Psalms 69:6-36 in American Standard Version (1901)

6 Let not them that wait for thee be put to shame through me, O Lord Jehovah of hosts: Let not those that seek thee be brought to dishonor through me, O God of Israel.
7 Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; Shame hath covered my face.
8 I am become a stranger unto my brethren, And an alien unto my mother’s children.
9 For the zeal of thy house hath eaten me up; And the reproaches of them that reproach thee are fallen upon me.
10 When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, That was to my reproach.
11 When I made sackcloth my clothing, I became a byword unto them.
12 They that sit in the gate talk of me; And I am the song of the drunkards.
13 But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O Jehovah, in an acceptable time: O God, in the abundance of thy lovingkindness, Answer me in the truth of thy salvation.
14 Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: Let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.
15 Let not the waterflood overwhelm me, Neither let the deep swallow me up; And let not the pit shut its mouth upon me.
16 Answer me, O Jehovah; for thy lovingkindness is good: According to the multitude of thy tender mercies turn thou unto me.
17 And hide not thy face from thy servant; For I am in distress; answer me speedily.
18 Draw nigh unto my soul, and redeem it: Ransom me because of mine enemies.
19 Thou knowest my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonor: Mine adversaries are all before thee.
20 Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: And I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; And for comforters, but I found none.
21 They gave me also gall for my food; And in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
22 Let their table before them become a snare; And when they are in peace, let it become a trap.
23 Let their eyes be darkened, so that they cannot see; And make their loins continually to shake.
24 Pour out thine indignation upon them, And let the fierceness of thine anger overtake them.
25 Let their habitation be desolate; Let none dwell in their tents.
26 For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten; And they tell of the sorrow of those whom thou hast wounded.
27 Add iniquity unto their iniquity; And let them not come into thy righteousness.
28 Let them be blotted out of the book of life, And not be written with the righteous.
29 But I am poor and sorrowful: Let thy salvation, O God, set me up on high.
30 I will praise the name of God with a song, And will magnify him with thanksgiving.
31 And it will please Jehovah better than an ox, Or a bullock that hath horns and hoofs.
32 The meek have seen it, and are glad: Ye that seek after God, let your heart live.
33 For Jehovah heareth the needy, And despiseth not his prisoners.
34 Let heaven and earth praise him, The seas, and everything that moveth therein.
35 For God will save Zion, and build the cities of Judah; And they shall abide there, and have it in possession.
36 The seed also of his servants shall inherit it; And they that love his name shall dwell therein.

Psalms 69:6-36 in Translation for Translators

6 O Yahweh God, you who are the commander of the armies of heaven, do not allow the wrong things that I have done to cause those who trust in you to be disappointed/disillusioned. O God, you whom we Israeli people worship, do not allow me to cause your people to be humiliated.
7 People have insulted/ridiculed me because I am devoted to you. They have thoroughly humiliated IDM me.
8 Even my own older brothers act as if they do not know me; they treat me like a foreigner.
9 Some people have despised your temple; but my zeal for keeping your temple holy is like a fire burning inside me. So it is as though those who are insulting you are also insulting me.
10 When I have humbled myself and ◄fasted/abstained from eating food► to show my sadness about the disgraceful things that they have done to your temple, they just insult me.
11 When I put on rough sackcloth to show that I am sad, they laugh at IDM me.
12 Even the elders of the city say bad things about me. The drunkards of the city sing disgusting songs about me.
13 But Yahweh, I will continue praying to you. At the time that you choose, answer me and rescue me because you faithfully love me.
14 Do not allow me to sink anymore in the mud. Rescue me from those who hate me! Lift me up out of these deep waters!
15 Do not allow flood waters to swirl around me, do not allow the deep mud to swallow me; keep me from sinking into the pit of death MET.
16 O Yahweh, answer my prayer and help me because you are good and love me faithfully.
17 Do not ◄hide yourself from/refuse to hear► me; answer me quickly because I am in great trouble.
18 Come near to me and save me; rescue me from my enemies.
19 You know that I am insulted and that people cause me to feel ashamed and dishonored; you know who all my enemies are.
20 Their insults have deeply offended me, and I ◄feel helpless/am in despair►. I searched for someone who would pity me, but there was no one. I wanted someone to encourage/comfort me, but there were none.
21 Instead, they gave me food that tasted like poison, and when I was thirsty, they gave me sour wine to drink.
22 I hope/desire that the feasts MTY that they enjoy will ◄become a snare for/bring trouble to► them, and that those whom they invite to the sacrificial feasts will also be trapped.
23 I hope/desire that their eyesight will become dim so that they cannot see anything, and that their backs/bodies will become weaker and weaker.
24 Show them that you are very angry with them! Because of your great/furious anger, chase after them and catch them.
25 Cause their towns to become abandoned/deserted and that there will be no one left to live in their tents/houses.
26 Do this because they persecute those whom you have punished, ◄they talk about the sins of/they want to hurt even more► those whom you have wounded.
27 Keep making a record of all their sins, do not acquit/pardon them for the evil things that they have done.
28 Erase their names SYN from the book containing the names of those who have eternal life; do not include them in the list of righteous people.
29 As for me, I have pain and am suffering. O God, protect me and rescue me.
30 When God does that, I will sing as I praise God, and I will honor him by thanking him.
31 My doing that will please Yahweh more than sacrificing oxen, more than offering him full-grown bulls.
32 Oppressed/Afflicted people will see that God has rescued me, and they will be glad. I want all of you who ask God to help you to be encouraged.
33 Yahweh listens to those who are needy; He does not ignore/forget those who are oppressed/imprisoned.
34 I desire that everything will praise God— everything that is in heaven and on earth, and all the creatures that are in the seas.
35 God will rescue the people of Jerusalem from their enemies, and he will rebuild the towns that are in Judah. His people will live there and again possess the land.
36 The descendants of his people will inherit it, and those who love him will live there safely.

