¹ Shiggaion of David, which he sang unto Jehovah, concerning the words of Cush a Benjamite. O Jehovah my God, in thee do I take refuge: Save me from all them that pursue me, and deliver me,

² Lest they tear my soul like a lion, Rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.

³ O Jehovah my God, if I have done this; If there be iniquity in my hands;

⁴ If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me (Yea, I have delivered him that without cause was mine adversary);

⁵ Let the enemy pursue my soul, and overtake it; Yea, let him tread my life down to the earth, And lay my glory in the dust. Selah

⁶ Arise, O Jehovah, in thine anger; Lift up thyself against the rage of mine adversaries, And awake for me; thou hast commanded judgment.

⁷ And let the congregation of the peoples compass thee about; And over them return thou on high.

⁸ Jehovah ministereth judgment to the peoples: Judge me, O Jehovah, according to my righteousness, and to mine integrity that is in me.

⁹ Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish thou the righteous: For the righteous God trieth the minds and hearts.

¹⁰ My shield is with God, Who saveth the upright in heart.

¹¹ God is a righteous judge, Yea, a God that hath indignation every day.

² O Lord my God, in thee have I trusted: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me.

³ Lest at any time the enemy seize my soul as a lion, while there is none to ransom, nor to save.

⁴ O Lord my God, if I have done this; (if there is unrighteousness in my hands;)

⁵ if I have requited with evil those who requited me with good; may I then perish empty by means of my enemies.

⁶ Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it; and let him trample my life on the ground, and lay my glory in the dust. Pause.

⁷ Arise, O Lord, in thy wrath; be exalted in the utmost boundaries of mine enemies: awake, O Lord my God, according to the decree which thou didst command.

⁸ And the congregation of the nations shall compass thee: and for this cause do thou return on high.

⁹ The Lord shall judge the nations: judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to my innocence that is in me.

¹⁰ Oh let the wickedness of sinners come to an end; and then thou shalt direct the righteous, O God that searchest the hearts and reins.

¹¹ My help is righteous, coming from God who saves the upright in heart.

¹ Yahweh my God, I come to you to protect me. Rescue me, save me from all those who are pursuing me in order to harm me.

² If you do not do that, they will tear me into pieces like a lion does when it attacks the animals it wants to kill, and no one will save me from them.

³ Yahweh my God, if I have done anything that is wrong,

⁴ if I have done evil to some friend who did good things to me, or if, for no good reason, I have spared (OR, acted violently toward) those who were my enemies,

⁵ allow my enemies to pursue me and capture me. Allow them to trample me into the ground and leave me SYN lying dead in the dirt.

⁶ But Yahweh, because you are very angry with those who pursue me, arise and attack/defeat my enemies who are furiously/angrily attacking me Do to them what is just!

⁷ Gather around you the people of all nations, and rule them from where you are in heaven MTY.

⁸ Yahweh, judge the people of all nations! And, Yahweh, show that I have done nothing that is wrong.

⁹ God, you know what every person is thinking, and because you are righteous, you always do what is just/right. So now stop evil people from doing wicked deeds, and defend all of us who are righteous!

¹⁰ God, you protect me like a shield protects soldiers MET; you protect all those who are righteous in their inner being.

¹¹ You judge everyone correctly, and every day you punish wicked people.

² So that he may not come rushing on my soul like a lion, wounding it, while there is no one to be my saviour.

³ O Lord my God, if I have done this; if my hands have done any wrong;

⁴ If I have given back evil to him who did evil to me, or have taken anything from him who was against me without cause;

⁵ Let my hater go after my soul and take it; let my life be crushed to the earth, and my honour into the dust. (Selah.)

⁶ Come up, Lord, in your wrath; be lifted up against my haters; be awake, my God, give orders for the judging.

⁷ The meeting of the nations will be round you; take your seat, then, over them, on high.

⁸ The Lord will be judge of the peoples; give a decision for me, O Lord, because of my righteousness, and let my virtue have its reward.

⁹ O let the evil of the evil-doer come to an end, but give strength to the upright: for men's minds and hearts are tested by the God of righteousness.

¹⁰ God, who is the saviour of the upright in heart, is my breastplate.

¹¹ God is the judge of the upright, and is angry with the evil-doers every day.

¹ Shiggaion of David, which he sang to Jehovah, concerning the words of Cush the Benjaminite. Jehovah my God, in thee have I trusted: save me from all my pursuers, and deliver me;

² Lest he tear my soul like a lion, crushing it while there is no deliverer.

³ Jehovah my God, if I have done this, if there be iniquity in my hands;

⁴ If I have rewarded evil to him that was at peace with me; (indeed I have freed him that without cause oppressed me;)

⁵ Let the enemy pursue after my soul, and take it, and let him tread down my life to the earth, and lay my glory in the dust. Selah.

⁶ Arise, Jehovah, in thine anger; lift thyself up against the raging of mine oppressors, and awake for me: thou hast commanded judgment.

⁷ And the assembly of the peoples shall encompass thee; and for their sakes return thou on high.

