² As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: As wax melteth before the fire, So let the wicked perish at the presence of God.

³ But let the righteous be glad; let them exult before God: Yea, let them rejoice with gladness.

⁴ Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: Cast up a highway for him that rideth through the deserts; His name is Jehovah; and exult ye before him.

⁵ A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, Is God in his holy habitation.

⁶ God setteth the solitary in families: He bringeth out the prisoners into prosperity; But the rebellious dwell in a parched land.

⁷ O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, When thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah

⁸ The earth trembled, The heavens also dropped rain at the presence of God: Yon Sinai trembled at the presence of God, the God of Israel.

⁹ Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, Thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.

¹⁰ Thy congregation dwelt therein: Thou, O God, didst prepare of thy goodness for the poor.

¹¹ The Lord giveth the word: The women that publish the tidings are a great host.

¹² Kings of armies flee, they flee; And she that tarrieth at home divideth the spoil.

¹³ When ye lie among the sheepfolds, It is as the wings of a dove covered with silver, And her pinions with yellow gold.

¹⁴ When the Almighty scattered kings therein, It was as when it snoweth in Zalmon.

¹⁵ A mountain of God is the mountain of Bashan; A high mountain is the mountain of Bashan.

¹⁶ Why look ye askance, ye high mountains, At the mountain which God hath desired for his abode? Yea, Jehovah will dwell in it for ever.

¹⁷ The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands upon thousands: The Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the sanctuary.

¹⁸ Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led away captives; Thou hast received gifts among men, Yea, among the rebellious also, that Jehovah God might dwell with them.

¹⁹ Blessed be the Lord, who daily beareth our burden, Even the God who is our salvation. Selah

²⁰ God is unto us a God of deliverances; And unto Jehovah the Lord belongeth escape from death.

²¹ But God will smite through the head of his enemies, The hairy scalp of such a one as goeth on still in his guiltiness.

²² The Lord said, I will bring again from Bashan, I will bring them again from the depths of the sea;

²³ That thou mayest crush them, dipping thy foot in blood, That the tongue of thy dogs may have its portion from thine enemies.

²⁴ They have seen thy goings, O God, Even the goings of my God, my King, into the sanctuary.

²⁵ The singers went before, the minstrels followed after, In the midst of the damsels playing with timbrels.

²⁶ Bless ye God in the congregations, Even the Lord, ye that are of the fountain of Israel.

²⁷ There is little Benjamin their ruler, The princes of Judah and their council, The princes of Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali.

²⁸ Thy God hath commanded thy strength: Strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us.

²⁹ Because of thy temple at Jerusalem Kings shall bring presents unto thee.

³⁰ Rebuke the wild beast of the reeds, The multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the peoples, Trampling under foot the pieces of silver: He hath scattered the peoples that delight in war.

² Save me, O God; for the waters have come in to my soul.

³ I am stuck fast in deep mire, and there is no standing: I am come in to the depths of the sea, and a storm has overwhelmed me.

⁴ I am weary of crying, my throat has become hoarse; mine eyes have failed by my waiting on my God.

⁵ They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head: my enemies that persecute me unrighteously are strengthened: then I restored that which I took not away.

⁶ O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my transgressions are not hidden from thee.

⁷ Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord of hosts, be ashamed on my account: let not them that seek thee, be ashamed on my account, O God of Israel.

⁸ For I have suffered reproach for thy sake; shame has covered my face.

⁹ I became strange to my brethren, and a stranger to my mother's children.

¹⁴ But I will cry to thee, O Lord, in my prayer; O God, it is a propitious time: in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.

¹⁵ Save me from the mire, that I stick not in it: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and from the deep waters.

¹⁶ Let not the waterflood drown me, nor let the deep swallow me up; neither let the well shut its mouth upon me.

¹⁷ Hear me, O Lord; for thy mercy is good: according to the multitude of thy compassions look upon me.

¹⁸ And turn not away thy face from thy servant; for I am afflicted: hear me speedily.

¹⁹ Draw nigh to my soul and redeem it: deliver me because of mine enemies.

² Like wind blows smoke away, chase your enemies away. Like wax melts when it is near a fire, cause wicked people to ◄disappear/be destroyed►.

³ But righteous people should be joyful; they should rejoice when they are in God's presence; they should be happy, and be very joyful.

⁴ Sing to God; sing to praise him; sing a song (OR, make a road) for him who rides on the clouds; his name is Yahweh; be glad when you are in his presence.

⁵ God, who lives in his sacred temple, is like MET a father to those who are orphans, and he is the one who protects widows.

⁶ For those who have no one to live with, he provides families to live with. He frees prisoners and enables them to be successful, but those who rebel against him will be forced to live in a very hot and dry land.

⁷ God, you led your people out of Egypt, and then you marched with them through the desert.