Psalms 69:6-36 in Bible in Basic English

6 Let not those who have hope in you be put to shame because of me, O Lord God of armies: let not those who are waiting for you be made low because of me, O God of Israel.
7 I have been wounded with sharp words because of you; my face has been covered with shame.
8 I have become strange to my brothers, and like a man from a far country to my mother's children.
9 I am on fire with passion for your house; and the hard things which are said about you have come on me.
10 My bitter weeping, and my going without food, were turned to my shame.
11 When I put on the clothing of grief, they said evil of me.
12 I am a cause of wonder to those in authority; a song to those who are given to strong drink.
13 But as for me, let my prayer be made to you, O Lord, at a time when you are pleased; O God, give me an answer in your great mercy, for your salvation is certain.
14 Take me from the grip of the sticky earth, so that I may not go down into it; let me be lifted up from the deep waters.
15 Let me not be covered by the flowing waters; let not the deep waters go over my head, and let me not be shut up in the underworld.
16 Give an answer to my words, O Lord; for your mercy is good: be turned to me, because of your great pity.
17 Let not your face be covered from your servant, for I am in trouble; quickly give me an answer.
18 Come near to my soul, for its salvation: be my saviour, because of those who are against me.
19 You have seen my shame, how I was laughed at and made low; my haters are all before you.
20 My heart is broken by bitter words, I am full of grief; I made a search for some to have pity on me, but there was no one; I had no comforter.
21 They gave me poison for my food; and bitter wine for my drink.
22 Let their table before them be for their destruction; let their feasts become a net to take them.
23 Let their eyes be blind so that they may not see; let their bodies for ever be shaking.
24 Let your curse come on them; let the heat of your wrath overtake them.
25 Give their houses to destruction, and let there be no one in their tents.
26 Because they are cruel to him against whom your hand is turned; they make bitter the grief of him who is wounded by you.
27 Let their punishment be increased; let them not come into your righteousness.
28 Let their names be taken from the book of the living, let them not be numbered with the upright.
29 But I am poor and full of sorrow; let me be lifted up by your salvation, O Lord.
30 I will give praise to the name of God with a song; I will give glory to him for what he has done.
31 This will be more pleasing to the Lord than an ox, or a young ox of full growth.
32 The poor will see it and be glad: you who are lovers of God, let your hearts have life.
33 For the ears of the Lord are open to the poor, and he takes thought for his prisoners.
34 Let the heavens and the earth give praise to him, the seas, and everything moving in them.
35 For God will be the saviour of Zion, and the builder of the towns of Judah; so that it may be their resting-place and heritage.
36 The seed of his servants will have their part in it, and there the lovers of his name will have rest.

