Psalms 68:6-19 in American Standard Version (1901)

6 God setteth the solitary in families: He bringeth out the prisoners into prosperity; But the rebellious dwell in a parched land.
7 O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, When thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah
8 The earth trembled, The heavens also dropped rain at the presence of God: Yon Sinai trembled at the presence of God, the God of Israel.
9 Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, Thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.
10 Thy congregation dwelt therein: Thou, O God, didst prepare of thy goodness for the poor.
11 The Lord giveth the word: The women that publish the tidings are a great host.
12 Kings of armies flee, they flee; And she that tarrieth at home divideth the spoil.
13 When ye lie among the sheepfolds, It is as the wings of a dove covered with silver, And her pinions with yellow gold.
14 When the Almighty scattered kings therein, It was as when it snoweth in Zalmon.
15 A mountain of God is the mountain of Bashan; A high mountain is the mountain of Bashan.
16 Why look ye askance, ye high mountains, At the mountain which God hath desired for his abode? Yea, Jehovah will dwell in it for ever.
17 The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands upon thousands: The Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the sanctuary.
18 Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led away captives; Thou hast received gifts among men, Yea, among the rebellious also, that Jehovah God might dwell with them.
19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily beareth our burden, Even the God who is our salvation. Selah

Psalms 68:6-19 in Brenton Septuagint Translation

6 O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my transgressions are not hidden from thee.
7 Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord of hosts, be ashamed on my account: let not them that seek thee, be ashamed on my account, O God of Israel.
8 For I have suffered reproach for thy sake; shame has covered my face.
9 I became strange to my brethren, and a stranger to my mother's children.
10 For the zeal of thine house has eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.
11 And I bowed down my soul with fasting, and that was made my reproach.
12 And I put on sackcloth for my covering; and I became a proverb to them.
13 They that sit in the gate talked against me, and they that drank wine sang against me.
14 But I will cry to thee, O Lord, in my prayer; O God, it is a propitious time: in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.
15 Save me from the mire, that I stick not in it: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and from the deep waters.
16 Let not the waterflood drown me, nor let the deep swallow me up; neither let the well shut its mouth upon me.
17 Hear me, O Lord; for thy mercy is good: according to the multitude of thy compassions look upon me.
18 And turn not away thy face from thy servant; for I am afflicted: hear me speedily.
19 Draw nigh to my soul and redeem it: deliver me because of mine enemies.

Psalms 68:6-19 in Translation for Translators

6 For those who have no one to live with, he provides families to live with. He frees prisoners and enables them to be successful, but those who rebel against him will be forced to live in a very hot and dry land.
7 God, you led your people out of Egypt, and then you marched with them through the desert.
8 After you did that, because when you, the God worshiped by us Israeli people, appeared to us at Sinai Mountain,, the earth shook, and rain poured down from the sky.
9 You caused plenty of rain to fall on your land*, and so you enabled good crops to grow again on the land that you gave to us Israelis.
10 Your people built homes there; and because you were good to them, you provided food for those who were poor.
11 The Lord gave a message, and many women took that message to other places.
12 They proclaimed, “Many kings and their armies are running away from our army!” When our army brought back to their homes the things that they captured, the women who were at home divided up those things among themselves and among their families.
13 Even those women who were in the pens taking care of the sheep received some of those things; they got statues of doves whose wings were covered with silver and whose feathers were covered with pure yellow gold.
14 When Almighty God scattered the enemy kings and their armies, the number of weapons that they abandoned there seemed like there had been a snowstorm on Zalmon (OR, a black) Mountain.
15 There is a very high mountain in the Bashan region, a mountain which has many peaks.
16 But the people who live near that mountain should not RHQ envy those who live near Zion, the mountain on which God chose to live! Yahweh will live there forever!
17 After we defeated all our enemies, it was as though the Lord, surrounded by many thousands of strong chariots, descended from Sinai Mountain and came into the sacred temple in Jerusalem.
18 He ascended the sacred mountain where his temple is, and took with him many people who had been captured in battles; and received gifts from the enemies whom he had defeated. He received gifts even from those who had rebelled against him, and Yahweh our God will live there in his sacred temple forever.
19 Praise the Lord, who helps us carry our heavy loads every day; he is the one who saves/rescues us.

