⁵ How long, O Jehovah? wilt thou be angry for ever? Shall thy jealousy burn like fire?

⁶ Pour out thy wrath upon the nations that know thee not, And upon the kingdoms that call not upon thy name.

⁷ For they have devoured Jacob, And laid waste his habitation.

⁸ Remember not against us the iniquities of our forefathers: Let thy tender mercies speedily meet us; For we are brought very low.

⁹ Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name; And deliver us, and forgive our sins, for thy name’s sake.

¹⁰ Wherefore should the nations say, Where is their God? Let the avenging of the blood of thy servants which is shed Be known among the nations in our sight.

¹¹ Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee: According to the greatness of thy power preserve thou those that are appointed to death;

¹² And render unto our neighbors sevenfold into their bosom Their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord.

⁵ O Lord God of hosts, how long art thou angry with the prayer of thy servant?

⁶ Thou wilt feed us with bread of tears; and wilt cause us to drink tears by measure.

⁷ Thou hast made us a strife to our neighbours; and our enemies have mocked at us.

⁸ Turn us, O Lord God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. Pause.

⁹ Thou hast transplanted a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.

¹⁰ Thou madest a way before it, and didst cause its roots to strike, and the land was filled with it.

¹¹ Its shadow covered the mountains, and its shoots equalled the goodly cedars.

¹² It sent forth its branches to the sea, and its shoots to the river.

⁵ Yahweh, how long will this continue? Will you be angry with us forever? Will your being angry destroy us like a burning fire destroys things?

⁶ Instead of being angry with us, be angry with the people-groups that do not know/worship you! Be angry with kingdoms whose people do not pray to you,

⁷ because they have killed Israeli people and they have ruined your country.

⁸ Do not punish us because of the sins that our ancestors committed! Be merciful to us now/quickly, because we are very discouraged.

⁹ God, you have saved/rescued us many times, so help us now; rescue us and forgive us for having sinned in order that other people will honor you MTY.

¹⁰ It is not right that RHQ other people-groups say about us, “If their God is very powerful, ◄surely he should help them/why does he not help them►?” Allow us to see you punishing the people of other nations in return for their shedding our blood; they have killed many of us, your people.

¹¹ Listen to your people groaning while they are in prison, and by your great power free those whom our enemies say that they will certainly execute.

¹² In return for their having often insulted you, punish them seven times as much!

⁹ Give us help, O God of our salvation, for the glory of your name; take us out of danger and give us forgiveness for our sins, because of your name.

¹⁰ Why may the nations say, Where is their God? Let payment for the blood of your servants be made openly among the nations before our eyes.

¹¹ Let the cry of the prisoner come before you; with your strong arm make free the children of death;

¹² And give punishment seven times over into the breast of our neighbours for the bitter words which they have said against you, O Lord.

⁸ O God of hosts, convert us: and shew thy face, and we shall be saved.

⁹ Thou hast brought a vineyard out of Egypt: thou hast cast cut the Gentiles and planted it.

¹⁰ Thou wast the guide of its journey in its sight: thou plantedst the roots thereof, and it filled the land.

¹¹ The shadow of it covered the hills: and the branches thereof the cedars of God.

¹² It stretched forth its branches unto the sea, and its boughs unto the river.

⁵ How long, Lord? Will you be angry with us forever? Will your jealousy always burn like fire?

⁶ Pour out your anger on the heathen nations that don't know you, and on those kingdoms that don't worship you!

⁷ For they have destroyed the descendants of Jacob, and turned our country into a wasteland.

⁸ Don't hold the sins of our forefathers against us! Come to us quickly for we desperately need your compassion.

⁹ Help us, God of our salvation, because of your wonderful character! Save us and forgive us our sins because that's the kind of person you are!

¹⁰ Why should the heathen nations be able to say, “Where is their God?” May they experience your punishment for shedding the blood of your servants, and may we see it.

¹¹ Listen to the groans of the prisoners; with your great power save those condemned to die.

¹² Pay each of these neighbors back seven times for the scorn and ridicule they directed against you, Lord.