Psalms 69:6-36 in Darby Translation

6 Let not them that wait on thee, Lord, Jehovah of hosts, be ashamed through me; let not those that seek thee be confounded through me, O God of Israel.
7 Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; confusion hath covered my face.
8 I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's sons;
9 For the zeal of thy house hath devoured me, and the reproaches of them that reproach thee have fallen upon me.
10 And I wept, my soul was fasting: that also was to my reproach; —
11 And I made sackcloth my garment: then I became a proverb to them.
12 They that sit in the gate talk of me, and I am the song of the drunkards.
13 But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, Jehovah, in an acceptable time: O God, in the abundance of thy loving-kindness answer me, according to the truth of thy salvation:
14 Deliver me out of the mire, let me not sink; let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the depths of waters.
15 Let not the flood of waters overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up; and let not the pit shut its mouth upon me.
16 Answer me, O Jehovah; for thy loving-kindness is good: according to the abundance of thy tender mercies, turn toward me;
17 And hide not thy face from thy servant, for I am in trouble: answer me speedily.
18 Draw nigh unto my soul, be its redeemer; ransom me because of mine enemies.
19 Thou knowest my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonour: mine adversaries are all before thee.
20 Reproach hath broken my heart, and I am overwhelmed: and I looked for sympathy, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.
21 Yea, they gave me gall for my food, and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
22 Let their table become a snare before them, and their very welfare a trap;
23 Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not, and make their loins continually to shake.
24 Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let the fierceness of thine anger take hold of them.
25 Let their habitation be desolate; let there be no dweller in their tents.
26 For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten, and they talk for the sorrow of those whom thou hast wounded.
27 Add iniquity unto their iniquity, and let them not come into thy righteousness.
28 Let them be blotted out of the book of life, and not be written with the righteous.
29 But I am afflicted and sorrowful: let thy salvation, O God, set me secure on high.
30 I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving;
31 And it shall please Jehovah more than an ox, — a bullock with horns and cloven hoofs.
32 The meek shall see it, they shall be glad; ye that seek God, your heart shall live.
33 For Jehovah heareth the needy, and despiseth not his prisoners.
34 Let heavens and earth praise him; the seas, and everything that moveth therein.
35 For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah; and they shall dwell there, and possess it:
36 And the seed of his servants shall inherit it, and they that love his name shall dwell therein.

Psalms 69:6-36 in Free Bible Version

6 Don't let those who trust you be ashamed because of me, Lord God Almighty. Don't let those who follow you be disgraced because of me, God of Israel.
7 For your sake I put up with the insults; my face shows my embarrassment.
8 I have become a foreigner to my brother Israelites; a stranger to my very own brothers.
9 My devotion for your house is burning me up inside; the insults of those who insulted you have fallen on me.
10 I wept and I fasted, but they mocked me;
11 I mourned in sackcloth, but they laughed at me.
12 People sitting by the town gate gossip about me. I'm the subject of rude songs sung by drunks.
13 But my prayer is to you, Lord, believing this is a good time to respond to me. God, in your wonderful trustworthy love, answer me with your sure salvation.
14 Please rescue me from the mud—don't let me sink! Save me from those who hate me and from drowning in the deep waters!
15 Don't let the flood waters wash over me. Don't let the deep waters pull me down. Don't let the grave close over me.
16 Please answer my prayers, Lord, for you are good and love me with your trustworthy love; because of your kindness, please help me.
17 Don't turn away from me, your servant. Please answer me quickly because I'm in trouble.
18 Come here and rescue me; set me free from my enemies.
19 You—you know my shame, my disgrace, my humiliation. You see everything my enemies are doing.
20 Insults have broken my heart—I am so sick there is no cure. I looked for some sympathy, but there was no one! Nobody showed me any compassion.
21 Instead they gave me bitter herbs to eat and vinegar to drink.
22 May the table set before them become a trap for them, a net that catches them, bringing punishment.
23 May their eyes become blind so they cannot see, and may their backs always be bent low in dejection.
24 Pour out your judgment on them; chase them down in your fierce anger.
25 Let the places where they live be deserted. Let their homes be abandoned.
26 For they persecute those you have punished, and make it even more painful for those you have disciplined.
27 Punish them for the evil they have done. Don't acquit them.
28 Blot out their names from the Book of Life. Don't let them be listed with those who do right.
29 But I am suffering and in physical pain. God, please save me and keep me safe.
30 I will praise God's character in song; I will say how incredible he is and how thankful I am.
31 The Lord is happier with this than with offering animals as sacrifices: cattle, or bulls with horns and hooves.
32 The humble will see this and be happy. May God encourage everyone who comes to him.
33 God hears the poor, and he does not ignore his people who are in prison.
34 Praise him heaven and earth, the seas and everything that lives in them!
35 For God will save Zion, and rebuild the cities of Judah. They will live there and own the land.
36 The descendants of those who follow him will inherit the land, and those who love him will live there.