6 God sets the lonely in families. He brings out the prisoners with singing, but the rebellious dwell in a sun-scorched land.
7 God, when you went out before your people, when you marched through the wilderness... Selah.
8 The earth trembled. The sky also poured down rain at the presence of the God of Sinai— at the presence of God, the God of Israel.
9 You, God, sent a plentiful rain. You confirmed your inheritance when it was weary.
10 Your congregation lived therein. You, God, prepared your goodness for the poor.
11 The Lord announced the word. The ones who proclaim it are a great company.
12 “Kings of armies flee! They flee!” She who waits at home divides the plunder,
13 while you sleep among the camp fires, the wings of a dove sheathed with silver, her feathers with shining gold.
14 When the Almighty scattered kings in her, it snowed on Zalmon.
15 The mountains of Bashan are majestic mountains. The mountains of Bashan are rugged.
16 Why do you look in envy, you rugged mountains, at the mountain where God chooses to reign? Yes, Yahweh will dwell there forever.
17 The chariots of God are tens of thousands and thousands of thousands. The Lord is among them, from Sinai, into the sanctuary.
18 You have ascended on high. You have led away captives. You have received gifts among people, yes, among the rebellious also, that Yah God might dwell there.

Psalms 68:6-19 in Bible in Basic English

6 Those who are without friends, God puts in families; he makes free those who are in chains; but those who are turned away from him are given a dry land.
7 O God, when you went out before your people, wandering through the waste land; (Selah.)
8 The earth was shaking and the heavens were streaming, because God was present; even Sinai itself was moved before God, the God of Israel.
9 You, O God, did freely send the rain, giving strength to the weariness of your heritage.
10 Those whose resting-place was there, even the poor, were comforted by your good things, O God.
11 The Lord gives the word; great is the number of the women who make it public.
12 Kings of armies quickly go in flight: and the women in the houses make a division of their goods.
13 Will you take your rest among the flocks? like the wings of a dove covered with silver, and its feathers with yellow gold.
14 When the Most High put the kings to flight, it was as white as snow in Salmon.
15 A hill of God is the hill of Bashan; a hill with high tops is the hill of Bashan.
16 Why are you looking with envy, you high hills, on the hill desired by God as his resting-place? truly, God will make it his house for ever.
17 The war-carriage of God is among Israel's thousands; the Lord has come from Sinai to the holy place.
18 You have gone up on high, taking your prisoners with you; you have taken offerings from men; the Lord God has taken his place on the seat of his power.
19 Praise be to the Lord, who is our support day by day, even the God of our salvation. (Selah.)

11 The Lord gives the word: great the host of the publishers.
12 Kings of armies flee; they flee, and she that tarrieth at home divideth the spoil.
13 Though ye have lain among the sheepfolds, ye shall be as wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with green gold.
14 When the Almighty scattered kings in it, it became snow-white as Zalmon.

Psalms 68:6-19 in Douay-Rheims 1899

6 O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my offences are not hidden from thee:
7 Let not them be ashamed for me, who look for thee, O Lord, the Lord of hosts. Let them not be confounded on my account, who seek thee, O God of Israel.
8 Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face.
9 I am become a stranger to my brethren, and an alien to the sons of my mother.
10 For the zeal of thy house hath eaten me up: and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.
11 And I covered my soul in fasting: and it was made a reproach to me.
12 And I made haircloth my garment: and I became a byword to them.
13 They that sat in the gate spoke against me: and they that drank wine made me their song.
14 But as for me, my prayer is to thee, O Lord; for the time of thy good pleasure, O God. In the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.
15 Draw me out of the mire, that I may not stick fast: deliver me from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.
16 Let not the tempest of water drown me, nor the deep swallow me up: and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.
17 Hear me, O Lord, for thy mercy is kind; look upon me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.
18 And turn not away thy face from thy servant: for I am in trouble, hear me speedily.
19 Attend to my soul, and deliver it: save me because of my enemies.

Psalms 68:6-19 in Free Bible Version

6 God gives those who are abandoned a family to live with. He sets prisoners free with celebration. But those who rebel live in a desert wasteland.
7 God, when you led your people out, when you marched through the desert, Selah,
8 the earth quaked, and the heavens shook before God, the one of Sinai; before God, the God of Israel.
9 You sent plenty of rain to water the promised land; refreshing it when it was dry.
10 Your people settled there, and because of your kindness, God, you looked after the poor. Selah.
11 The Lord gives the command, and a great army of women spread the good news.
12 The kings of the foreign armies are quick to run away, and the women who stayed at home divide the plunder!
13 Why are you staying at home? There are ornaments in the shape of a dove with wings of silver and feathers of fine gold to be taken.
14 The Almighty scattered the foreign kings like a snowstorm on Mount Zalmon.
15 “Mountain of God,” Mount Bashan, with your many high peaks, Mount Bashan,
16 why do you look enviously, mountain with many peaks, at the mountain God chose as his home, where the Lord will live forever?
17 God's chariots can't be counted; there are thousands and thousands of them. He comes among them from Sinai into his Temple.
18 As you ascended to your high throne you led a procession of prisoners. You received gifts from the people, even from those who had rebelled against the home of the Lord God.
19 May the Lord be blessed, for every day he carries our burdens. God is our salvation. Selah.