⁵ Lord, howe long wilt thou be angrie, for euer? shall thy gelousie burne like fire?

⁶ Powre out thy wrath vpon the heathen that haue not knowen thee, and vpon the kingdomes that haue not called vpon thy Name.

⁷ For they haue deuoured Iaakob and made his dwelling place desolate.

⁸ Remember not against vs the former iniquities, but make haste and let thy tender mercies preuent vs: for we are in great miserie.

⁹ Helpe vs, O God of our saluation, for the glorie of thy Name, and deliuer vs, and be mercifull vnto our sinnes for thy Names sake.

¹⁰ Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be knowen among the heathen in our sight by the vengeance of the blood of thy seruants that is shed.

¹¹ Let the sighing of the prisoners come before thee: according to thy mightie arme preserue the children of death,

¹² And render to our neighbours seuen folde into their bosome their reproche, wherewith they haue reproched thee, O Lord.

¹² And recompense unto our neighbors sevenfold into their bosom their defiance wherewith they have defied thee, O Lord.

¹⁰ Lest peradventure they say among heathen men, Where is the God of them? and be he known among nations before our eyes. The vengeance of the blood of thy servants, which is shed or poured out;

¹¹ the wailing of fettered men enter into thy sight. After the greatness of thine arm; wield thou the sons of slain men.

¹² And yield thou to our neighbours sevenfold in the bosom of them; the shame of them, which they did shame-fully to thee, thou Lord.

⁵ Lord, how long shalt thou be wroth into the end? shall thy vengeance be kindled as fire? (Lord, how long shalt thou be angry, forever? shall thy anger burn like fire?)

⁶ Pour out thine ire into heathen men, that know not thee; and into realms, that called not thy name. (Pour out thy anger upon the heathen, who know thee not; and upon the kingdoms, that have not called upon thy name.)

⁷ For they ate Jacob; and made desolate his place. (For they have devoured, or destroyed, the people of Jacob; and made their place desolate.)

⁸ Have thou not mind on our eld wickednesses; thy mercies before take us soon, for we be made poor greatly. (Remember not our past wickednesses; let thy constant love come soon to us, for we be made so very low.)

⁹ God, our health, help thou us, and, Lord, for the glory of thy name, deliver thou us; and be thou merciful to our sins, for thy name. (God, our salvation, or God, our deliverance, help thou us, and, Lord, for the glory of thy name, save thou us; and have thou mercy on our sins, for the sake of thy name.)

The vengeance of the blood of thy servants, which is shed out; (Lest perhaps they say among the heathen, Where is their God? Let thyself be known among the nations around us, by the vengeance which is poured out upon them; for the blood of thy servants.)

¹¹ the wailing of fettered men enter into thy sight. After the greatness of thine arm; wield thou the sons of slain men. (Let the wailing of the fettered come before thee. And by the greatness of thy power, free thou those who be condemned to die.)

¹² And yield thou to our neighbours sevenfold in(to) the bosom of them; the shame of them (or the same rebuke), which they did shamefully to thee, thou Lord.

⁵ Till when, O Jehovah? art Thou angry for ever? Thy jealousy doth burn as fire.

⁶ Pour Thy fury on the nations who have not known Thee, And on kingdoms that have not called in Thy name.

⁷ For one hath devoured Jacob, And his habitation they have made desolate.

⁸ Remember not for us the iniquities of forefathers, Haste, let Thy mercies go before us, For we have been very weak.

⁹ Help us, O God of our salvation, Because of the honour of Thy name, And deliver us, and cover over our sins, For Thy name's sake.

¹⁰ Why do the nations say, 'Where is their God?' Let be known among the nations before our eyes, The vengeance of the blood of Thy servants that is shed.

¹¹ Let the groaning of the prisoner come in before Thee, According to the greatness of Thine arm, Leave Thou the sons of death.

¹² And turn Thou back to our neighbours, Sevenfold unto their bosom, their reproach, Wherewith they reproached Thee, O Lord.
