¹ Maschil of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing of the lovingkindness of Jehovah for ever: With my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.

² For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever; Thy faithfulness wilt thou establish in the very heavens.

³ I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant:

⁴ Thy seed will I establish for ever, And build up thy throne to all generations. Selah

⁵ And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O Jehovah; Thy faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones.

⁶ For who in the skies can be compared unto Jehovah? Who among the sons of the mighty is like unto Jehovah,

⁷ A God very terrible in the council of the holy ones, And to be feared above all them that are round about him?

⁸ O Jehovah God of hosts, Who is a mighty one, like unto thee, O Jehovah? And thy faithfulness is round about thee.

⁹ Thou rulest the pride of the sea: When the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.

¹⁰ Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; Thou hast scattered thine enemies with the arm of thy strength.

¹¹ The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: The world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them.

¹² The north and the south, thou hast created them: Tabor and Hermon rejoice in thy name.

¹³ Thou hast a mighty arm; Strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.

¹⁴ Righteousness and justice are the foundation of thy throne: Lovingkindness and truth go before thy face.

¹⁵ Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: They walk, O Jehovah, in the light of thy countenance.

¹⁶ In thy name do they rejoice all the day; And in thy righteousness are they exalted.

¹⁷ For thou art the glory of their strength; And in thy favor our horn shall be exalted.

¹⁸ For our shield belongeth unto Jehovah; And our king to the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁹ Then thou spakest in vision to thy saints, And saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.

²⁰ I have found David my servant; With my holy oil have I anointed him:

²¹ With whom my hand shall be established; Mine arm also shall strengthen him.

¹ A Prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, thou hast been our refuge in all generations.

² Before the mountains existed, and before the earth and the world were formed, even from age to age, Thou art.

³ Turn not man back to his low place, whereas thou saidst, Return, ye sons of men?

⁴ For a thousand years in thy sight are as the yesterday which is past, and as a watch in the night.

⁵ Years shall be vanity to them: let the morning pass away as grass.

⁶ In the morning let it flower, and pass away: in the evening let it droop, let it be withered and dried up.

⁷ For we have perished in thine anger, and in thy wrath we have been troubled.

⁸ Thou hast set our transgressions before thee: our age is in the light of thy countenance.

⁹ For all our days are gone, and we have passed away in thy wrath: our years have spun out their tale as a spider.

¹⁰ As for the days of our years, in them are seventy years; and if men should be in strength, eighty years: and the greater part of them would be labour and trouble; for weakness overtakes us, and we shall be chastened.

¹¹ Who knows the power of thy wrath?

¹² and who knows how to number his days because of the fear of thy wrath? So manifest thy right hand, and those that are instructed in wisdom in the heart.

¹³ Return, O Lord, how long? and be intreated concerning thy servants.

¹⁴ We have been satisfied in the morning with thy mercy; and we did exult and rejoice:

¹⁵ let us rejoice in all our days, in return for the days wherein thou didst afflict us, the years wherein we saw evil.

¹⁶ And look upon thy servants, and upon thy works; and guide their children.

¹⁷ And let the brightness of the Lord our God be upon us: and do thou direct for us the works of our hands.

⁹ Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.

¹⁰ Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm.

¹¹ The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them.

¹ Yahweh, I will sing forever about the ways you faithfully love me; people not yet born will hear that you faithfully do all that you have promised.

² I will tell people that you will faithfully love us forever, and that your being faithful to do what you have promised is as permanent as the sky.

³ Yahweh said, “I have made an agreement with David, whom I chose to serve me. I have made this solemn ◄agreement with/promise to► him:

⁴ ‘I will enable various ones of your descendants to always be kings; the line of kings descended from you MTY will never end.’”

⁵ Yahweh, I desire that all those beings who are in MTY heaven will praise you for the wonderful things that you do, and that all your holy angels will sing about how you faithfully do what you promise.

⁶ There is no one RHQ in heaven who can be compared with you, Yahweh. There are no angels RHQ in heaven who are equal to you.

⁷ When your holy angels gather together, they declare that you must be revered; they say that you are more awesome than all the angels that surround your throne!

⁸ O Yahweh, God Almighty, there is no one RHQ who is powerful like you are; your faithfully doing all that you promise is like a cloak that MET always surrounds you.

⁹ You rule over the powerful seas; when their waves rise up, you calm them.

¹⁰ You are the one who crushed and killed the great sea monster named Rahab. You defeated and scattered your enemies with your great power MTY.

¹¹ The heavens are yours, and the earth is yours; and everything on the earth is yours, because you created it all.

¹² You created everything from the north to the south. Mount Tabor and Mount Hermon joyfully praise you MTY.

¹³ ◄You/Your arms► are very powerful; ◄you/your hands► are extremely strong.

¹⁴ ◄Your rule MTY over us is based on/As you rule over us, you are always► treating people fairly and justly, and on/are always faithfully loving us and doing what you promised.

¹⁵ Yahweh, happy are the people who worship you with joyful shouts, who live knowing that you are always watching over them.

¹⁶ Every day, throughout the day, they rejoice in what you MTY have done, and they praise you for being very good to them.

¹⁷ You give us your glorious strength; because you act in our favor, we defeat MET our enemies.

¹⁸ Yahweh, you gave us the one who protects us MET; you, the holy God whom we Israelis worship, chose a king for us.

