Psalms 75:4-6 in English

⁴ I said unto the arrogant, Deal not arrogantly; And to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:

⁵ Lift not up your horn on high; Speak not with a stiff neck.

⁶ For neither from the east, nor from the west, Nor yet from the south, cometh lifting up.

⁴ There he broke the power of the bows, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Pause.

⁵ Thou dost wonderfully shine forth from the everlasting mountains.

⁶ All the simple ones in heart were troubled; all the men of wealth have slept their sleep, and have found nothing in their hands.

⁴ I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:

⁵ Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.

⁶ For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.

⁴ I say to people who ◄boast/talk proudly about themselves►, ‘Stop bragging!’ and I say to wicked people, ‘Do not proudly do things to show how great you are IDM!

⁵ Do not be arrogant, and do not speak so boastfully!’”

⁶ The one who judges people does not come from the east or from the west, and he does not come from the desert.

⁴ I say to the men of pride, Let your pride be gone: and to the sinners, Let not your horn be lifted up.

⁵ Let not your horn be lifted up: let no more words of pride come from your outstretched necks.

⁶ For honour does not come from the east, or from the west, or uplifting from the south;

⁴ I said unto the boastful, Boast not; and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:

⁵ Lift not up your horn on high; speak not arrogantly with a stiff neck.

⁶ For not from the east nor from the west, nor yet from the south doth exaltation come:

⁴ There hath he broken the powers of bows, the shield, the sword, and the battie.

⁵ Thou enlightenest wonderfully from the everlasting hills.

⁶ All the foolish of heart were troubled. They have slept their sleep; and all the men of riches have found nothing in their hands.

⁴ To those who boast I say, ‘Don't boast!’ I tell the wicked, ‘Don't be proud!’

⁵ No, don't be proud and arrogant, insulting heaven.”

⁶ For no one, from the east to the west, or from the wilderness, should think so highly of themselves.

⁴ I saide vnto the foolish, Be not so foolish, and to the wicked, Lift not vp the horne.

⁵ Lift not vp your horne on high, neither speake with a stiffe necke.

⁶ For to come to preferment is neither from the East, nor from the West, nor from the South,

⁴ (75-5) I say unto the arrogant: 'Deal not arrogantly'; and to the wicked: 'Lift not up the horn.'

⁵ (75-6) Lift not up your horn on high; speak not insolence with a haughty neck.

⁶ (75-7) For neither from the east, nor from the west, nor yet from the wilderness, cometh lifting up.

⁴ I say to the boasters, “Boast not”; to the wicked, “Lift not up your horn:

⁵ lift not your horn on high, speak not boldly against the Rock.”

⁶ For not from east nor west, not from desert nor mountains;

⁴ I say to the boasters, “Boast not”; to the wicked, “Lift not up your horn:

⁵ lift not your horn on high, speak not boldly against the Rock.”

⁶ For not from east nor west, not from desert nor mountains;

⁴ I said to the arrogant, “Don’t boast!” I said to the wicked, “Don’t lift up the horn.

⁵ Don’t lift up your horn on high. Don’t speak with a stiff neck.”

⁶ For neither from the east, nor from the west, nor yet from the south, comes exaltation.

⁴ I said to the arrogant, “Do not be arrogant,” and to the wicked, “Do not lift up the horn.

⁵ Do not lift up your horn to the heights; do not speak with an insolent neck.”

⁶ It is not from the east or from the west, and it is not from the wilderness that lifting up comes.

⁴ I said to the arrogant, “Don’t boast!” I said to the wicked, “Don’t lift up the horn.

⁴ I said to wicked men, Do not ye do wickedly; and to trespassers, Do not ye enhance the horn.

⁵ Do not ye raise on high your horn; do not ye speak wickedness against God.

⁶ For promotion cometh neither from the east, neither from the west, neither from desert hills;

⁴ I said to wicked men (or I said to the wicked), Do not ye do wickedly; and to trespassers, Do not ye enhance the horn.

⁵ Do not ye raise on high your horn; do not ye speak wickedness against God. (Do not ye raise up your horn on high; do not ye speak wickedly, or proudly, against God.)

⁶ For (promotion cometh) neither from the east, neither from the west, neither from desert hills; (For judgement cometh not from the east, nor from the west, nor from the hills in the wilderness;)

⁴ I have said to the boastful, 'Be not boastful,' And to the wicked, 'Raise not up a horn.'

⁵ Raise not up on high your horn, (Ye speak with a stiff neck.)

⁶ For not from the east, or from the west, Nor from the wilderness — is elevation.