6 Let not them that trust in thee, O Lord God of hostes, be ashamed for me: let not those that seeke thee, be confounded through mee, O God of Israel.
7 For thy sake haue I suffred reproofe: shame hath couered my face.
8 I am become a stranger vnto my brethren, euen an aliant vnto my mothers sonnes.
9 For the zeale of thine house hath eaten mee, and the rebukes of them that rebuked thee, are fallen vpon me.
10 I wept and my soule fasted, but that was to my reproofe.
11 I put on a sacke also: and I became a prouerbe vnto them.
12 They that sate in the gate, spake of mee, and the drunkards sang of me.
13 But Lord, I make my praier vnto thee in an acceptable time, euen in the multitude of thy mercie: O God, heare me in the trueth of thy saluation.
14 Deliuer mee out of the myre, that I sinke not: let me be deliuered from them that hate me, and out of the deepe waters.
15 Let not the water flood drowne mee, neither let the deepe swallowe me vp: and let not the pit shut her mouth vpon me.
16 Heare me, O Lord, for thy louing kindnes is good: turne vnto me according to ye multitude of thy tender mercies.
17 And hide not thy face from thy seruant, for I am in trouble: make haste and heare me.
18 Draw neere vnto my soule and redeeme it: deliuer me because of mine enemies.
19 Thou hast knowen my reproofe and my shame, and my dishonour: all mine aduersaries are before thee.
20 Rebuke hath broken mine heart, and I am full of heauinesse, and I looked for some to haue pitie on me, but there was none: and for comforters, but I found none.
21 For they gaue me gall in my meate, and in my thirst they gaue me vineger to drinke.
22 Let their table be a snare before them, and their prosperitie their ruine.
23 Let their eyes be blinded that they see not: and make their loynes alway to tremble.
24 Powre out thine anger vpon them, and let thy wrathfull displeasure take them.
25 Let their habitation be voide, and let none dwell in their tents.
26 For they persecute him, whome thou hast smitten: and they adde vnto the sorrowe of them, whome thou hast wounded.
27 Laie iniquitie vpon their iniquitie, and let them not come into thy righteousnesse.
28 Let them be put out of the booke of life, neither let them be written with the righteous.
29 When I am poore and in heauinesse, thine helpe, O God, shall exalt me.
30 I will praise the Name of God with a song, and magnifie him with thankesgiuing.
31 This also shall please the Lord better then a yong bullocke, that hath hornes and hoofes.
32 The humble shall see this, and they that seeke God, shalbe glad, and your heart shall liue.
33 For the Lord heareth the poore, and despiseth not his prisoners.
34 Let heauen and earth praise him: the seas and all that moueth in them.
35 For God will saue Zion, and builde the cities of Iudah, that men may dwell there and haue it in possession.
36 The seede also of his seruants shall inherit it: and they that loue his name, shall dwel therein.

23 (69:24) May their eyes become dark, that they cannot see; and make their loins continually to waver.
24 (69:25) Pour out over them thy indignation, and let the heat of thy anger overtake them.
25 (69:26) May their palace become desolate: in their tents let no one dwell.

Psalms 69:6-36 in George Noyes Bible

6 Let not them that trust in thee through me be put to shame, O Lord Jehovah, God of hosts! Let not them that seek thee through me be confounded, O God of Israel!
7 For on account of thee do I suffer reproach, And shame covereth my face!
8 I am become a stranger to my brothers; Yea, an alien to my mother's sons.
9 For zeal for thy house consumeth me, And the reproaches of them that reproach thee fall upon me.
10 When I weep and fast, That is made my reproach;
11 When I clothe myself in sackcloth, Then I become their by-word.
12 They who sit in the gate speak against me, And I am become the song of drunkards.
13 Yet will I address my prayer to thee, O LORD! May it be in an acceptable time according to thy great goodness! Hear, O God! and afford me thy sure help!
14 Save me from the mire, and let me not sink; May I be delivered from my enemies,—from the deep waters!
15 Let not the water-flood overflow me; Let not the deep swallow me up, And let not the pit close her mouth upon me!
16 Hear me, O LORD! since great is thy loving-kindness; According to the abundance of thy tender mercies look upon me!
17 Hide not thy face from thy servant; I am greatly distressed, O make haste to mine aid!
18 Draw near to me, and redeem my life; Deliver me because of my enemies!
19 Thou knowest my reproach, and dishonor, and shame; All my adversaries are in thy view!
20 Reproach hath broken my heart, and I am full of heaviness; I look for pity, but there is none; For comforters, but find none.
21 For my food they give me gall, And in my thirst they give me vinegar to drink.
22 May their table be to them a snare; May it be a trap to them, while they are at ease!
23 May their eyes be darkened, that they may not see; And cause their loins continually to shake!
24 Pour out upon them thine indignation, And may the heat of thine anger overtake them!
25 Let their habitation be desolate, And let none dwell in their tents!
26 For they persecute those whom thou hast smitten, And talk of the pain of those whom thou hast wounded.
27 Add iniquity to their iniquity, And let them never come into thy favor!
28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living; Let not their names be written with the righteous!
29 But I am poor, and sorrowful: May thine aid, O God! set me on high!
30 Then I will praise the name of God in a song; I will give glory to him with thanksgiving.
31 More pleasing shall this be to the LORD Than a full-horned and full-hoofed bullock.
32 The afflicted shall see, and rejoice; The hearts of them that fear God shall be revived.
33 For the LORD heareth the poor, And despiseth not his people in their bonds.
34 Let the heaven and the earth praise him; The sea, and all that move therein!
35 For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah, That they may dwell therein, and possess it.
36 Yea, the posterity of his servants shall possess it, And they that love him shall dwell therein.