¹⁹ Long ago you spoke in a vision to one of your servants/prophets, saying, “I have helped a famous soldier; I chose him from among all the people to be a king.

²⁰ That man is David, the one who will serve me faithfully, and I anointed him with sacred olive oil to make him king.

²¹ I MTY will always strengthen him; with my power MTY I will make him strong.

³ “I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David, my servant,

⁴ ‘I will establish your offspring forever, and build up your throne to all generations.’” Selah.

⁵ The heavens will praise your wonders, Yahweh, your faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones.

² For you have said, Mercy will be made strong for ever; my faith will be unchanging in the heavens.

³ I have made an agreement with the man of my selection, I have made an oath to David my servant;

⁴ I will make your seed go on for ever, your kingdom will be strong through all generations. (Selah.)

⁵ In heaven let them give praise for your wonders, O Lord; and your unchanging faith among the saints.

⁶ For who is there in the heavens in comparison with the Lord? who is like the Lord among the sons of the gods?

⁷ God is greatly to be feared among the saints, and to be honoured over all those who are about him.

⁸ O Lord God of armies, who is strong like you, O Jah? and your unchanging faith is round about you.

⁹ You have rule over the sea in storm; when its waves are troubled, you make them calm.

¹⁰ Rahab was crushed by you like one wounded to death; with your strong arm you put to flight all your haters.

¹¹ Yours are the heavens, and the earth is yours; you have made the world, and everything which is in it.

¹² You have made the north and the south; Tabor and Hermon are sounding with joy at your name.

¹³ Yours is an arm of power; strong is your hand and high your right hand.

¹⁴ The seat of your kingdom is resting on righteousness and right judging: mercy and good faith come before your face.

¹⁵ Happy are the people who have knowledge of the holy cry: the light of your face, O Lord, will be shining on their way.

¹⁶ In your name will they have joy all the day: in your righteousness will they be lifted up.

¹⁷ For you are the glory of their strength; in your pleasure will our horn be lifted up.

¹⁸ For our breastplate is the Lord; and our king is the Holy One of Israel's.

¹⁹ Then your voice came to your holy one in a vision, saying, I have put the crown on a strong one, lifting up one taken from among the people.

²⁰ I have made discovery of David my servant; I have put my holy oil on his head.

²¹ My hand will be his support; my arm will give him strength.

¹ An instruction. Of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing of the loving-kindness of Jehovah for ever; with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness from generation to generation.

² For I said, Loving-kindness shall be built up for ever; in the very heavens wilt thou establish thy faithfulness.

³ I have made a covenant with mine elect, I have sworn unto David my servant:

⁶ For who in heaven can compare to the Lord? Who is like the Lord even among the angels?

⁷ The heavenly council are in awe of God; all who surround him are overwhelmed by him.

⁸ Lord God Almighty, who is as powerful as you? In all this, Lord, you are completely trustworthy.

⁹ You rule the restless seas; you calm their stormy waves.

¹⁰ You crushed Rahab the sea-monster to death; by your power you scattered your enemies.

¹¹ The heavens belong to you, and the earth too; you made the world and everything in it.

¹² You created north and south; Mount Tabor and Mount Hermon celebrate you.

¹³ Your arm is powerful. Your hand is strong. Your right hand is held up high in command.

¹⁴ Your character of goodness and fairness is the basis for the way you rule; dependable love and trustworthiness are always with you.

¹⁵ How happy are those who know how to shout your praises, Lord. They live in the light of your presence.

¹⁶ They celebrate the person you are all day long, so glad that you do what's right.

¹⁷ They rely on you, their glory and strength; by your grace you lift us up.

¹⁸ Yes, the Lord is the one who shields us, and our king belongs to the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁹ Once you spoke in a vision to your faithful servant and said, “I have given strength to the warrior I have chosen from the people to become king.

²⁰ I have selected David my servant, and I have anointed him with the oil of my holiness.

²¹ I have placed my hand on him to steady him; and I have made him strong by my powerful arm.

⁵ Lord, heavens shall acknowledge thy marvels; and thy truth in the church of saints. (Lord, the heavens shall praise thy marvellous deeds; and the council of the saints shall praise thy faithfulness.)

⁶ For who in the clouds shall be made even to the Lord; shall be like God among the sons of God? (For who in heaven shall be made equal to the Lord? who shall be like God among the heavenly beings? or who shall be like God in the council of heaven?)

⁷ God, that is glorified in the council of saints; is great, and dreadful over all that be in his compass. (God, thou art feared or thou art revered, in the council of the saints; thou art great, and glorified above all who surround thee.)

⁸ Lord God of virtues, who is like thee? Lord, thou art mighty, and thy truth is in thy compass. (Lord God of hosts, who is like thee? Lord, thou art mighty, and thy faithfulness surroundeth thee.)

⁹ Thou art ruler over the pride of the sea, In the lifting up of its billows Thou dost restrain them.

¹⁰ Thou hast bruised Rahab, as one wounded. With the arm of Thy strength Thou hast scattered Thine enemies.

¹¹ Thine are the heavens — the earth also is Thine, The habitable world and its fulness, Thou hast founded them.

¹² North and south Thou hast appointed them, Tabor and Hermon in Thy name do sing.

¹⁵ O the happiness of the people knowing the shout, O Jehovah, in the light of Thy face they walk habitually.

¹⁷ For the beauty of their strength art Thou, And in Thy good will is our horn exalted,