6 (68:7) God places those who are solitary in the midst of their families: he bringeth out those who are bound unto happiness; but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.
7 (68:8) O God, when thou didst go forth before thy people, when thou didst tread along through the wilderness—Selah—
8 (68:9) The earth quaked, also the heavens dropped at the presence of God, yea, this Sinai, at the presence of God, the God of Israel.
9 (68:10) Rain of beneficence didst thou pour down, O God, whereby thou didst truly strengthen thy heritage, when it was weary.
10 (68:11) Thy assembly dwelt therein: thou didst prepare it with thy goodness for the afflicted people. O God,
11 (68:12) The Lord gave happy tidings; they are published by the female messengers, a numerous host.
12 (68:13) The kings of the armies flee away—flee away: yet she that tarried at home divideth the spoil.
13 (68:14) When ye lie still between the folds of your cattle, ye will be like the wings of the dove covered with sliver, and her pinions shining with flaming gold.
14 (68:15) When the Almighty scattered kings in the midst of her, then even in darkness shone light as pure as snow.
15 (68:16) A mountain of God is the mount of Bashan; many peaks hath the mount of Bashan.
16 (68:17) Why watch ye enviously, ye many-peaked mountains, yonder mountain which God hath chosen for his residence? yea, the Lord will also dwell there for ever.
17 (68:18) The chariots of God are two myriads; thousands of angels follow him: the Lord is among them: so is Sinai holy among mountains.
18 (68:19) Thou didst ascend on high, lead away captives, receive gifts among men, yea, even the rebellious, to dwell among them. O Lord God.
19 (68:20) Blessed be the Lord; day by day he loadeth us with benefits; our God is our salvation. Selah.

Psalms 68:6-19 in Updated Brenton English Septuagint

6 O God, thou knowest my foolishness; And my transgressions are not hidden from thee.
7 Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord of hosts, be ashamed on my account: let not them that seek thee, be ashamed on my account, O God of Israel.
8 For I have suffered reproach for thy sake; Shame has covered my face.
9 I became strange to my brethren, And a stranger to my mother’s children.
10 For the zeal of thy house has eaten me up; And the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.

Psalms 68:6-19 in George Noyes Bible

6 God causeth the forsaken to dwell in houses; He leadeth forth to prosperity them that are bound; But the rebellious shall dwell in a barren land.
7 O God! when thou didst go before thy people, When thou didst march through the wilderness. Pause.
8 The earth quaked, and the heavens dropped at the presence of God; This Sinai trembled at the presence of God, the God of Israel.
9 Thou, O God! didst send a plentiful rain; Thou didst strengthen thy wearied inheritance.
10 Thy people established themselves in the land; Thou, O God! in thy goodness, didst prepare it for the needy!
11 The Lord gave the song of victory Of the maidens publishing glad tidings to the mighty host.
12 “The kings with their armies have fled, —have fled! And the matron at home divideth the spoil.
13 Truly ye may repose yourselves in the stalls, Like the wings of a dove covered with silver, And her feathers with shining gold.”
14 When the Most High destroyed the kings in the land, It was white with their bones like Salmon.
15 Ye lofty hills, ye hills of Bashan, Ye many-topped hills, ye hills of Bashan,
16 Why frown ye, ye many-topped hills, At the hill in which God is pleased to dwell, In which Jehovah will dwell for ever?
17 The chariots of God are myriads, yea, thousands of thousands; The Lord is in the midst of them, as upon Sinai, in the sanctuary.
18 Thou hast ascended on high, Thou hast led captive the vanquished, Thou hast received gifts among men, Even the rebellious, that here thou mightst dwell, O LORD God!
19 Praised be the Lord daily! When we are heavy-laden, the Mighty One is our help.

