.
14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne. Loving kindness and truth go before your face.
15 Blessed are the people who learn to acclaim you. They walk in the light of your presence, LORD.
16 In your name they rejoice all day. In your righteousness, they are exalted.
17 For you are the glory of their strength. In your favor, our horn will be exalted.
18 For our shield belongs to the LORD, our king to the Holy One of Israel.
19 Then you spoke in vision to your holy ones, and said, “I have given strength to the warrior. I have exalted a young man from the people.
20 I have found David, my servant. I have anointed him with my holy oil,
21 with whom my hand shall be established. My arm will also strengthen him.
22 No enemy will tax him. No wicked man will oppress him.
23 I will beat down his adversaries before him, and strike those who hate him.
24 But my faithfulness and my loving kindness will be with him. In my name, his horn will be exalted.
25 I will set his hand also on the sea, and his right hand on the rivers.
26 He will call to me, ‘You are my Father, my God, and the rock of my salvation!’
27 I will also appoint him my firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth.

5 Lord, heavens shall acknowledge thy marvels; and thy truth in the church of saints.
6 For who in the clouds shall be made even to the Lord; shall be like God among the sons of God?
7 God, that is glorified in the council of saints; is great, and dreadful over all that be in his compass.
8 Lord God of virtues, who is like thee? Lord, thou art mighty, and thy truth is in thy compass.
9 Thou art Lord of the power of the sea; forsooth thou assuagest the stirring of the waves thereof.
10 Thou madest low the proud, as wounded; in the arm of thy strength thou hast scattered thine enemies.
11 Heavens be thine, and the earth is thine; thou hast founded the world, and the fullness thereof;
12 thou madest of nought the north and the sea. Tabor and Hermon shall make full out joy in thy name;
13 thine arm with power. Thine hand be made steadfast, and thy right hand be enhanced;
14 rightfulness or rightwiseness and doom is the making ready of thy seat. Mercy and truth shall go before thy face;
15 blessed is the people that know a hearty song. Lord, they shall go in the light of thy cheer;
16 and in thy name they shall make full out joy all day; and they shall be enhanced in thy rightfulness or right-wiseness.
17 For thou art the glory of the virtue of them; and in thy good pleasance our horn shall be enhanced.
18 For our taking up is of the Lord; and of the Holy of Israel our king.
19 Then thou spakest in revelation to thy saints, and saidest, I have set or put help in the mighty; and I have enhanced the chosen man of my people.
20 I found David, my servant; I anointed him with mine holy oil.
21 For mine hand shall help him; and mine arm shall confirm him.
22 The enemy shall nothing profit in him; and the son of wickedness shall not lay to or put to, for to annoy him.
23 And I shall slay his enemies from his face; and I shall turn into flight them that hate him.
24 And my truth and mercy shall be with him; and his horn shall be enhanced in my name.
25 And I shall set or put his hand in the sea; and his right hand in floods.
26 He shall inwardly call me, Thou art my father; my God, and the up-taker of mine health.
27 And I shall set him the first be-gotten son; higher than the kings of earth.

Psalms 89:5-27 in Young's Literal Translation

5 and the heavens confess Thy wonders, O Jehovah, Thy faithfulness also is in an assembly of holy ones.
6 For who in the sky, Compareth himself to Jehovah? Is like to Jehovah among sons of the mighty?
7 God is very terrible, In the secret counsel of His holy ones, And fearful over all surrounding Him.
8 O Jehovah, God of Hosts, Who is like Thee — a strong Jah? And Thy faithfulness is round about Thee.
9 Thou art ruler over the pride of the sea, In the lifting up of its billows Thou dost restrain them.
10 Thou hast bruised Rahab, as one wounded. With the arm of Thy strength Thou hast scattered Thine enemies.
11 Thine are the heavens — the earth also is Thine, The habitable world and its fulness, Thou hast founded them.
12 North and south Thou hast appointed them, Tabor and Hermon in Thy name do sing.
13 Thou hast an arm with might, Strong is Thy hand — high Thy right hand.
14 Righteousness and judgment Are the fixed place of Thy throne, Kindness and truth go before Thy face.
15 O the happiness of the people knowing the shout, O Jehovah, in the light of Thy face they walk habitually.
16 In Thy name they rejoice all the day, And in Thy righteousness they are exalted,
17 For the beauty of their strength art Thou, And in Thy good will is our horn exalted,
18 For of Jehovah is our shield, And of the Holy One of Israel our king.
19 Then Thou hast spoken in vision, To Thy saint, yea, Thou sayest, I have placed help upon a mighty one, Exalted a chosen one out of the people,
20 I have found David My servant, With My holy oil I have anointed him.
21 With whom My hand is established, My arm also doth strengthen him.
22 An enemy exacteth not upon him, And a son of perverseness afflicteth him not.
23 And I have beaten down before him his adversaries, And those hating him I plague,
24 And My faithfulness and kindness are with him, And in My name is his horn exalted.
25 And I have set on the sea his hand, And on the rivers his right hand.
26 He proclaimeth me: 'Thou art my Father, My God, and the rock of my salvation.'
27 I also first-born do appoint him, Highest of the kings of the earth.
