Psalms 81:3-6 in English

³ Blow the trumpet at the new moon, At the full moon, on our feast-day.

⁴ For it is a statute for Israel, An ordinance of the God of Jacob.

⁵ He appointed it in Joseph for a testimony, When he went out over the land of Egypt, Where I heard a language that I knew not.

⁶ I removed his shoulder from the burden: His hands were freed from the basket.

³ Judge the orphan and poor: do justice to the low and needy.

⁴ Rescue the needy, and deliver the poor out of the hand of the sinner.

⁵ They know not, nor understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth shall be shaken.

⁶ I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you children of the Most High.

³ Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.

⁴ For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.

⁵ This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.

⁵ He commanded us Israeli people to obey it when he punished the people of Egypt. I heard someone MTY whose voice I did not recognize, saying,

⁶ “ After the rulers of Egypt forced you Israelis to work as slaves, I took those heavy burdens off your backs, and I enabled you to lay down those heavy baskets of bricks that you were carrying.

³ Judge the orphan and poor: do justice to the low and needy.

⁴ Rescue the needy, and deliver the poor out of the hand of the sinner.

⁵ They know not, nor understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth shall be shaken.

⁶ I took the weight from his back; his hands were made free from the baskets.

³ Blow the trumpet at the new moon, at the set time, on our feast day:

⁴ For this is a statute for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob;

⁵ He ordained it in Joseph for a testimony, when he went forth over the land of Egypt, where I heard a language that I knew not.

³ Judge for the needy and fatherless: do justice to the humble and the poor.

⁴ Rescue the poor; and deliver the needy out of the hand of the sinner.

⁵ They have not known nor understood: they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth shall be moved.

⁶ I have said: You are gods and all of you the sons of the most High.

³ Blow the trumpet at the new moon, and at full moon, to begin our festivals,

⁴ for this is a rule for Israel, a regulation of the God of Jacob.

⁵ God made this statute for Joseph when he opposed the land of Egypt. I heard a voice I didn't know, saying:

⁶ “I took the load from your shoulders; I freed your hands from carrying heavy baskets.

³ Blowe the trumpet in the newe moone, euen in the time appointed, at our feast day.

⁴ For this is a statute for Israel, and a Law of the God of Iaakob.

⁵ Hee set this in Ioseph for a testimonie, when hee came out of the land of Egypt, where I heard a language, that I vnderstoode not.

⁶ I haue withdrawen his shoulder from the burden, and his handes haue left the pots.

³ (81-4) Blow the horn at the new moon, at the full moon for our feast-day.

⁴ (81-5) For it is a statute for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob.

⁵ (81-6) He appointed it in Joseph for a testimony, when He went forth against the land of Egypt. The speech of one that I knew not did I hear:

⁶ (81-7) 'I removed his shoulder from the burden; His hands were freed from the basket.

⁶ (81:7) I removed from the burden his shoulder: his hands left behind the burden-basket.

⁶ He turned away his back from burdens; his hands served in a coffin.

³ Blow ye with a trump in the new moon; in the noble day of your solemnity. (Blow ye with a trumpet for the new moon; yea, on the noble day of our solemn feast.)

⁴ For why (this) commandment is in Israel; and doom is to God of Jacob. (For this is a law in Israel; and this ordinance is from the God of Jacob.)

⁵ He setted that witnessing in Joseph; when he went out of the land of Egypt, he heard a language, that he knew not. (He put that command on Joseph; when he went out of the land of Egypt. And I heard a language, that I knew not.)

⁶ He turned away his back from burdens; his hands served in a coffin. (And the Lord said, I took away the burdens from off his back; his hands were delivered from having to carry the baskets.)

³ Blow in the month a trumpet, In the new moon, at the day of our festival,

⁴ For a statute to Israel it is, An ordinance of the God of Jacob.

⁵ A testimony on Joseph He hath placed it, In his going forth over the land of Egypt. A lip, I have not known — I hear.

⁶ From the burden his shoulder I turned aside, His hands from the basket pass over.
