Help us?

Psalms 71:5-15 in American Standard Version (1901)

5 For thou art my hope, O Lord Jehovah: Thou art my trust from my youth.
6 By thee have I been holden up from the womb; Thou art he that took me out of my mother’s bowels: My praise shall be continually of thee.
7 I am as a wonder unto many; But thou art my strong refuge.
8 My mouth shall be filled with thy praise, And with thy honor all the day.
9 Cast me not off in the time of old age; Forsake me not when my strength faileth.
10 For mine enemies speak concerning me; And they that watch for my soul take counsel together,
11 Saying, God hath forsaken him: Pursue and take him; for there is none to deliver.
12 O God, be not far from me; O my God, make haste to help me.
13 Let them be put to shame and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; Let them be covered with reproach and dishonor that seek my hurt.
14 But I will hope continually, And will praise thee yet more and more.
15 My mouth shall tell of thy righteousness, And of thy salvation all the day; For I know not the numbers thereof.

Psalms 71:5-15 in Brenton Septuagint Translation

5 And he shall continue as long as the sun, and before the moon for ever.
6 He shall come down as rain upon a fleece; and as drops falling upon the earth.
7 In his days shall righteousness spring up; and abundance of peace till the moon be removed.
8 And he shall have dominion from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth.
9 The Ethiopians shall fall down before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.
10 The kings of Tharsis, and the isles, shall bring presents: the kings of the Arabians and Saba shall offer gifts.
11 And all kings shall worship him; all the Gentiles shall serve him.
12 For he has delivered the poor from the oppressor; and the needy who had no helper.
13 He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall deliver the souls of the needy.
14 He shall redeem their souls from usury and injustice: and their name shall be precious before him.
15 And he shall live, and there shall be given him of the gold of Arabia: and men shall pray for him continually; and all the day shall they praise him.

5 Yahweh, my Lord, you are the one whom I confidently expect to help me; I have trusted in you since I was young.
6 I have depended on you all my life; you have taken care of me IDM since the day that I was born, so I will always praise you.
7 The manner in which I have conducted my life has been an example to many people, because they realize that you have been my strong defender.
8 I praise you all day long, and I proclaim that you are glorious/wonderful.
9 Now, when I have become an old man, do not reject/abandon me; do not abandon me now, when I am not strong anymore.
10 My enemies say that they want to kill me; they plan together how they can do that.
11 They say about me, “God has abandoned him; so now we can pursue him and seize him, because there is no one who will rescue him.”
12 God, do not stay far away from me; hurry to help me!
13 Cause those who ◄accuse me/say that I have done things that are wrong► to be defeated and destroyed; cause those who want to harm me to be shamed and disgraced.
14 But as for me, I will continually and confidently expect you to do great things for me, and I will praise you more and more.
15 I will tell people that you do what is right; all day long I will tell people how you have saved me, although what you have done is more than I can fully understand.

Psalms 71:5-15 in Bible in Basic English

5 For you are my hope, O Lord God; I have had faith in you from the time when I was young.
6 You have been my support from the day of my birth; you took me out of my mother's body; my praise will be ever of you.
7 I am a wonder to all; but you are my strong tower.
8 My mouth will be full of your praise and glory all the day.
9 Do not give me up when I am old; be my help even when my strength is gone.
10 For my haters are waiting secretly for me; and those who are watching for my soul are banded together in their evil designs,
11 Saying, God has given him up; go after him and take him, for he has no helper.
12 O God, be not far from me; O my God, come quickly to my help.
13 Let those who say evil against my soul be overcome and put to shame; let my haters be made low and have no honour.
14 But I will go on ever hoping, and increasing in all your praise.
15 My mouth will make clear your righteousness and your salvation all the day; for they are more than may be measured.

Psalms 71:5-15 in World English Bible British Edition

5 For you are my hope, Lord GOD, my confidence from my youth.
6 I have relied on you from the womb. You are he who took me out of my mother’s womb. I will always praise you.
7 I am a marvel to many, but you are my strong refuge.
8 My mouth shall be filled with your praise, with your honour all day long.
9 Don’t reject me in my old age. Don’t forsake me when my strength fails.
10 For my enemies talk about me. Those who watch for my soul conspire together,
11 saying, “God has forsaken him. Pursue and take him, for no one will rescue him.”
12 God, don’t be far from me. My God, hurry to help me.
13 Let my accusers be disappointed and consumed. Let them be covered with disgrace and scorn who want to harm me.
14 But I will always hope, and will add to all of your praise.
15 My mouth will tell about your righteousness, and of your salvation all day, though I don’t know its full measure.

Psalms 71:5-15 in Noah Webster Bible

5 For thou art my hope, O LORD God: thou art my trust from my youth.
6 By thee have I been sustained from my birth: thou art he that brought me into life: my praise shall be continually of thee.
7 I am as a wonder to many; but thou art my strong refuge.
8 Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honor all the day.
9 Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.
10 For my enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together,
11 Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him .
12 O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help.
13 Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonor that seek my hurt.
14 But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.
15 My mouth shall show forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof .

Psalms 71:5-15 in Wycliffe's Bible with Modern Spelling

5 For thou, Lord, art my patience; Lord, thou art mine hope from my youth.
6 In thee I am confirmed, that is, defended, from the womb; thou art my defender from the womb of my mother. My singing is evermore in thee;
7 I am made as a great wonder to many men; and thou art a strong helper.
8 My mouth be filled with praising; that I sing thy glory, all day thy great-ness.
9 Cast thou not away me in the time of eld age /in the time of oldness; when my strength faileth, forsake thou not me.
10 For mine enemies said of me; and they that kept my life made counsel together.
11 Saying, God hath forsaken him; pursue ye, and take him; for none there is that shall deliver.
12 God, be thou not made afar from me; my God, behold thou into mine help.
13 Men that backbite my soul, be shamed, and fail they; and be they covered with reproof and shame, that seek evils to me.
14 But I shall hope evermore; and I shall add to ever over all thy praising.
15 My mouth shall tell thy rightful-ness or rightwiseness; all day thine health. For I knew not by literature, that is, by man’s teaching, but by God’s revelation,

10 For mine enemies said of me; and they that kept my life made counsel together. (For my enemies spoke against me; those who laid ambush for me took counsel together.)

Psalms 71:5-15 in Young's Literal Translation

5 For Thou art my hope, O Lord Jehovah, My trust from my youth.
6 By Thee I have been supported from the womb, From my mother's bowels Thou dost cut me out, In Thee is my praise continually.
7 As a wonder I have been to many, And Thou art my strong refuge.
8 Filled is my mouth with Thy praise, All the day with Thy beauty.
9 Cast me not off at the time of old age, According to the consumption of my power forsake me not.
10 For mine enemies have spoken against me, And those watching my soul have taken counsel together,
11 Saying, 'God hath forsaken him, Pursue and catch him, for there is no deliverer.'
12 O God, be not far from me, O my God, for my help make haste.
13 They are ashamed, they are consumed, Who are opposing my soul, They are covered with reproach and blushing, Who are seeking my evil,
14 And I continually do wait with hope, And have added unto all Thy praise.
15 My mouth recounteth Thy righteousness, All the day Thy salvation, For I have not known the numbers.
