⁷ O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, When thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah

⁸ The earth trembled, The heavens also dropped rain at the presence of God: Yon Sinai trembled at the presence of God, the God of Israel.

⁹ Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, Thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.

¹⁰ Thy congregation dwelt therein: Thou, O God, didst prepare of thy goodness for the poor.

¹¹ The Lord giveth the word: The women that publish the tidings are a great host.

¹² Kings of armies flee, they flee; And she that tarrieth at home divideth the spoil.

⁷ Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord of hosts, be ashamed on my account: let not them that seek thee, be ashamed on my account, O God of Israel.

⁸ For I have suffered reproach for thy sake; shame has covered my face.

⁹ I became strange to my brethren, and a stranger to my mother's children.

¹⁰ For the zeal of thine house has eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.

¹¹ And I bowed down my soul with fasting, and that was made my reproach.

¹² And I put on sackcloth for my covering; and I became a proverb to them.

⁸ After you did that, because when you, the God worshiped by us Israeli people, appeared to us at Sinai Mountain,, the earth shook, and rain poured down from the sky.

⁹ You caused plenty of rain to fall on your land*, and so you enabled good crops to grow again on the land that you gave to us Israelis.

¹⁰ Your people built homes there; and because you were good to them, you provided food for those who were poor.

¹¹ The Lord gave a message, and many women took that message to other places.

¹² They proclaimed, “Many kings and their armies are running away from our army!” When our army brought back to their homes the things that they captured, the women who were at home divided up those things among themselves and among their families.

¹² Kings of armies quickly go in flight: and the women in the houses make a division of their goods.

⁹ You sent plenty of rain to water the promised land; refreshing it when it was dry.

¹⁰ Your people settled there, and because of your kindness, God, you looked after the poor. Selah.

¹¹ The Lord gives the command, and a great army of women spread the good news.

¹² The kings of the foreign armies are quick to run away, and the women who stayed at home divide the plunder!

⁸ The earth shooke, and the heauens dropped at the presence of this God: euen Sinai was moued at the presence of God, euen the God of Israel.

⁹ Thou, O God, sendest a gracious raine vpon thine inheritance, and thou didest refresh it when it was wearie.

¹⁰ Thy Congregation dwelled therein: for thou, O God, hast of thy goodnesse prepared it for the poore.

¹¹ The Lord gaue matter to the women to tell of the great armie.

¹² Kings of the armies did flee: they did flee, and she that remained in the house, deuided the spoyle.

⁹ (68:10) Rain of beneficence didst thou pour down, O God, whereby thou didst truly strengthen thy heritage, when it was weary.

¹⁰ (68:11) Thy assembly dwelt therein: thou didst prepare it with thy goodness for the afflicted people. O God,

¹¹ (68:12) The Lord gave happy tidings; they are published by the female messengers, a numerous host.

¹² (68:13) The kings of the armies flee away—flee away: yet she that tarried at home divideth the spoil.

⁹ God, thou shalt impart willful rain to thine heritage, and it was sick; but thou madest it perfect.

¹⁰ Thy beasts shall dwell therein; God, thou hast made ready in thy sweetness to the poor man.

¹¹ The Lord shall give a word; to them that preach the gospel with much virtue.

¹² The kings of virtues be made loved of the darling; and to the fair-ness of the house to part spoils.

⁷ God, when thou wentest out in the sight of thy people; when thou passedest forth in the desert. (God, when thou wentest out before thy people; yea, when thou wentest forth in the wilderness,)

⁸ The earth was moved, for heavens dropped down from the face of God of Sinai; from the face of God of Israel. (the earth shook, and the heavens dropped down rain or and the heavens quaked, before the God of Sinai; yea, before the God of Israel.)

⁹ God, thou shalt (im)part willful rain to thine heritage, and it was sick; but thou madest it perfect. (God, thou imparted abundant rain upon the land of thy inheritance; it was enfeebled, or dry, but thou madest it perfect.)

¹⁰ Thy beasts shall dwell therein; God, thou hast made ready in thy sweetness to the poor man. (And thy people shall live there; God, in thy goodness, thou hast prepared it for the poor.)

¹¹ The Lord shall give a word; to them that preach the gospel with much virtue. (The Lord gave the word; and many women preached this good news.)

¹² The kings of virtues be made loved of the darling; and to the fairness of the house to part spoils. (The kings and their hosts, or their armies, fled away; and she of the house parted the spoils.)

⁷ O God, in Thy going forth before Thy people, In Thy stepping through the wilderness, Selah.

⁸ The earth hath shaken, Yea, the heavens have dropped before God, This Sinai — before God, the God of Israel.

⁹ A shower of free-will gifts thou shakest out, O God. Thine inheritance, when it hath been weary, Thou hast established it.

¹⁰ Thy company have dwelt in it, Thou preparest in Thy goodness for the poor, O God.

¹¹ The Lord doth give the saying, The female proclaimers are a numerous host.

¹² Kings of hosts flee utterly away, And a female inhabitant of the house apportioneth spoil.
