¹ For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David; to bring to remembrance. Make haste, O God, to deliver me; Make haste to help me, O Jehovah.

² Let them be put to shame and confounded That seek after my soul: Let them be turned backward and brought to dishonor That delight in my hurt.

³ Let them be turned back by reason of their shame That say, Aha, aha.

⁴ Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee; And let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified.

⁵ But I am poor and needy; Make haste unto me, O God: Thou art my help and my deliverer; O Jehovah, make no tarrying.

² In thy righteousness deliver me and rescue me: incline thine ear to me, and save me.

³ Be to me a protecting God, and a strong hold to save me: for thou art my fortress and my refuge.

⁴ Deliver me, O my God, from the hand of the sinner, from the hand of the transgressor and unjust man.

⁵ For thou art my support, O Lord; O Lord, thou art my hope from my youth.

² Humble those who are happy about my troubles/difficulties, and cause them to be disgraced/ashamed. Chase away those who are trying to kill me.

³ I hope/desire that you will cause them to become dismayed and ashamed because you have defeated them.

⁴ But I hope/desire that all those who go to worship you will be very joyful DOU. I want those who love you because you saved them to shout repeatedly HYP, “God is great!”

⁵ As for me, I am poor and needy DOU; so God, come quickly to help me! Yahweh, you are the one who saves and helps me, so please come quickly!

⁴ Let all those who are looking for you be glad and have joy in you; let the lovers of your salvation ever say, May God be great.

⁵ But I am poor and in need; come to me quickly, O God; you are my help and my saviour; let there be no waiting, O Lord.

⁵ But I am afflicted and needy: make haste unto me, O God. Thou art my help and my deliverer: O Jehovah, make no delay.

² Deliver me in thy justice, and rescue me. Incline thy ear unto me, and save me.

³ Be thou unto me a God, a protector, and a place of strength: that thou mayst make me safe. For thou art my firmament and my refuge.

⁴ Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the sinner, and out of the hand of the transgressor of the law and of the unjust.

⁵ For thou art my patience, O Lord: my hope, O Lord, from my youth;

² Please defeat and humiliate the people who are trying to kill me; turn back in disgrace those who want to hurt me.

³ May they be shocked at their defeat, those who taunted me.

⁴ But may everyone who comes to you be happy and glad; may those who love your salvation always say, “God is great!”

⁵ As for me, I am poor and needy. Hurry, God, help me! Save me! Lord, don't wait!

² Let them be confounded and put to shame, that seeke my soule: let them bee turned backewarde and put to rebuke, that desire mine hurt.

³ Let them be turned backe for a rewarde of their shame, which said, Aha, aha.

⁴ But let all those that seeke thee, be ioyfull and glad in thee, and let all that loue thy saluation, say alwaies, God be praised.

⁵ Nowe I am poore and needie: O God, make haste to me: thou art mine helper, and my deliuerer: O Lord, make no tarying.

⁴ (70:5) Let all those that seek thee be glad and rejoice in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, God is great.

⁵ (70:6) But I am poor and needy, O God: come hastily unto me; my help and my deliverer art thou: O Lord, do not delay.

⁴ All men that seek thee, make fully joy or full out joy they, and be glad in thee; and they that love thine health, say evermore, The Lord be magnified.

⁵ Forsooth I am a needy man, and poor; God help thou me. Thou art mine helper and my deliverer; Lord, tarry thou not.

³ Be they turned away anon, and shame they; that say to me, Well! well! (Be they turned away at once, and be they ashamed; who (scornfully) say to me, Well! well!)

⁴ All men that seek thee, make fully joy, and be glad in thee; and they that love thine health, say evermore, The Lord be magnified. (But let all those who seek thee, make full out joy, or rejoice, and be glad in thee; and let those who love thy salvation, or thy deliverance, say forevermore, The Lord be magnified.)

⁵ Forsooth I am a needy man, and poor, (or But I am a poor and needy man); God help thou me. Thou art mine helper and my deliverer; Lord, tarry thou not.

¹ To the Overseer, by David. — 'To cause to remember.' O God, to deliver me, O Jehovah, for my help, haste.

² Let them be ashamed and confounded Who are seeking my soul, Let them be turned backward and blush Who are desiring my evil.

³ Let them turn back because of their shame, Who are saying, 'Aha, aha.'

⁴ Let all those seeking Thee joy and be glad in Thee, And let those loving Thy salvation Say continually, 'God is magnified.'

⁵ And I am poor and needy, O God, haste to me, My help and my deliverer art Thou, O Jehovah, tarry Thou not!