⁸ After you did that, because when you, the God worshiped by us Israeli people, appeared to us at Sinai Mountain,, the earth shook, and rain poured down from the sky.

⁹ You caused plenty of rain to fall on your land*, and so you enabled good crops to grow again on the land that you gave to us Israelis.

¹⁰ Your people built homes there; and because you were good to them, you provided food for those who were poor.

¹¹ The Lord gave a message, and many women took that message to other places.

¹² They proclaimed, “Many kings and their armies are running away from our army!” When our army brought back to their homes the things that they captured, the women who were at home divided up those things among themselves and among their families.

¹³ Even those women who were in the pens taking care of the sheep received some of those things; they got statues of doves whose wings were covered with silver and whose feathers were covered with pure yellow gold.

¹⁴ When Almighty God scattered the enemy kings and their armies, the number of weapons that they abandoned there seemed like there had been a snowstorm on Zalmon (OR, a black) Mountain.

¹⁵ There is a very high mountain in the Bashan region, a mountain which has many peaks.

¹⁶ But the people who live near that mountain should not RHQ envy those who live near Zion, the mountain on which God chose to live! Yahweh will live there forever!

¹⁷ After we defeated all our enemies, it was as though the Lord, surrounded by many thousands of strong chariots, descended from Sinai Mountain and came into the sacred temple in Jerusalem.

¹⁸ He ascended the sacred mountain where his temple is, and took with him many people who had been captured in battles; and received gifts from the enemies whom he had defeated. He received gifts even from those who had rebelled against him, and Yahweh our God will live there in his sacred temple forever.

¹⁹ Praise the Lord, who helps us carry our heavy loads every day; he is the one who saves/rescues us.

²⁰ Our God is the God who saves us; He is Yahweh, our Lord, the one who ◄allows us to escape/prevents us► from being killed in battles.

²¹ But God will smash the heads of his enemies, the skulls of those who continue to behave sinfully.

²² The Lord said, “I will bring back the corpses of those who were killed in Bashan, and I will bring back those who sank deep in the ocean and drowned.

²³ I will do that in order that you may wash your feet in their blood, and your dogs can also lap up some of your enemies' blood.”

²⁴ God, many people see you march triumphantly into your sacred temple, celebrating that you have defeated your enemies. You march like a king does, and a large crowd walks with you.

²⁵ The singers are in front, and the people who play stringed instruments are at the rear, and young women who are beating their tambourines are between them.

²⁶ They are all singing, “You Israeli people, praise God when you gather together; praise Yahweh, all you who are descendants of Jacob!”

²⁷ First come the people of the tribe of Benjamin, the smallest tribe, and following them come the leaders of the tribe of Judah and their group, and following them come the leaders of the tribes of Zebulun and Naphtali.

²⁸ God, show people that you are very powerful; show people the power with which you have helped us previously.

²⁹ Show that power from your temple in Jerusalem, where kings bring gifts to you.

³⁰ Rebuke your enemies, such as those in Egypt who are like wild hippopotamuses/animals that live in the reeds; and powerful nations that are like bulls that are among their calves MET; rebuke/trample them until they bow down and give you gifts of silver. Scatter the people who enjoy making wars.

⁹ You, God, sent a plentiful rain. You confirmed your inheritance when it was weary.

¹⁰ Your congregation lived therein. You, God, prepared your goodness for the poor.

¹¹ The Lord announced the word. The ones who proclaim it are a great company.

¹² “Kings of armies flee! They flee!” She who waits at home divides the plunder,

⁵ A father to those who have no father, a judge of the widows, is God in his holy place.

⁶ Those who are without friends, God puts in families; he makes free those who are in chains; but those who are turned away from him are given a dry land.

¹⁶ Why are you looking with envy, you high hills, on the hill desired by God as his resting-place? truly, God will make it his house for ever.

¹⁷ The war-carriage of God is among Israel's thousands; the Lord has come from Sinai to the holy place.

¹⁸ You have gone up on high, taking your prisoners with you; you have taken offerings from men; the Lord God has taken his place on the seat of his power.

¹⁹ Praise be to the Lord, who is our support day by day, even the God of our salvation. (Selah.)

²⁰ Our God is for us a God of salvation; his are the ways out of death.

³⁰ Say sharp words to the beast among the water-plants, the band of strong ones, with the lords of the peoples, put an end to the people whose delight is in war.

³ But the righteous shall rejoice: they shall exult before God and be glad with joy.

³ But those who are right with God are happy, and they celebrate in God's presence, full of joy.

⁴ Sing praises to God! Sing praises to his wonderful reputation! Praise the rider of the clouds—his name is the Lord! Be happy in his presence!

⁵ He is a father to the orphans, a protector of widows. This is who God is, who lives in his holy place.

⁶ God gives those who are abandoned a family to live with. He sets prisoners free with celebration. But those who rebel live in a desert wasteland.

