³ Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah

⁴ I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon as among them that know me: Behold, Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia: This one was born there.

⁵ Yea, of Zion it shall be said, This one and that one was born in her; And the Most High himself will establish her.

⁶ Jehovah will count, when he writeth up the peoples, This one was born there. Selah

³ Let my prayer come in before thee; incline thine ear to my supplication, O Lord.

⁴ For my soul is filled with troubles, and my life has drawn nigh to Hades.

⁵ I have been reckoned with them that go down to the pit; I became as a man without help;

⁶ free among the dead, as the slain ones cast out, who sleep in the tomb; whom thou rememberest no more; and they are rejected from thy hand.

⁴ Some of those who know about God are the people of Egypt and Babylonia, and also the people of Philistia and Tyre and Ethiopia; some day they all will say, “ Although I was not born in Jerusalem, because I belong to Yahweh, it is as though I was born there.”

⁵ And concerning Jerusalem, people will say “It is as though everyone was born there, and Almighty God will cause that city to remain strong/safe/secure.”

⁶ Yahweh will write a list of the names of the people of various groups who belong to him, and he will say that he considers them all to be citizens of Jerusalem.

³ For my soul is filled with troubles, and my life has drawn near to Hades.

⁴ I have been reckoned with them that go down to the pit; I became as a man without help;

⁵ free amongst the dead, as the slain ones cast out, who sleep in the tomb; whom you remember no more; and they are rejected from your hand.

⁶ They laid me in the lowest pit, in dark places, and in the shadow of death.

⁴ Rahab and Babylon will be named among those who have knowledge of me; see, Philistia and Tyre, with Ethiopia; this man had his birth there.

⁵ And of Zion it will be said, This or that man had his birth there; and the Most High will make her strong.

⁶ The Lord will keep in mind, when he is writing the records of the people, that this man had his birth there. (Selah.)

³ Let my prayer come in before thee: incline thy ear to my petition.

⁴ For my soul is filled with evils: and my life hath drawn nigh to hell.

⁵ I am counted among them that go down to the pit: I am become as a man without help,

⁶ Free among the dead. Like the slain sleeping in the sepulchres, whom thou rememberest no more: and they are cast off from thy hand.

³ Many wonderful things are said of you, city of God! Selah.

⁴ I mention Egypt and Babylon as those who know me, and in addition Philistia, Tyre, and Ethiopia—“this man was born there.”

⁵ It will be said concerning Jerusalem, “Everyone was born there,” and the Most High will make it secure.

⁶ When the Lord registers the nations, he will write, “They were born there.” Selah.

³ Glorious things are spoken of thee, O citie of God. Selah.

⁴ I will make mention of Rahab and Babel among them that knowe me: beholde Palestina and Tyrus with Ethiopia, There is he borne.

⁵ And of Zion it shall be sayde, Many are borne in her: and he, euen the most High shall stablish her.

⁶ The Lord shall count, when hee writeth the people, He was borne there. Selah.

⁴ “Amongst those who are mine I name Rahab and Babylon, Philistia, Tyre, Ethiopia, their people will say I was born in Zion.

⁵ As for Zion it will be said each and all were born in her.” The Lord will preserve her.

⁶ The Lord will count, when enrolling the peoples, “This one was born there, and that one was born there.” Selah

⁵ Whether a man shall say to Zion, And a man is born therein; and that man, alder Highest, founded it?

⁶ The Lord shall tell in the scriptures of these peoples; and of these princes, that were therein.

³ Thou city of God, without end; glorious things be said of thee. (Thou city of God; may glorious things be said of thee forever.)

⁴ I shall be mindful of Rahab, and Babylon; knowing me. Lo! aliens, and Tyre, and the people of Ethiopians; they were there. (I shall remember (the people of) Rahab, and of Babylon; they all know me. Behold! Philistia, and Tyre, and the Ethiopian people; they all were there.)

⁵ Whether a man shall say to Zion, And a man is born therein; and that man, (the) alder Highest, founded it? (And of Zion it shall be said, This person, and that person, were born there; and the Most High himself founded it.)

⁶ The Lord shall tell in the scriptures of (these) peoples; and of these princes, that were therein. (The Lord shall write of these peoples; and of their princes, or their leaders, who all were there.)

³ Honourable things are spoken in Thee, O city of God. Selah.

⁴ I mention Rahab and Babel to those knowing Me, Lo, Philistia, and Tyre, with Cush! This one was born there.

⁵ And of Zion it is said: Each one was born in her, And He, the Most High, doth establish her.

⁶ Jehovah doth recount in the describing of the peoples, 'This one was born there.' Selah.