Psalms 68:6-19 in Wycliffe's Bible with Modern Spelling

6 God that maketh men of one will to dwell in the house. Which leadeth out by strength them that be bound; in like manner them that make sharp or that stir, that dwell in sepulchres.
7 God, when thou wentest out in the sight of thy people; when thou passedest forth in the desert.
8 The earth was moved, for heavens dropped down from the face of God of Sinai; from the face of God of Israel.
9 God, thou shalt impart willful rain to thine heritage, and it was sick; but thou madest it perfect.
10 Thy beasts shall dwell therein; God, thou hast made ready in thy sweetness to the poor man.
11 The Lord shall give a word; to them that preach the gospel with much virtue.
12 The kings of virtues be made loved of the darling; and to the fair-ness of the house to part spoils.
13 If ye sleep among the midst of sorts, either heritages, yet ye shall be as the feathers of the culver that be covered of silver; and the hinder things of the back thereof be in the shining of gold.
14 While the king of heaven deemeth kings thereon, they shall be made whiter than snow in Zalmon;
15 the hill of God is a fat hill. The crudded hill is a fat hill;
16 whereto believe ye falsely, ye crudded hills? The hill in which it pleaseth well God to dwell therein; for the Lord shall dwell into the end.
17 The chariot of God is manyfold with ten thousand, a thousand of them that be glad; the Lord was in them, in Sinai, in the holy place.
18 Thou ascendedest on high, thou tookest captivity captive; thou receiv-edest gifts among men. For why thou tookest also from them that believed not; for to dwell in the Lord God.
19 Blessed be the Lord each day; the God of our healths shall make an easy way to us.

Psalms 68:6-19 in Wycliffe's Bible with Modern Spelling (Enhanced)

6 God that maketh men of one will to dwell in the house. Which leadeth out by strength them that be bound; in like manner them that make sharp, that dwell in sepulchres. (yea, God who helpeth people to come and live in a house with others. And who leadeth out those who be bound into freedom; but they who rebel shall live in a dry land.)
7 God, when thou wentest out in the sight of thy people; when thou passedest forth in the desert. (God, when thou wentest out before thy people; yea, when thou wentest forth in the wilderness,)
8 The earth was moved, for heavens dropped down from the face of God of Sinai; from the face of God of Israel. (the earth shook, and the heavens dropped down rain or and the heavens quaked, before the God of Sinai; yea, before the God of Israel.)
9 God, thou shalt (im)part willful rain to thine heritage, and it was sick; but thou madest it perfect. (God, thou imparted abundant rain upon the land of thy inheritance; it was enfeebled, or dry, but thou madest it perfect.)
10 Thy beasts shall dwell therein; God, thou hast made ready in thy sweetness to the poor man. (And thy people shall live there; God, in thy goodness, thou hast prepared it for the poor.)
11 The Lord shall give a word; to them that preach the gospel with much virtue. (The Lord gave the word; and many women preached this good news.)
12 The kings of virtues be made loved of the darling; and to the fairness of the house to part spoils. (The kings and their hosts, or their armies, fled away; and she of the house parted the spoils.)
13 If ye sleep among the midst of sorts, either heritages, (yet ye shall be as) the feathers of the culver (that) be (covered) of silver; and the hinder things of the back thereof be in the shining of gold. (Though ye have slept among the pots, yet ye shall be like the wings of the dove that be covered with silver; and the feathers on its back that be covered with shining gold.)
14 While the king of heaven deemeth kings thereon, they shall be made whiter than snow in Salmon; (When the King of heaven scattered the kings there; they fell like the snow in Salmon.)
15 the hill of God is a fat hill. The crudded hill is a fat hill; (The hill of God is like Mount Bashan; yea, the curdled hill is like Mount Bashan, with many peaks.)
16 whereto believe ye falsely, (ye) crudded hills? The hill in which it pleaseth well God to dwell therein; for the Lord shall dwell (there) into the end. (But why, ye curdled hills, gaze ye with envy at the hill where it well pleaseth God to live? for the Lord shall live there forever!)
17 The chariot of God is manyfold with ten thousand, a thousand of them that be glad; the Lord was in them, in Sinai, in the holy (place). (The chariots of God be twice ten thousand, yea, many thousands; the Lord came with them, from Sinai, to the holy place.)
18 Thou ascendedest on high, thou tookest captivity (captive); thou receivedest gifts among men. For why thou tookest (also from) them that believed not; for to dwell in the Lord God. (Thou ascendedest on high, thou tookest the captivity captive; thou receivedest gifts, or tribute, from people. But thou also receivedest gifts from those who believed not or from those who were rebellious; so that the Lord God might live among them.)
19 Blessed be the Lord each day; the God of our healths shall make an easy way to us. (Blessed be the Lord; each day the God of our salvation shall make our way easier for us.)