⁸ Jehovah shall minister judgment to the peoples. Judge me, Jehovah, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity which is in me.

⁹ Oh let the wrong of the wicked come to an end, and establish thou the righteous man; even thou that triest the hearts and reins, the righteous God.

¹¹ God is a righteous judge, and a God who is indignant all the day.

⁵ If I have rendered to them that repaid me evils, let me deservedly fall empty before my enemies.

¹⁰ The wickedness of sinners shall be brought to nought: and thou shalt direct the just: the searcher of hearts and reins is God.

¹¹ Just is my help from the Lord: who saveth the upright of heart.

² Otherwise they will tear me apart like a lion, ripping me to pieces with no one to save me.

³ If I have done what I'm accused of, if my hands are guilty,

⁴ If I have paid back a friend with evil, if I have robbed my enemy for no reason,

⁵ Then let my enemies chase me down; let them trample me in the dust and drag my reputation through the dirt. Selah.

⁶ Stand up, Lord, in your anger, rise up against the fury of my enemies; wake up, Lord, and bring me justice!

⁷ Bring together the nations before you; rule them from your throne on high.

⁸ The Lord judges all people. Defend me, Lord, because I do what is right, because of my integrity.

⁹ Please bring an end to the evil done by the wicked; vindicate those who do good, for you are the God of right who examines hearts and minds.

¹⁰ The Most High God is my defense, the one who saves those who live right.

¹¹ God is a fair judge who is always hostile to evil.

² Least he deuoure my soule like a lion, and teare it in pieces, while there is none to helpe.

³ O Lord my God, if I haue done this thing, if there be any wickednes in mine handes,

⁴ If I haue rewarded euill vnto him that had peace with mee, (yea I haue deliuered him that vexed me without cause)

⁵ Then let the enemie persecute my soule and take it: yea, let him treade my life downe vpon the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust. Selah.

⁶ Arise, O Lord, in thy wrath, and lift vp thy selfe against the rage of mine enemies, and awake for mee according to the iudgement that thou hast appointed.

⁸ The Lord shall iudge the people: Iudge thou me, O Lord, according to my righteousnesse, and according to mine innocencie, that is in mee.

⁹ Oh let the malice of the wicked come to an ende: but guide thou the iust: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reines.

¹⁰ My defence is in God, who preserueth the vpright in heart.

¹¹ God iudgeth the righteous, and him that contemneth God euery day.

⁹ (7-10) Oh that a full measure of evil might come upon the wicked, and that Thou wouldest establish the righteous; for the righteous God trieth the heart and reins.

¹¹ (7-12) God is a righteous judge, yea, a God that hath indignation every day:

³ (7:4) O Lord my God, if I have done this; if there be injustice in my hands;

⁴ (7:5) If I have recompensed him that was at peace with me with evil; If I have taken aught from my assailants without cause:

⁵ (7:6) May the enemy hotly pursue my soul, and overtake it; and tread down upon the earth my life, and cause my honor to be in the dust. Selah.

⁶ (7:7) Arise, O Lord, in thy anger, lift up thyself because of the rage of my enemies: and awake for me to the judgment that thou hast commanded.

⁸ (7:9) The Lord will judge the people: judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to my integrity grant me recompense.

⁹ (7:10) Oh let the evil of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just, O thou, who triest the hearts and reins, O righteous God.

¹⁰ (7:11) My protection is by God, who saveth the upright in heath.

¹¹ (7:12) God is a righteous judge, and a God who is indignant with the wicked every day.

² Lest mine enemy tear me like a lion; Lest he rend me in pieces, while there is none to help.

³ O Jehovah, my God! if I have done this,—If there be iniquity upon my hands,

⁴ If I have rendered evil to my friend, Or have despoiled him that without cause is mine enemy,—

⁵ Let my adversary pursue and take me; Let him trample me to the ground, And lay me prostrate in the dust! Pause.

⁶ Arise, O LORD! in thine anger; Lift thyself up against the rage of mine enemies; Awake for me, ordain judgment!

⁷ Let the assembly of the nations compass thee about, And on their account return to the height!

⁸ The LORD judgeth the nations; Judge me, O LORD! according to my righteousness, And requite me according to my integrity!

⁹ Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked be at an end; But establish the righteous! For the righteous God trieth the heart and the reins.

¹⁰ My shield is with God, Who saveth the upright in heart.

¹¹ God is a righteous judge, And a God who is angry every day.

¹ A Shiggaion of David, which he sang to the Lord about Cush, the Benjamite. Lord my God, I take refuge in you. Deliver me, save me from all who pursue me;

² or like lions they will tear me to pieces, and rend me, past hope of rescue.

³ Lord, my God, if my life has been such if my hands have been stained with guilt,

⁴ if friends I paid back with evil, if I plundered my foes without cause,

⁵ may the enemy chase and find me, trample my life to the ground, my honour leave in the dirt! Selah

⁶ Arise, Lord, in anger, against my foes rise in fury. Awake for my help: let justice be done.