6 Through me let not any be shamed, who wait for you, Lord God of hosts. Through me let not those be confounded who seek you, O God of Israel.
7 It's in your cause that I have borne taunts, and my face has been covered with shame;
8 I became to my kindred a foreigner, to my mother's sons a stranger.
9 It was zeal for your house that consumed me, and the insults they hurled at you fell upon me.
10 When I chastened myself with fasting, they took occasion to taunt me.
11 When I put on a garment of sackcloth, they made me the theme of a taunt-song.
12 Those who sit in the gate make sport of me in the music of drunken songs.
13 But I pray to you, Lord, for a time of favour. In your great love answer me; with your loyal help, save me
14 from sinking down in the mire. Lift me out of the deep deep waters,
15 that the rushing flood may not drown me, that the deep may not swallow me up, nor the pit close her mouth upon me.
16 Answer me, Lord, in your gracious kindness, turn to me in your great compassion.
17 Hide not your face from your servant, for I am in trouble; O answer me speedily.
18 Draw near to me, redeem me; because of my enemies, ransom me.
19 You know how I am insulted; in your sight are all my foes.
20 Insult has broken my heart, past cure are my shame and confusion. For pity I looked — there was none! And for comforters, but I found none.
21 Poison they gave me for food, and to slake my thirst they gave vinegar.
22 May their table, outspread, be a trap to them, and their peace-offerings be a snare.
23 May their eyes be darkened and blind, make them shake without ceasing.
24 Pour your indignation upon them, let your burning wrath overtake them.
25 May their camp be a desolation, in their tents be there none to live.
26 For those whom you struck, they persecute, and those whom you wounded, they pain yet more.
27 Charge them with sin upon sin, may they not be acquitted by you.
28 From the book of life be they blotted, may their names not be written with the righteous.
29 Lift me, O God, by your help above my pain and misery.
30 Then will I praise God in song and magnify him with thanksgiving,
31 which shall please the Lord better than ox, or than bullock with horns and hoofs.
32 The oppressed shall rejoice at the sight. You who seek after God, let your heart revive.
33 For the Lord listens to the poor, he does not despise his prisoners.
34 Let the heavens and the earth sing his praises, the seas, and all creatures that move in them.

35 For God will bring help to Zion, and build up the cities of Judah, his people shall live there in possession.
36 His servants' children shall have it for heritage, and those who love him shall live therein.

