¹² Yet God is my King of old, Working salvation in the midst of the earth.

¹³ Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: Thou brakest the heads of the sea-monsters in the waters.

¹⁴ Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces; Thou gavest him to be food to the people inhabiting the wilderness.

¹⁵ Thou didst cleave fountain and flood: Thou driedst up mighty rivers.

¹⁶ The day is thine, the night also is thine: Thou hast prepared the light and the sun.

¹⁷ Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: Thou hast made summer and winter.

¹⁸ Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O Jehovah, And that a foolish people hath blasphemed thy name.

¹⁹ Oh deliver not the soul of thy turtle-dove unto the wild beast: Forget not the life of thy poor for ever.

²⁰ Have respect unto the covenant; For the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of violence.

²¹ Oh let not the oppressed return ashamed: Let the poor and needy praise thy name.

¹⁴ It was as though you crushed the head of the king of Egypt MET and gave his body to the animals in the desert to eat.

¹⁵ You caused springs and streams to flow, and you also dried up rivers that had never dried up previously.

¹⁶ You created the days and the nights, and you put the sun and the moon in their places.

¹⁷ You determined where the oceans end and the land begins, and you created the summer/hot season and the winter/cold season.

¹⁸ Yahweh, do not forget that your enemies laugh at you, and that it is foolish people who despise you MTY.

¹⁹ Do not let your helpless people MET fall into the hands of their cruel enemies; do not forget your suffering/persecuted people.

²⁰ Do not forget the agreement that you made with us; remember that there are violent people in every dark place on the earth.

²¹ Do not allow your oppressed people to be disgraced; help those poor and needy people in order that they will again praise you MTY.

²² God, arise and defend yourself by defending your people! Do not forget that foolish people laugh at you ◄all day long/continually►!

¹⁷ By you all the limits of the earth were fixed; you have made summer and winter.

¹⁸ Keep this in mind, O Lord, that your haters have said cruel things, and that your name has been looked down on by a people of evil behaviour.

¹⁹ O give not the soul of your dove to the hawk; let not the life of the poor go out of your memory for ever.

²⁰ Keep in mind your undertaking; for the dark places of the earth are full of pride and cruel acts.

²¹ O let not the crushed be turned back in shame; let the low man and the poor give praise to your name.

²² Up! O God, be the judge of your cause; keep in mind the bitter things which the man of evil behaviour says against you every day.

¹² But God is my king of old, accomplishing deliverances in the midst of the earth.

¹⁴ Thou didst break in pieces the heads of leviathan, thou gavest him to be meat to those that people the desert.

¹² But you, God, are our king from long ago. You have saved us many times in the land.

¹³ You were the one who split apart the sea by your strength; you broke the heads of the sea monsters.

¹⁴ You were the one who crushed the heads of Leviathan, and you gave its body to the desert animals to eat.

¹⁵ You were the one who made springs and rivers flow with water. You made permanent rivers dry up.

¹⁸ So keep in mind how the enemy ridiculed you, Lord, and how irreverent people insulted your reputation.

¹⁹ Don't let wild animals kill your turtledoves! Don't abandon your people forever!

²⁰ Remember your promises in the agreement, because the land is full of dark places and violence.

²¹ Don't let those who suffer be mistreated again. Let the poor and needy praise you for you who are.

²² Stand up, God, and plead your case. Don't forget how these foolish people insulted you all the time.

¹⁵ Thou hast broken wells, and strands or streams; thou madest dry the floods of Eitan.

¹⁸ Be thou mindful of this thing, the enemy hath said shame to the Lord; and the unwise people hath excited to ire thy name.

¹⁹ Betake thou not to beasts men acknowledging to thee; and forget thou not into the end the souls of thy poor men.

²⁰ Behold into thy testament; for they that be made dark of earth, be full-filled with the houses of wickednesses.

²² God, rise up, deem thou thy cause; be thou mindful of thy shames, either upbraidings, of those that be all day of the unwise man.

¹² Forsooth God our king before worlds, wrought health in the midst of earth. (But God, our King forever, hath given salvation, or deliverance, all the world over.)

¹³ Thou madest firm the sea by thy virtue; thou hast troubled the heads of the dragons in waters. (Thou dividedest the sea by thy strength, or thy power; thou hast broken the heads of the dragons in the water or thou hast broken the heads of the Dragon in the water.)

¹⁴ Thou hast broken the heads of the dragon; thou hast given him to be meat to the peoples of Ethiopians. (Thou hast broken the heads of the Dragon, or of Leviathan; thou hast given him to be food for the peoples of the desert.)

¹⁹ Betake thou not (over) to beasts men acknowledging to thee; and forget thou not into the end the souls of thy poor men. (Give thou not over to beasts those who confess thee; and forget thou not forever the suffering of thy poor.)

²⁰ Behold into thy testament; for they that be made dark of (the) earth, be full-filled with the houses of wickednesses. (Remember thy covenant; for the dark places of the earth, be filled full with the houses of wickedness.)

²¹ A meek man be not turned away made ashamed; a poor man and needy shall praise thy name. (Let not the humble be turned away, and be made ashamed; yea, let the poor and the needy praise thy name.)

²² God, rise up, deem thou thy cause; be thou mindful of thy shames, either upbraidings, of those that be all day of the unwise man. (God, rise up, defend thou thy own case; remember the reproaches, or the upbraidings, that come to thee all day long, from the foolish and the ignorant.)

¹² And God is my king of old, Working salvation in the midst of the earth.

¹³ Thou hast broken by Thy strength a sea -monster, Thou hast shivered Heads of dragons by the waters,

¹⁴ Thou hast broken the heads of leviathan, Thou makest him food, For the people of the dry places.

¹⁵ Thou hast cleaved a fountain and a stream, Thou hast dried up perennial flowings.

¹⁶ Thine is the day, also Thine is the night, Thou hast prepared a light giver — the sun.

¹⁷ Thou hast set up all the borders of earth, Summer and winter Thou hast formed them.

¹⁸ Remember this — an enemy reproached Jehovah, And a foolish people have despised Thy name.

¹⁹ Give not up to a company, The soul of Thy turtle-dove, The company of Thy poor ones forget not for ever.

²⁰ Look attentively to the covenant, For the dark places of earth, Have been full of habitations of violence.

²¹ Let not the oppressed turn back ashamed, Let the poor and needy praise Thy name,

²² Arise, O God, plead Thy plea, Remember Thy reproach from a fool all the day.
