⁴² Thou hast exalted the right hand of his adversaries; Thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.

⁴³ Yea, thou turnest back the edge of his sword, And hast not made him to stand in the battle.

⁴⁴ Thou hast made his brightness to cease, And cast his throne down to the ground.

⁴⁵ The days of his youth hast thou shortened: Thou hast covered him with shame. Selah

⁴⁶ How long, O Jehovah? wilt thou hide thyself for ever? How long shall thy wrath burn like fire?

⁴⁷ Oh remember how short my time is: For what vanity hast thou created all the children of men!

⁴⁵ You have caused him to look old when he is still young and caused him to be very shamed/disgraced.

⁴⁶ O Yahweh, how long will this continue? Will you hide yourself forever? How long will your anger burn like a fire?

⁴⁷ Do not forget that life is very short; have you created all us people in vain?

⁴⁶ How long, Lord? Will you hide yourself from us forever, your anger burning like fire?

⁴⁷ Remember me—my life is so short! Why did you bother creating futile humanity?

⁴⁷ Bethink thou what is my substance; for whether thou hast ordained vainly all the sons of men?

⁴² Thou hast enhanced the right hand of men oppressing him; thou hast gladdened all his enemies.

⁴³ Thou hast turned away the help of his sword; and thou helpedest not him in battle. (Thou hast turned away the help from his sword; and thou hast not helped him in the battle.)

⁴⁴ Thou destroyedest him from cleansing; and thou hast hurled down his seat in earth. (Thou hast destroyed his purity; and thou hast thrown down his throne to the ground.)

⁴⁵ Thou hast made less the days of his time; thou hast beshed him with shame. (Thou hast lessened the days of his time; thou hast covered him with shame.)

⁴⁶ Lord, how long turnest thou away, into the end; shall thine ire burn out as fire? (Lord, how long turnest thou away, forever? shall thy anger always burn like fire?)

⁴⁷ Bethink thou what is my substance; for whether thou hast ordained vainly all the sons of men? (Remember thou what my substance is or how short my time is; hast thou ordained all the sons and daughters of men in vain?)

⁴² Thou hast exalted the right hand of his adversaries, Thou hast caused all his enemies to rejoice.

⁴³ Also — Thou turnest back the sharpness of his sword, And hast not established him in battle,

⁴⁴ Hast caused him to cease from his brightness, And his throne to the earth hast cast down.