6 Don’t let those who wait for you be shamed through me, Lord Adonai Tzva'ot Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies. Don’t let those who seek you be brought to dishonor through me, God of Israel God prevails.
7 Because for your sake, I have borne reproach. Shame has covered my face.
8 I have become a stranger to my brothers, an alien to my mother’s children.
9 For the zeal of your house consumes me. The insults of those insulting you have fallen on me.
10 When I wept and I fasted, that was to my reproach.
11 When I made sackcloth my clothing, I became a byword to them.
12 Those who sit in the gate talk about me. I am the song of the drunkards.
13 But as for me, my prayer is to you, Adonai , in an acceptable time. God, in the abundance of your loving kindness, answer me in the truth of your yesha' ·salvation·.
14 Deliver me out of the mire, and don’t let me sink. Let me be delivered from those who hate me, and out of the deep waters.
15 Don’t let the flood waters overwhelm me, neither let the deep swallow me up. Don’t let the pit shut its mouth on me.
16 Answer me, Adonai , for your cheshed ·loving-kindness· is good. According to the multitude of your tender racham · merciful love·, turn to me.
17 Don’t hide your face from your servant, for I am in distress. Answer me speedily!
18 Draw near to my soul, and redeem it. Ransom me because of my enemies.
19 You know my reproach, my shame, and my dishonor. My adversaries are all before you.
20 Reproach has broken my heart, and I am full of heaviness. I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; for comforters, but I found none.
21 They also gave me gall for my food. In my thirst, they gave me vinegar to drink.
22 Let their table before them become a snare. May it become a retribution and a trap.
23 Let their eyes be darkened, so that they can’t see. Let their backs be continually bent.
24 Pour out your indignation on them. Let the fierceness of your anger overtake them.
25 Let their habitation be desolate. Let no one dwell in their tents.
26 For they persecute him whom you have wounded. They tell of the sorrow of those whom you have hurt.
27 Charge them with crime upon crime. Don’t let them come into your righteousness.
28 Let them be blotted out of the book of life, and not be written with the upright.
29 But I am in pain and distress. Let your yishu'ah ·salvation·, O God, protect me.
30 I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.
31 It will please Adonai better than an ox, or a bull that has horns and hoofs.
32 The humble have seen it, and are glad. You who seek after God, let your heart live.
33 For Adonai sh'ma ·hears obeys· the needy, and does not despise his captive people.
34 Let heaven and earth praise him; the seas, and everything that moves therein!
35 For God will save Zion Mountain ridge, Marking, and build the cities of Judah Praised. They shall settle there, and own it.
36 The children also of his servants shall inherit it. Those who 'ahav ·affectionately love· his name shall dwell therein.

Psalms 69:6-36 in Unlocked Literal Bible

6 Let not those who hope in you be put to shame because of me, Lord Yahweh of hosts; let not those who seek you be brought to dishonor because of me, God of Israel.
7 For your sake I have borne rebuke; shame has covered my face.
8 I have become a stranger to my brothers, an alien to my mother's children.
9 For the zeal of your house has eaten me up, and the rebukes of those who rebuke you have fallen on me.
10 When I wept and did not eat food, they insulted me.
11 When I made sackcloth my clothing, I became the object of a proverb to them.
12 Those who sit in the city gate talk about me; I am a song of drunkards.
13 But as for me, my prayer is to you, Yahweh, at a time that you will accept; answer me in the trustworthiness of your salvation.
14 Pull me out of the mire, and do not let me sink; let me be taken away from those who hate me and rescued out of the deep waters.
15 Do not let the floods of water overwhelm me, neither let the deep swallow me up. Do not let the pit shut its mouth on me.
16 Answer me, Yahweh, for your covenant faithfulness is good; because your mercies for me are many, turn to me.
17 Do not hide your face from your servant, for I am in distress; answer me quickly.
18 Come to me and redeem me. Because of my enemies, ransom me.
19 You know my rebuke, my shame, and my dishonor; my adversaries are all before you.
20 Rebuke has broken my heart; I am full of heaviness; I looked for someone to take pity, but there was none; I looked for comforters, but I found none.
21 They gave me poison for my food; in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
22 Let their table before them become a snare; when they think they are in safety, let it become a trap.
23 Let their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see; and always make their loins shake.
24 Pour out your indignation on them, and let the fierceness of your anger overtake them.
25 Let their place be a desolation; let no one live in their tents.
26 For they persecuted the one you struck down. They repeated the account of the pain of those you have wounded.
27 Accuse them of having committed iniquity after iniquity; do not let them come into your righteous victory.
28 Let them be blotted out of the Book of Life and not be written down along with the righteous.
29 But I am poor and sorrowful; let your salvation, God, set me up on high.
30 I will praise the name of God with a song and will exalt him with thanksgiving.
31 That will please Yahweh better than an ox or a bull that has horns and hooves.
32 The meek have seen it and are glad; you who seek after God, let your hearts live.
33 For Yahweh hears the needy and does not despise his prisoners.
34 Let heaven and earth praise him, the seas and everything that moves in them.
35 For God will save Zion and will rebuild the cities of Judah; the people will live there and have it as a possession.
36 His servants' descendants will inherit it; and those who love his name will live there.

