⁴ Glorious art thou and excellent, From the mountains of prey.

⁵ The stouthearted are made a spoil, They have slept their sleep; And none of the men of might have found their hands.

⁶ At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, Both chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.

⁷ Thou, even thou, art to be feared; And who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?

⁸ Thou didst cause sentence to be heard from heaven; The earth feared, and was still,

⁴ I remembered God, and rejoiced; I poured out my complaint, and my soul fainted. Pause.

⁵ All mine enemies set a watch against me: I was troubled, and spoke not.

⁶ I considered the days of old, and remembered ancient years.

⁷ And I meditated; I communed with my heart by night, and diligently searched my spirit, saying,

⁸ Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be well pleased no more?

⁴ God, you are glorious! You are like a king as you return from the mountains where you defeated your enemies.

⁵ Their brave soldiers were killed, and then those who killed them took away everything that those soldiers had. Those enemies died EUP, so they were unable to use their weapons anymore!

⁶ When you, the God whom Jacob worshiped, rebuked your enemies, the result was that their horses and their riders fell down dead.

⁷ But you cause everyone to be afraid. When you are angry and you punish people, no one can RHQ endure it.

⁸ From heaven you proclaimed that you would judge people, and then everyone on the earth was afraid and did not say anything more,

⁴ All my enemies set a watch against me: I was troubled, and spoke not.

⁷ You, you are to be feared; who may keep his place before you in the time of your wrath?

⁸ From heaven you gave your decision; the earth, in its fear, gave no sound,

⁴ More glorious art thou, more excellent, than the mountains of prey.

⁵ My eyes prevented the watches: I was troubled, and I spoke not.

⁶ I thought upon the days of old: and I had in my mind the eternal years.

⁷ And I meditated in the night with my own heart: and I was exercised and I swept my spirit.

⁸ Will God then cast off for ever? or will he never be more favourable again?

⁴ You shine with light; you are more majestic than the everlasting mountains.

⁵ Our most courageous enemies have been plundered. They sleep the sleep of death. Even the strongest of them could not raise a hand against us.

⁶ At your command, God of Jacob, both horse and rider fell down dead.

⁷ You are terrifying—who can stand before you when you are angry?

⁸ From heaven you announced judgment. Everyone on earth was afraid and stood still,

⁴ Thou art more bright and puissant, then the mountaines of pray.

⁵ The stout hearted are spoyled: they haue slept their sleepe, and all the men of strength haue not found their hands.

⁶ At thy rebuke, O God of Iaakob, both the chariot and horse are cast a sleepe.

⁷ Thou, euen thou art to be feared: and who shall stand in thy sight, when thou art angrie!

⁸ Thou didest cause thy iudgement to bee heard from heauen: therefore the earth feared and was still,

⁴ (76-5) Glorious art Thou and excellent, coming down from the mountains of prey.

⁵ (76-6) The stout-hearted are bereft of sense, they sleep their sleep; and none of the men of might have found their hands.

⁶ (76-7) At Thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, they are cast into a dead sleep, the riders also and the horses.

⁷ (76-8) Thou, even Thou, art terrible; and who may stand in Thy sight when once Thou art angry?

⁸ (76-9) Thou didst cause sentence to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still,

⁴ Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.

⁷ (76:8) Thou—thou art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thy anger is kindled?

⁸ (76:9) From heaven hast thou caused thy sentence to be heard: the earth feared, and became still,

⁷ Thou, thou, O God! art terrible! Who can stand before thee in thine anger?

⁸ Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; The earth trembled and was still,

⁴ Terrible is your splendour on the everlasting mountains.

⁵ Despoiled were the stout of heart; in the sleep into which they had fallen, none of the warriors could lift a hand.

⁶ At your rebuke, God of Jacob, sank chariot and horse to sleep.

⁷ Awful are you: who can stand before you, when once you are angry?

⁸ The judgement you gave from heaven frightened the earth into silence,

⁴ Terrible is your splendor on the everlasting mountains.

⁵ Despoiled were the stout of heart; in the sleep into which they had fallen, none of the warriors could lift a hand.

⁶ At your rebuke, God of Jacob, sank chariot and horse to sleep.

⁷ Awful are you: who can stand before you, when once you are angry?

⁸ The judgment you gave from heaven frightened the earth into silence,

⁴ Glorious are you, and excellent, more than mountains of game.

⁸ You pronounced judgment to be sh'ma ·heard obeyed· from heaven. The earth feared, and was silent,

⁴ You shine brightly and reveal your glory, as you descend from the mountains, where you killed your victims.

⁵ The bravehearted were plundered; they fell asleep. All the warriors were helpless.

⁶ At your rebuke, God of Jacob, both rider and horse fell asleep.

⁷ You, yes you, are to be feared; who can stand in your sight when you are angry?

⁸ From heaven you made your judgment heard; the earth was afraid and silent

⁴ Glorious are you, and excellent, more than mountains of game.

⁴ And thou, God, lightenest wonder-fully coming back from everlasting hills;

⁵ all unwise men of heart were troubled. They slept their sleep, that is, were dead; and all men found nothing of riches in their hands.

⁶ They that ascended or went up on horses; slept for thy blaming, thou God of Jacob.

⁷ Thou art fearful, and who shall against-stand thee? from that time of thine ire.

⁸ From heaven thou madest doom heard; the earth trembled, and rested.

⁴ And thou, God, lightenest wonderfully (coming back) from everlasting hills; (And thou, O God, wonderfully lightenest, coming back from the everlasting hills;)

⁵ all unwise men of heart were troubled. They slept their sleep, that is, were dead; and all men found nothing of riches in their hands. (and all who were foolish and ignorant were troubled. But now they have slept their sleep, that is, they be dead; and all their riches be found to be nothing in their hands.)

⁶ They that ascended on horses; slept for thy blaming, thou God of Jacob. (They who ascended on horses; now be asleep, or dead, after thy rebuke, O God of Jacob.)

⁷ Thou art fearful, and who shall against-stand thee? from that time (of) thine ire. (Thou art to be feared; and who shall be able to stand against thee, when thou art angry?)

⁸ From heaven thou madest doom heard; the earth trembled, and rested. (From heaven thou madest thy judgement heard; and the earth trembled, or shook, and kept silent.)

⁴ Bright art Thou, honourable above hills of prey.

⁵ Spoiled themselves have the mighty of heart, They have slept their sleep, And none of the men of might found their hands.

⁶ From Thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, Both rider and horse have been fast asleep.

⁷ Thou, fearful art Thou, And who doth stand before Thee, Since Thou hast been angry!

⁸ From heaven Thou hast sounded judgment, Earth hath feared, and hath been still,
