² For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult; And they that hate thee have lifted up the head.

³ They take crafty counsel against thy people, And consult together against thy hidden ones.

⁴ They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; That the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.

⁵ For they have consulted together with one consent; Against thee do they make a covenant:

⁶ The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab, and the Hagarenes;

⁷ Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre:

⁸ Assyria also is joined with them; They have helped the children of Lot. Selah

⁹ Do thou unto them as unto Midian, As to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon;

² How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts!

³ My soul longs, and faints for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh have exulted in the living God.

⁴ Yea, the sparrow has found himself a home, and the turtle-dove a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.

⁵ Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will praise thee evermore. Pause.

⁶ Blessed is the man whose help is of thee, O Lord; in his heart he has purposed to go up

⁷ the valley of weeping, to the place which he has appointed, for there the law-giver will grant blessings.

⁸ They shall go from strength to strength: the God of gods shall be seen in Sion.

⁹ O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: hearken, O God of Jacob. Pause.

¹ God, do not continue to be silent! Do not be quiet and say nothing,

² because your enemies are rioting against you; those who hate you are rebelling against you!

³ They are secretly planning to do things to harm us, your people; they are ◄conspiring together against/planning how to defeat► the people whom you protect.

⁴ They say, “Come, we must destroy their nation, with the result that no one will remember that Israel ever existed!”

⁵ They have agreed on what they want to do to destroy Israel, and they have formed an alliance against you.

⁶ The people who have done that are the people of Edom region, the descendants of Ishmael who live on the east side of the Jordan River, the Moab people-group, the descendants of Hagar who also live on the east side of the Jordan River,

⁷ Gebal people-group, the Ammon people-group, the Amalek people-group, the Philistia people-group, and the people of Tyre city.

⁸ The people of Assyria have joined them; they are strong allies of the Moab and Ammon people-groups, who are descendants of Abraham's nephew Lot.

⁹ God, do to those people things like you did to the Midian people-group, like you did to Sisera and Jabin at Kishon River.

⁴ They have said, Come, let us put an end to them as a nation; so that the name of Israel may go out of man's memory.

⁵ For they have all come to an agreement; they are all joined together against you:

⁶ The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab and the Hagarites;

⁷ Gebal and Ammon and Amalek; the Philistines and the people of Tyre;

⁸ Assur is joined with them; they have become the support of the children of Lot. (Selah.)

¹ Unto the end, for the winepresses, a psalm for the sons of Core.

² How lovely are thy tabernacles, O Lord of host!

³ My soul longeth and fainteth for the courts of the Lord. My heart and my flesh have rejoiced in the living God.

⁴ For the sparrow hath found herself a house, and the turtle a nest for herself where she may lay her young ones: Thy altars, O Lord of hosts, my king and my God.

⁵ Blessed are they that dwell in thy house, O Lord: they shall praise thee for ever and ever.

⁶ Blessed is the man whose help is from thee: in his heart he hath disposed to ascend by steps,

⁷ In the vale of tears, in the place which be hath set.

⁸ For the lawgiver shall give a blessing, they shall go from virtue to virtue: the God of gods shall be seen in Sion.

⁹ O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob.

¹ A song. A psalm of Asaph. God, please do not stay silent! You can't remain unmoved! God, you must not keep quiet!

² Can't you hear the roars of your enemies? Can't you see how those who hate you are defiantly lifting up their heads?

³ They invent cunning plans to conspire against your people; they plot against those you treasure.

⁴ They say, “Come on! Let's destroy them as a nation so the name ‘Israel’ will be completely forgotten.”

⁵ They all agree in their conspiracy; they've made a treaty together to attack you—

⁶ the people of Edom, the Ishmaelites, Moab, and the Hagirites;

⁷ the people of Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, Philistia, and the inhabitants of Tyre.

⁸ Assyria too has joined them, allied with the descendants of Lot. Selah.

⁹ Do to them what you did to Midian, what you did to Sisera and Jabin at the Kishon River.

¹ A song, or Psalme committed to Asaph. Keep not thou silence, O God: bee not still, and cease not, O God.

² For lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee, haue lifted vp the head.

³ They haue taken craftie counsell against thy people, and haue consulted against thy secret ones.

⁴ They haue said, Come and let vs cut them off from being a nation: and let the name of Israel be no more in remembrance.

⁵ For they haue consulted together in heart, and haue made a league against thee:

⁸ Asshur also is ioyned with them: they haue bene an arme to the children of Lot. Selah.

⁴ They said, Come ye, and lose we them from the folk; and the name of Israel be no more had in mind.

⁵ For they thought with one accord;

⁶ the tabernacles of Idumeans, and men of Ishmael disposed a testament together against thee. Moab, and Hag-arenes,

⁷ Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; and the aliens with them that dwell in Tyre.

⁸ For Assur cometh with them; they be made into help to the sons of Lot.

⁹ Make thou to them as to Midian, and Sisera; as to Jabin, in the strand or stream of Kishon.

² For lo! thine enemies sounded; and they that hate thee raised the head. (For behold! thy enemies have raised a ruckus; and those who hate thee have raised up their heads in revolt, (or in defiance).)

³ They made a wicked counsel on thy people; and they thought against thy saints. (They made wicked plans against thy people; yea, they thought together against thy saints.)

⁴ They said, Come ye, and lose we them from the folk; and the name of Israel be no more had in mind. (They said, Come ye, and let us destroy their nation; and then the name of Israel shall no more be remembered.)

⁵ For they thought with one accord; (For they thought with one accord; they proposed together a plan against thee or they conspired to work together against thee;)

⁶ the tabernacles of Idumeans, and men of Ishmael disposed a testament together against thee. Moab, and Hagarenes, (yea, the families of the Edomites, and the Ishmaelites; and the Moabites, and the Hagarenes;)

⁷ Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; (and the) aliens with them that dwell in Tyre. (and the peoples of Gebal, and of Ammon, and of Amalek; and the Philistines, and those who live in Tyre.)

⁸ For Assur cometh with them; they be made into help to the sons of Lot. (And the Assyrians also come with them; they all want to help the sons and daughters of Lot.)

⁹ Make thou to them as to Midian, and Sisera; as to Jabin, in the strand of Kison. (Do thou to them like thou did to the Midianites, and to Sisera; and to Jabin, at the Kishon Stream.)

³ Against Thy people they take crafty counsel, And consult against Thy hidden ones.

⁴ They have said, 'Come, And we cut them off from being a nation, And the name of Israel is not remembered any more.'

⁵ For they consulted in heart together, Against Thee a covenant they make,

⁶ Tents of Edom, and Ishmaelites, Moab, and the Hagarenes,

⁷ Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek, Philistia with inhabitants of Tyre,

⁸ Asshur also is joined with them, They have been an arm to sons of Lot. Selah.
