⁵ Cast off among the dead, Like the slain that lie in the grave, Whom thou rememberest no more, And they are cut off from thy hand.

⁶ Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit, In dark places, in the deeps.

⁷ Thy wrath lieth hard upon me, And thou hast afflicted me with all thy waves. Selah

⁸ Thou hast put mine acquaintance far from me; Thou hast made me an abomination unto them: I am shut up, and I cannot come forth.

⁹ Mine eye wasteth away by reason of affliction: I have called daily upon thee, O Jehovah; I have spread forth my hands unto thee.

¹⁰ Wilt thou show wonders to the dead? Shall they that are deceased arise and praise thee? Selah

⁵ I will establish thy seed for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Pause.

⁶ The heavens shall declare thy wonders, O Lord; and thy truth in the assembly of the saints.

⁷ For who in the heavens shall be compared to the Lord? and who shall be likened to the Lord among the sons of God?

⁸ God is glorified in the council of the saints; great and terrible toward all that are round about him.

⁹ O Lord God of hosts, who is like to thee? thou art mighty, O Lord, and thy truth is round about thee.

¹⁰ Thou rulest the power of the sea; and thou calmest the tumult of its waves.

⁵ Free among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, whom thou rememberest no more: and they are cut off from thy hand.

⁶ Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit, in darkness, in the deeps.

⁵ I am like a corpse that has been abandoned; I am like dead people who lie in their graves, people who have been completely forgotten, because you do not take care of them anymore.

⁶ It is as though you have thrown me into a deep, dark pit, into a place where they throw corpses.

⁷ It seems like you are very angry with me, and it is as though you have crushed me like ocean waves crash down on people MET.

⁸ You have caused my friends to ◄avoid/stay away from► me; I have become repulsive to them. It is as though I am in a prison and cannot escape.

⁹ My eyes cannot see well because I cry very much. Yahweh, every day I call out to you to help me; I lift up my hands to you while I pray.

¹⁰ You certainly do not RHQ perform miracles for dead people! Their spirits do not RHQ arise to praise you!

⁸ You have sent my friends far away from me; you have made me a disgusting thing in their eyes: I am shut up, and not able to come out.

⁹ My eyes are wasting away because of my trouble: Lord, my cry has gone up to you every day, my hands are stretched out to you.

¹⁰ Will you do works of wonder for the dead? will the shades come back to give you praise? (Selah.)

⁵ Prostrate among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave; whom thou rememberest no more, and who are cut off from thy hand.

⁹ Mine eye consumeth by reason of affliction. Upon thee, Jehovah, have I called every day; I have stretched out my hands unto thee.

¹⁰ Wilt thou do wonders to the dead? shall the shades arise and praise thee? Selah.

⁵ Thy seed will I settle for ever. And I will build up thy throne unto generation and generation.

⁶ The heavens shall confess thy wonders, O Lord: and thy truth in the church of the saints.

⁷ For who in the clouds can be compared to the Lord: or who among the sons of God shall be like to God?

⁸ God, who is glorified in the assembly of the saints: great and terrible above all them that are about him.

⁹ O Lord God of hosts, who is like to thee? thou art mighty, O Lord, and thy truth is round about thee.

¹⁰ Thou rulest the power of the sea: and appeasest the motion of the waves thereof.

⁵ I am abandoned among the dead, lying like a corpse in the grave, forgotten and beyond your care.

⁶ You have placed me in a deep pit, in the depths of darkness.

⁷ Your hostility crushes me; you are drowning me under your crashing waves. Selah.

⁸ You have made my friends avoid me by making me look repulsive to them. I'm trapped, I can't go out.

⁹ I've cried my eyes out begging you every day for your help, Lord, holding out my hands to you.

¹⁰ Do you do miracles among the dead? Do the dead stand up to praise you? Selah.

⁹ Mine eye is sorowfull through mine affliction: Lord, I call dayly vpon thee: I stretch out mine hands vnto thee.

¹⁰ Wilt thou shewe a miracle to the dead? or shall the dead rise and prayse thee? Selah.

⁸ (88:9) Thou hast removed my acquaintances far from me; thou hast rendered me an abomination unto them: I am imprisoned, and I cannot go forth.

⁹ (88:10) My eye languisheth by reason of affliction: I call on thee, O Lord, every day, I stretch out unto thee my hands.

¹⁰ (88:11) Wilt thou display wonders to the dead? shall the departed arise and thank thee? Selah.

⁹ Mine eyes languish by reason of my affliction. I call upon thee daily, O LORD! To thee do I stretch out my hands!

⁶ They have put me in the lower pit; in dark places, and in the shadow of death.

⁷ Thy strong vengeance is confirmed on me; and thou hast brought in all thy waves on me.

⁸ Thou hast made far from me my known; they have set or put me abom-ination to themselves. I am taken in, and I went not out;

⁹ mine eyes were sick or enfeebled for poverty. Lord, I cried to thee; all day I spreaded abroad mine hands to thee.

¹⁰ Whether thou shalt do marvels to dead men; either leeches shall raise them up, and they shall acknowledge to thee?

⁵ and free among dead men. As men wounded sleeping in sepulchres, of which men none (thou) is mindful (of) after; and they be put away from thine hand. (and free among the dead. Like the slain who sleep in tombs, or graves, of whom there is no one thou remembereth any more; yea, they all be cut off from thy help, or thy care.)

⁶ They have put me in the lower pit; in dark places, and in the shadow of death.

⁷ Thy strong vengeance is confirmed on me (or Thy fury hath raged against me); and thou hast brought in all thy waves on me.

⁸ Thou hast made far from me my known; they have set me (an) abomination to themselves. I am taken (in), and I went not out; (Thou hast taken all my friends far away from me; thou hast made me an abomination to them. I am enclosed, and I cannot go out;)

⁹ mine eyes were sick for poverty or mine eyes (were) (en)feebled for mis-ease. Lord, I cried to thee; all day I spreaded abroad mine hands to thee. (my eyes have been weakened from suffering. Lord, I cried to thee; and every day I spread abroad my hands to thee.)

¹⁰ Whether thou shalt do marvels to dead men; either leeches shall raise (them up), and they shall acknowledge to thee? (Shalt thou do marvellous deeds for the dead? or shall physicians raise them up, and then they shall praise thee?)

⁵ Among the dead — free, As pierced ones lying in the grave, Whom Thou hast not remembered any more, Yea, they by Thy hand have been cut off.

⁶ Thou hast put me in the lowest pit, In dark places, in depths.

⁷ Upon me hath Thy fury lain, And with all Thy breakers Thou hast afflicted. Selah.

⁸ Thou hast put mine acquaintance far from me, Thou hast made me an abomination to them, Shut up — I go not forth.

⁹ Mine eye hath grieved because of affliction, I called Thee, O Jehovah, all the day, I have spread out unto Thee my hands.

¹⁰ To the dead dost Thou do wonders? Do Rephaim rise? do they thank Thee? Selah.
