³⁴ My covenant will I not break, Nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

³⁵ Once have I sworn by my holiness: I will not lie unto David:

³⁶ His seed shall endure for ever, And his throne as the sun before me.

³⁷ It shall be established for ever as the moon, And as the faithful witness in the sky. Selah

³⁸ But thou hast cast off and rejected, Thou hast been wroth with thine anointed.

³⁹ Thou hast abhorred the covenant of thy servant: Thou hast profaned his crown by casting it to the ground.

⁴⁰ Thou hast broken down all his hedges; Thou hast brought his strongholds to ruin.

⁴¹ All that pass by the way rob him: He is become a reproach to his neighbors.

⁴² Thou hast exalted the right hand of his adversaries; Thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.

⁴³ Yea, thou turnest back the edge of his sword, And hast not made him to stand in the battle.

³⁵ Once I made a solemn promise to David, and that will never change, and because I am God, I will never lie to David.

³⁶ I promised that the line of kings descended from him will go on forever; it will last as long as the sun shines.

³⁷ That line will ◄be as permanent/last as long► as the moon that is always watching everything from the sky.

³⁸ But Yahweh, now you have rejected DOU David! You are very angry with the king whom you appointed.

³⁹ It seems that you have broken the agreement that you made with your servant, David; it seems as though you have signaled hat he is no longer the king by throwing his crown into the dust/dirt.

⁴⁰ You have torn down the walls that protect his city, and allowed all his forts to become ruins.

⁴¹ All those who pass by plunder/steal his possessions; his neighbors ◄laugh at/ridicule► him.

⁴² You have enabled his enemies to defeat him; you have made them all happy.

⁴³ You have caused his sword to become useless, and you have not helped him in his battles.

³⁴ I will not break my covenant, nor alter what my lips have uttered.

³⁵ Once I have sworn by my holiness, I will not lie to David.

³⁷ It will be fixed for ever like the moon; and the witness in heaven is true. (Selah.)

³⁸ But you have put him away in disgust; you have been angry with the king of your selection.

³⁹ You have made your agreement with your servant of no effect: you have had no respect for his crown, it has come down even to the earth.

⁴⁰ All his walls are broken down; you have given his strong towers to destruction.

⁴¹ All those who come by take away his goods; he is laughed at by his neighbours.

⁴² You have given power to the right hand of his haters; you have made glad all those who are against him.

⁴³ His sword is turned back; you have not been his support in the fight.

³⁴ My covenant will I not profane, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

⁴² Thou hast exalted the right hand of his oppressors; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice:

⁴³ Yea, thou hast turned back the edge of his sword, and hast not made him stand in the battle.

³⁴ I will not annul the agreement I have with him; I will not alter a single word I've said.

³⁵ By my holy character I have made a vow to David that I will not lie to him.

³⁶ His royal line will last forever, and his dynasty will continue before me as long as the sun endures.

³⁷ It will continue forever like the moon, an enduring witness in the heavens.” Selah.

³⁸ But you have rejected and abandoned him! You are angry with your chosen king!

³⁹ You have broken the agreement you had with him; you have thrown his crown to the ground!

⁴⁰ You have torn down his defensive walls; you have ruined his fortresses.

⁴¹ Everyone who passes by has robbed him; he has become an object of mockery to the nations nearby.

⁴² You have made his enemies strong; you have made them celebrate their victory.

⁴³ You have repelled his sharp sword; you have not helped him in battle.

³⁴ My couenant wil I not breake, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

³⁵ I haue sworne once by mine holines, that I will not fayle Dauid, saying,

³⁶ His seede shall endure for euer, and his throne shalbe as the sunne before me.

³⁷ He shalbe established for euermore as the moone, and as a faythfull witnes in the heauen. Selah.

³⁸ But thou hast reiected and abhorred, thou hast bene angry with thine Anoynted.

³⁹ Thou hast broken the couenant of thy seruant, and profaned his crowne, casting it on the ground.

⁴⁰ Thou hast broken downe all his walles: thou hast layd his fortresses in ruine.

⁴¹ All that goe by the way, spoyle him: he is a rebuke vnto his neighbours.

⁴² Thou hast set vp the right hand of his enemies, and made all his aduersaries to reioyce.

⁴³ Thou hast also turned the edge of his sworde, and hast not made him to stand in the battell.

⁴³ (89:44) Thou hast also turned the edge of his sword, and hast not let him stand erect in the battle.

³⁴ I will not break my covenant, Nor alter what hath gone from my lips.

³⁵ Once have I sworn in my holiness, That I will not be false unto David.

³⁶ His family shall endure for ever, And his throne as the sun before me.

³⁷ It shall be established for ever like the moon; Like the faithful witness in the sky.”

³⁸ But now thou forsakest and abhorrest, And art angry with, thine anointed.

³⁴ “I will not profane my covenant by changing the word that has passed my lips.

³⁵ Once have I solemnly sworn and I would not lie to David,

³⁶ “that his line should endure forever, and his throne as the sun before me,

³⁷ firm as the moon which for ever and ever is fixed in the sky.” Selah

³⁸ But you have cast off in contempt, and been furious with your anointed.

³⁹ You have spurned the covenant with your servant, and his sacred crown dashed to the ground.

⁴⁰ Thou destroyedest all the hedges thereof; thou hast set the steadfastness thereof into dread.

⁴¹ All men passing by the way ravished him; he is made a shame to his neighbours.

⁴² Thou hast enhanced the right hand of men oppressing him; thou hast gladdened all his enemies.

⁴³ Thou hast turned away the help of his sword; and thou helpedest not him in battle.

³⁴ Neither I shall make unholy my testament; and I shall not make void those things that come forth of my lips. (Nor shall I break my covenant; and I shall not make void those things which come forth from my lips, that is, I shall not break my promises.)

³⁶ his seed shall dwell into without end. And his throne as the sun in my sight, (his children, that is, his descendants, shall live forever. And his throne shall be before me like the sun,)

³⁷ and as a perfect moon without end; and a faithful witness in heaven. (and like the moon, which shall endure forever; yea, like a faithful witness in the heavens.)

³⁸ But thou hast put away, and despised; and hast delayed thy christ. (But thou hast rejected, and despised, and hast raged against thy anointed king.)

³⁹ Thou hast turned away the testament of thy servant; thou madest unholy his saintuary in earth. (Thou hast made void the covenant with thy servant; thou hast defiled his crown, and hast thrown it to the ground.)

⁴⁰ Thou destroyedest all the hedges thereof; thou hast set the steadfastness thereof (into) dread (or thou hast brought down his strongholds, or his fortresses, into ruin).

⁴¹ All men passing by the way ravished him; he is made (a) shame to his neighbours. (All who pass by him, on the way, rob him; he is shamed by his neighbours.)

⁴² Thou hast enhanced the right hand of men oppressing him; thou hast gladdened all his enemies.

⁴³ Thou hast turned away the help of his sword; and thou helpedest not him in battle. (Thou hast turned away the help from his sword; and thou hast not helped him in the battle.)

³⁴ I profane not My covenant, And that which is going forth from My lips I change not.

³⁵ Once I have sworn by My holiness, I lie not to David,

³⁶ His seed is to the age, And his throne is as the sun before Me,

³⁷ As the moon it is established — to the age, And the witness in the sky is stedfast. Selah.

³⁸ And Thou, Thou hast cast off, and dost reject, Thou hast shown Thyself wroth With Thine anointed,

³⁹ Hast rejected the covenant of Thy servant, Thou hast polluted to the earth his crown,

⁴¹ Spoiled him have all passing by the way, He hath been a reproach to his neighbours,
