² How long will ye judge unjustly, And respect the persons of the wicked? Selah

³ Judge the poor and fatherless: Do justice to the afflicted and destitute.

⁴ Rescue the poor and needy: Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.

⁵ They know not, neither do they understand; They walk to and fro in darkness: All the foundations of the earth are shaken.

⁶ I said, Ye are gods, And all of you sons of the Most High.

⁷ Nevertheless ye shall die like men, And fall like one of the princes.

² O God, who shall be compared to thee? be not silent, neither be still, O God.

³ For behold, thine enemies have made a noise; and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.

⁴ Against thy people they have craftily imagined a device, and have taken counsel against thy saints.

⁵ They have said, Come, and let us utterly destroy them out of the nation; and let the name of Israel be remembered no more at all.

⁶ For they have taken counsel together with one consent: they have made a confederacy against thee;

⁷ even the tents of the Idumeans, and the Ismaelites; Moab, and the Agarenes;

⁸ Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalec; the Philistines also, with them that dwell at Tyre.

⁸ Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all the nations.

¹ God gathers all the rulers and judges who think they are gods for a meeting in heaven; and he tells them that he has decided this:

² “You must RHQ stop judging people unfairly; you must no longer make decisions that favor wicked people!

³ You must defend people who are poor and orphans; you must act fairly toward those who are needy and those who have no one to help them.

⁴ Rescue them from the power MTY of evil people DOU!”

⁵ Those rulers do not know or understand anything! They are very corrupt/evil, and as a result of their corrupt/evil behavior, it is as though the foundation of the world is being shaken!

⁶ I the all-powerful God, previously said to them, “You think you are gods! It is as though you are all my sons,

⁷ but you will die like people do; your lives will end, like the lives of all rulers end.”

⁸ God, arise and judge everyone on MTY the earth, because all the people-groups belong to you!

³ Give ear to the cause of the poor and the children without fathers; let those who are troubled and in need have their rights.

⁴ Be the saviour of the poor and those who have nothing: take them out of the hand of the evil-doers.

⁵ They have no knowledge or sense; they go about in the dark: all the bases of the earth are moved.

⁶ I said, You are gods; all of you are the sons of the Most High:

⁷ But you will come to death like men, falling like one of the rulers of the earth.

⁸ Up! O God, come as judge of the earth; for all the nations are your heritage.

⁷ The tabernacles of the Edomites, and the Ismahelites: Moab, and the Agarens,

⁸ Gebal, and Ammon and Amalec: the Philistines, with the inhabitants of Tyre.

² How long will you make unfair judgments and show favoritism to the wicked? Selah.

³ Defend the poor and orphans; support the rights of those who are oppressed and suffering.

⁴ Rescue the poor and those unable to help themselves; save them from the clutches of evil people.

⁵ They don't have any wisdom; they live in the dark; the foundations of the earth are shaken.

⁶ I say, “You are gods; all of you are children of the Most High.

⁷ But you will die like any human being, you will fall like any other leader.”

⁸ Stand up, Lord, and judge the earth, for all the nations belong to you.

² How long deem ye with wicked-ness; and take the faces of sinners?

³ Deem ye to the needy man, and to the motherless child; justify ye the meek man and poor.

⁴ Ravish ye out a poor man; and deliver ye a needy man from the hand of the sinner.

⁵ They know not, neither under-stand, they go in darknesses; all the foundaments of the earth shall be moved.

⁶ I said, Ye be gods; and all ye be the sons of the high God.

⁷ But ye shall die as men; and ye shall fall down as one of the princes.

⁸ Rise, thou God, deem thou the earth; for thou shalt have heritage in all folks.

² How long deem ye (with) wickedness; and take the faces of sinners? (And he saith, How long shall ye judge wickedly; and make exceptions for sinners?)

³ Deem ye to the needy man, and to the motherless child; justify ye the meek man and poor. (Judge ye for the needy, and for the motherless; give ye justice to the weak, and to the poor.)

⁴ Ravish ye out a poor man; and deliver ye a needy man from the hand of the sinner. (Rescue ye the poor and the needy; save ye them from the power of sinners.)

⁵ They know not, neither understand, they go in darknesses; all the foundaments of earth shall be moved. (But ye know not, nor do ye understand, that ye go in darkness; and that all the foundations of the earth have been shaken.)

⁶ I said, Ye be gods; and all ye be the sons of the high God. (And I said, Ye be gods; and ye all be the sons and daughters of the Most High God.)

⁷ But ye shall die as men; and ye shall fall down as one of the princes. (But ye shall die like men die; and ye shall fall like any of the princes, or the leaders.)

⁸ Rise, thou God, deem thou the earth; for thou shalt have heritage in all folks. (Rise up, O God, and judge thou the earth; for all the nations shall be thy inheritance.)
