Psalms 72:3-7 in English

³ The mountains shall bring peace to the people, And the hills, in righteousness.

⁴ He will judge the poor of the people, He will save the children of the needy, And will break in pieces the oppressor.

⁵ They shall fear thee while the sun endureth, And so long as the moon, throughout all generations.

⁶ He will come down like rain upon the mown grass, As showers that water the earth.

⁷ In his days shall the righteous flourish, And abundance of peace, till the moon be no more.

³ For I was jealous of the transgressors, beholding the tranquillity of sinners.

⁴ For there is no sign of reluctance in their death: and they have firmness under their affliction.

⁵ They are not in the troubles of other men; and they shall not be scourged with other men.

⁶ Therefore pride has possessed them; they have clothed themselves with their injustice and ungodliness.

⁷ Their injustice shall go forth as out of fatness: they have fulfilled their intention.

⁴ Help me, your king, to defend the poor people and to rescue needy people and to defeat those who oppress them.

⁵ I desire that your people will revere you as long as the moon shines, forever.

⁶ I desire that my rule will be enjoyed by the people SIM like they enjoy rain on growing crops, like they enjoy showers that fall on the land.

⁷ I hope/desire that people will live righteously during the years that I rule, and that my people will live peacefully and prosperously as long as the moon shines.

³ Because I had a zeal on occasion of the wicked, seeing the prosperity of sinners.

⁴ For there is no regard to their death, nor is there strength in their stripes.

⁵ They are not in the labour of men: neither shall they be scourged like other men.

⁶ Therefore pride hath held them fast: they are covered with their iniquity and their wickedness.

⁷ Their iniquity hath come forth, as it were from fatness: they have passed into the affection of the heart.

³ May the mountains bring peace to the people, and the hills bring goodness.

⁴ May he defend the poor and save their children, may he crush those who oppress them.

⁵ May they respect him as long as the sun and the moon shine above, for all generations.

⁶ May his reign be like rain falling on new grass, like showers that water the earth.

⁷ May those who live right prosper under his rule; may there be great prosperity until the moon is no more.

³ The mountaines and the hilles shall bring peace to the people by iustice.

⁴ He shall iudge the poore of the people: he shall saue the children of the needie, and shall subdue the oppressor.

⁵ They shall feare thee as long as the sunne and moone endureth, from generatio to generation.

⁶ He shall come downe like the rayne vpon the mowen grasse, and as the showres that water the earth.

⁷ In his dayes shall the righteous florish, and abundance of peace shalbe so long as the moone endureth.

⁵ May he live as long as the sun, while the moon shines — for ages and ages.

⁶ May he be like the rain on the meadow, like showers that water the earth.

⁷ In his days may justice flourish, and welfare abound, till the moon be no more.

³ May the mountains bear weal for the people, and the hills yield fruits of justice.

⁴ The weak may he help to their rights, may he save the sons of the needy and crush the oppressor in pieces.

⁵ May he live as long as the sun, while the moon shines — for ages and ages.

⁶ May he be like the rain on the meadow, like showers that water the earth.

⁷ In his days may justice flourish, and welfare abound, till the moon be no more.

⁵ May they honor you while the sun endures, and as long as the moon lasts throughout all generations.

⁷ May the righteous flourish in his days, and may there be an abundance of peace till the moon is no more.

⁵ And he shall dwell with the sun, and before the moon, that is, without beginning, and end; in generation and into generation.

⁶ He shall come down as rain into a fleece; and as gutters dropping on the earth.

⁷ Rightfulness or rightwiseness shall come forth in his days; and the abun-dance of peace, till the moon be taken away.

³ Mountains receive peace to the people; and little hills receive rightfulness. (May the mountains and the little hills, bring peace and prosperity to the people; in righteousness.)

⁴ He shall deem the poor men of the people, and he shall make safe the sons of poor men; and he shall make low the false challenger. (He shall judge the poor, and he shall save the sons and the daughters of the poor; and he shall bring down their oppressors.)

⁵ And he shall dwell with the sun, and before the moon, that is, without beginning, and (without) end; in generation and into generation (or in all generations).

⁶ He shall come down as rain into a fleece; and as gutters dropping on the earth. (He shall come down like rain onto a field; and like showers dropping upon the earth.)

⁷ Rightfulness shall come forth in his days (or Righteousness shall come forth in his days); and the abundance of peace, till the moon be taken away.

³ The mountains bear peace to the people, And the heights by righteousness.

⁴ He judgeth the poor of the people, Giveth deliverance to the sons of the needy, And bruiseth the oppressor.

⁵ They fear Thee with the sun, and before the moon, Generation — generations.

⁶ He cometh down as rain on mown grass, As showers — sprinkling the earth.

⁷ Flourish in his days doth the righteous, And abundance of peace till the moon is not.