Psalms 69:6-36 in Noah Webster Bible

6 Let not them that wait on thee, O LORD God of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek thee be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel.
7 Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face.
8 I am become a stranger to my brethren, and an alien to my mother's children.
9 For the zeal of thy house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee have fallen upon me.
10 When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach.
11 I made sackcloth also my garment; and I became a proverb to them.
12 They that sit in the gate speak against me; and I was the song of the drunkards.
13 But as for me, my prayer is to thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.
14 Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.
15 Let not the water-flood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.
16 Hear me, O LORD; for thy loving-kindness is good: turn to me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.
17 And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily.
18 Draw nigh to my soul, and redeem it: deliver me because of my enemies.
19 Thou hast known my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonor: my adversaries are all before thee.
20 Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.
21 They gave me also gall for my food; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
22 Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap.

24 Pour out thy indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them.
25 Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents.
26 For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom thou hast wounded.
27 Add iniquity to their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness.
28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.
29 But I am poor and sorrowful: let thy salvation, O God, set me up on high.

Psalms 69:6-36 in Wycliffe's Bible with Modern Spelling

6 Lord, Lord of virtues; they, that abide thee, be not ashamed in me. God of Israel; they, that seek thee, be not shamed on me.
7 For I suffered shame for thee; shame covered my face.
8 I am made a stranger to my brethren; and a pilgrim to the sons of my mother.
9 For the fervent love of thine house ate me; and the shames of men saying shames to thee fell on me.
10 And I covered my soul with fasting; and it was made into shame to me.
11 And I putted or put for my cloth an hair-shirt; and I am made to them into a parable.
12 They, that sat in the gate, spake against me; and they, that drank wine, sang of me.
13 But Lord, I dress my prayer to thee; God, I abide the time of good pleasance. Hear thou me in the multitude of thy mercy; in the truth of thine health.
14 Deliver thou me from the clay, that I be not fast set-in; deliver thou me from them that hate me, and from the depths or deepness of waters.
15 The tempest of water drench not me down, neither the depth swallow me; neither the pit make strait his mouth on me.
16 Lord, hear thou me, for thy mercy is benign; after the multitude of thy merciful doings behold thou into me.
17 And turn not away thy face from thy servant; for I am in tribulation, hear thou me swiftly.
18 Give thou attention to my soul, and deliver thou it; for mine enemies, deliver thou me.
19 Thou knowest my reproof, and my despising; and my shame. All that trouble me be in thy sight;
20 mine heart abode in shame, and wretchedness. And I abode him, that was sorry together with me, and none was; and that should comfort me, and I found not.
21 And they gave gall into my meat; and in my thirst they gave to me drink with vinegar.
22 The board of them be made before them into a snare; and into yieldings, and into cause of stumbling.
23 Their eyes be made dark, that they see not; and evermore bow down the back of them.
24 Shed or Pour out thine ire or wrath on them; and the strong vengeance of thine ire take them.
25 The habitation of them be made forsaken; and be there none that dwell in the tabernacles of them.
26 For they pursued him, whom thou hast smitten; and they added on the sorrow of my wounds.
27 Add thou wickedness on the wickedness of them; and enter they not into thy rightwiseness.
28 Be they done away from the book of living men; and be they not written with just or rightwise men.
29 I am poor and sorrowful; God, thine health or salvation took me up.
30 I shall praise the name of God with song; and I shall magnify him with praising.
31 And it shall please God more than a new calf bringing forth horns and claws.
32 Poor men see, and be glad; seek ye God, and your soul shall live.
33 For the Lord heard poor men; and despised not his bound men.
34 Heavens and earth, praise him; the sea, and all creeping beasts in those, praise him.
35 For God shall make safe Zion; and the cities of Judah shall be builded. And they shall dwell there; and they shall get it by heritage.
36 And the seed of his servants shall have it in possession; and they that love his name, shall dwell therein.

10 And I covered my soul with fasting; and it was made into shame to me. (I humbled myself by fasting; and I was reproached for even that.)
11 And I putted (for) my cloth an hair-shirt; and I am made to them into a parable. (I had a hair-shirt for my cloak; and for that, I am made into their parable.)