⁷ God, when you led your people out, when you marched through the desert, Selah,

⁸ the earth quaked, and the heavens shook before God, the one of Sinai; before God, the God of Israel.

⁹ You sent plenty of rain to water the promised land; refreshing it when it was dry.

¹⁰ Your people settled there, and because of your kindness, God, you looked after the poor. Selah.

¹¹ The Lord gives the command, and a great army of women spread the good news.

¹² The kings of the foreign armies are quick to run away, and the women who stayed at home divide the plunder!

¹³ Why are you staying at home? There are ornaments in the shape of a dove with wings of silver and feathers of fine gold to be taken.

¹⁴ The Almighty scattered the foreign kings like a snowstorm on Mount Zalmon.

¹⁵ “Mountain of God,” Mount Bashan, with your many high peaks, Mount Bashan,

¹⁶ why do you look enviously, mountain with many peaks, at the mountain God chose as his home, where the Lord will live forever?

¹⁷ God's chariots can't be counted; there are thousands and thousands of them. He comes among them from Sinai into his Temple.

¹⁸ As you ascended to your high throne you led a procession of prisoners. You received gifts from the people, even from those who had rebelled against the home of the Lord God.

¹⁹ May the Lord be blessed, for every day he carries our burdens. God is our salvation. Selah.

²⁰ For us, God is a God who saves. The Lord God provides our escape from death.

²¹ But God will crush the heads of his enemies, the hairy heads of those who continue to sin.

²² The Lord says, “I will drag them down from Bashan; I will drag them up from the depths of the sea,

²³ so that you may walk in their blood. Even your dogs will have their share of your enemies.”

²⁴ People watch your processions, God—the processions of my God and King as they go into the Temple.

²⁵ The singers are at the front, the musicians at the back, and in the middle girls playing tambourines.

²⁶ Praise God, everyone who has come to worship; praise the Lord, everyone who belongs to Israel.

²⁷ There is the little tribe of Benjamin, followed by the many leaders from Judah; then come the leaders of Zebulun and Naphtali.

²⁸ Display your power, God! Reveal your strength, Lord, as you have done for us in the past.

²⁹ Because of your Temple in Jerusalem, kings bring tribute to you.

³⁰ Condemn the beasts of the reeds, the bulls and calves! May they be humbled and bring bars of silver in tribute! Scatter the war-loving nations!

² As the smoke vanisheth, so shalt thou driue them away: and as waxe melteth before the fire, so shall the wicked perish at the presence of God.

³ But the righteous shalbe glad, and reioyce before God: yea, they shall leape for ioye.

¹⁹ Praysed be the Lord, euen the God of our saluation, which ladeth vs dayly with benefites. Selah.

¹⁶ (68:17) Why watch ye enviously, ye many-peaked mountains, yonder mountain which God hath chosen for his residence? yea, the Lord will also dwell there for ever.

¹⁷ (68:18) The chariots of God are two myriads; thousands of angels follow him: the Lord is among them: so is Sinai holy among mountains.

¹⁸ (68:19) Thou didst ascend on high, lead away captives, receive gifts among men, yea, even the rebellious, to dwell among them. O Lord God.

¹⁵ A hill of God is the hill of Bashan, A hill of heights is the hill of Bashan.

¹⁶ Why do ye envy, O high hills, The hill God hath desired for His seat? Jehovah also doth tabernacle for ever.

¹⁷ The chariots of God are myriads, thousands of changes, The Lord is among them, in Sinai, in the sanctuary.

¹⁸ Thou hast ascended on high, Thou hast taken captive captivity, Thou hast taken gifts for men, That even the refractory may rest, O Jah God.

¹⁹ Blessed is the Lord, day by day He layeth on us. God Himself is our salvation. Selah.

²⁰ God Himself is to us a God for deliverances, And Jehovah Lord hath the outgoings of death.

²¹ Only — God doth smite The head of His enemies, The hairy crown of a habitual walker in his guilt.

²² The Lord said: 'From Bashan I bring back, I bring back from the depths of the sea.

²³ So that thou dashest thy foot in blood, In the blood of enemies — the tongue of Thy dogs.'

²⁴ They have seen Thy goings, O God, Goings of my God, my king, in the sanctuary.

²⁵ Singers have been before, Behind are players on instruments, In the midst virgins playing with timbrels.

²⁶ In assemblies bless ye God, The Lord — from the fountain of Israel.

²⁷ There is little Benjamin their ruler, Heads of Judah their defence, Heads of Zebulun — heads of Naphtali.

²⁸ Thy God hath commanded thy strength, Be strong, O God, this Thou hast wrought for us.

²⁹ Because of Thy temple at Jerusalem, To Thee do kings bring a present.

³⁰ Rebuke a beast of the reeds, a company of bulls, With calves of the peoples, Each humbling himself with pieces of silver, Scatter Thou peoples delighting in conflicts.