23 Their eyes be made dark, that they see not; and evermore bow down the back of them. (May their eyes be made dark, or dim, so that they cannot see; and bow down their backs forevermore or and make their backs crooked forevermore.)
24 Shed out thine ire on them; and the strong vengeance of thine ire take them. (Pour out thy anger upon them; and let the fury of thy anger take hold of them.)
25 The habitation of them be made forsaken; and be there none that dwell in the tabernacles of them. (May their homes be made empty; and may there be none of them left to live in their tents.)
26 For they pursued him, whom thou hast smitten; and they added on(to) the sorrow of my wounds. (For they pursued after those whom thou hast struck down; yea, they added to the sorrow of those whom thou hast wounded.)
27 Add thou wickedness on(to) the wickedness of them; and enter they not into thy rightwiseness.
28 Be they done away from the book of living men; and be they not written with just men. (Let them be done away from The Book of the Living; and let their names be not written in The List of the Righteous.)
29 I am poor and sorrowful; God, thine health took me up. (I am in pain and full of sorrow; God, lift me up, and save me.)
30 I shall praise the name of God with song; and I shall magnify him with praising.
31 And it shall please God more than a new calf bringing forth horns and claws. (And this shall please God more than the offering of a new calf that hath horns and claws.)
32 Poor men see, and be glad; seek ye God, and your soul shall live. (Let the poor see this, and be glad; seek ye God, and ye shall live.)
33 For the Lord heard poor men; and despised not his bound men. (For the Lord heareth the poor; and despiseth not his people who be imprisoned or and despiseth not those who be bound to his service.)
34 Heavens and earth, praise him; the sea, and all creeping beasts in those, praise him. (Let the heavens and the earth praise him; and the seas, and all the things that move in them.)
35 For God shall make safe Zion; and the cities of Judah shall be builded. And they shall dwell there; and they shall get it by heritage. (For God shall save Zion; and he shall rebuild the cities of Judah. And his people shall live there; and they shall have it as their possession.)
36 And the seed of his servants shall have it in possession; and they that love his name, shall dwell therein. (And the children, or the descendants, of his servants shall get it by inheritance; and they who love his name shall live there.)

Psalms 69:6-36 in Young's Literal Translation

6 Let not those waiting on Thee be ashamed because of me, O Lord, Jehovah of Hosts, Let not those seeking Thee Blush because of me, O God of Israel.
7 For because of Thee I have borne reproach, Shame hath covered my face.
8 A stranger I have been to my brother, And a foreigner to sons of my mother.
9 For zeal for Thy house hath consumed me, And the reproaches of Thy reproachers Have fallen upon me.
10 And I weep in the fasting of my soul, And it is for a reproach to me.
11 And I make my clothing sackcloth, And I am to them for a simile.
12 Those sitting at the gate meditate concerning me, And those drinking strong drink, Play on instruments.
13 And I — my prayer is to Thee, O Jehovah, A time of good pleasure, O God, In the abundance of Thy kindness, Answer me in the truth of Thy salvation.
14 Deliver me from the mire, and let me not sink, Let me be delivered from those hating me, And from deep places of waters.
15 Let not a flood of waters overflow me, Nor let the deep swallow me up, Nor let the pit shut her mouth upon me.
16 Answer me, O Jehovah, for good is Thy kindness, According to the abundance Of Thy mercies turn Thou unto me,
17 And hide not Thy face from Thy servant, For I am in distress — haste, answer me.
18 Be near unto my soul — redeem it, Because of mine enemies ransom me.
19 Thou — Thou hast known my reproach, And my shame, and my blushing, Before Thee are all mine adversaries.
20 Reproach hath broken my heart, and I am sick, And I look for a bemoaner, and there is none, And for comforters, and I have found none.
21 And they give for my food gall, And for my thirst cause me to drink vinegar.
22 Their table before them is for a snare, And for a recompence — for a trap.
23 Darkened are their eyes from seeing, And their loins continually shake Thou.
24 Pour upon them Thine indignation, And the fierceness of Thine anger doth seize them.
25 Their tower is desolated, In their tents there is no dweller.
26 For they have pursued him Thou hast smitten, And recount of the pain of Thy pierced ones.
27 Give punishment for their iniquity, And they enter not into Thy righteousness.
28 They are blotted out of the book of life, And with the righteous are not written.
29 And I am afflicted and pained, Thy salvation, O God, doth set me on high.
30 I praise the name of God with a song, And I magnify Him with thanksgiving,
31 And it is better to Jehovah than an ox, A bullock — horned — hoofed.
32 The humble have seen — they rejoice, Ye who seek God — and your heart liveth.
33 For Jehovah hearkeneth unto the needy, And His bound ones He hath not despised.
34 The heavens and earth do praise Him, Seas, and every moving thing in them.
35 For God doth save Zion, And doth build the cities of Judah, And they have dwelt there, and possess it.
36 And the seed of His servants inherit it, And those loving His name dwell in it!
