² As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: As wax melteth before the fire, So let the wicked perish at the presence of God.

³ But let the righteous be glad; let them exult before God: Yea, let them rejoice with gladness.

⁴ Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: Cast up a highway for him that rideth through the deserts; His name is Jehovah; and exult ye before him.

⁵ A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, Is God in his holy habitation.

⁶ God setteth the solitary in families: He bringeth out the prisoners into prosperity; But the rebellious dwell in a parched land.

³ But righteous people should be joyful; they should rejoice when they are in God's presence; they should be happy, and be very joyful.

⁴ Sing to God; sing to praise him; sing a song (OR, make a road) for him who rides on the clouds; his name is Yahweh; be glad when you are in his presence.

⁵ God, who lives in his sacred temple, is like MET a father to those who are orphans, and he is the one who protects widows.

⁶ For those who have no one to live with, he provides families to live with. He frees prisoners and enables them to be successful, but those who rebel against him will be forced to live in a very hot and dry land.

⁷ God, you led your people out of Egypt, and then you marched with them through the desert.

⁴ Make songs to God, make songs of praise to his name; make a way for him who comes through the waste lands; his name is Jah; be glad before him.

⁵ A father to those who have no father, a judge of the widows, is God in his holy place.

⁶ Those who are without friends, God puts in families; he makes free those who are in chains; but those who are turned away from him are given a dry land.

⁷ O God, when you went out before your people, wandering through the waste land; (Selah.)

³ I stick fast in the mire of the deep: and there is no sure standing. I am come into the depth of the sea: and a tempest hath overwhelmed me.

⁴ I have laboured with crying; my jaws are become hoarse: my eyes have failed, whilst I hope in my God.

⁵ They are multiplied above the hairs of my head, who hate me without cause. My enemies are grown strong who have wrongfully persecuted me: then did I pay that which I took not away.

⁶ O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my offences are not hidden from thee:

⁷ Let not them be ashamed for me, who look for thee, O Lord, the Lord of hosts. Let them not be confounded on my account, who seek thee, O God of Israel.

² Blow them away as if they were smoke; melt them like beeswax in a fire. Let the wicked die in God's presence.

³ But those who are right with God are happy, and they celebrate in God's presence, full of joy.

⁴ Sing praises to God! Sing praises to his wonderful reputation! Praise the rider of the clouds—his name is the Lord! Be happy in his presence!

⁵ He is a father to the orphans, a protector of widows. This is who God is, who lives in his holy place.

⁶ God gives those who are abandoned a family to live with. He sets prisoners free with celebration. But those who rebel live in a desert wasteland.

⁷ God, when you led your people out, when you marched through the desert, Selah,

² As the smoke vanisheth, so shalt thou driue them away: and as waxe melteth before the fire, so shall the wicked perish at the presence of God.

³ But the righteous shalbe glad, and reioyce before God: yea, they shall leape for ioye.

⁴ Sing ye to God, say ye psalm to his name; make ye a way to him, that ascendeth or goeth up on the going down, the Lord is name of him. Make ye fully joy or Full out joyeth in his sight, his enemies shall be troubled from the face of him,

⁵ which is the father of fatherless and motherless children; and the judge of widows. God is in his holy place;

³ And just men eat, and make they fully joy in the sight of God; and delight they in gladness. (But the righteous be glad, and make full out joy, or rejoice, before God; yea, delight they, and be glad.)

⁴ Sing ye to God, say ye psalm to his name; make ye a way to him, that ascendeth on the going down, the Lord is name of him. Make ye fully joy in his sight, (his) enemies shall be troubled from the face of him, (Sing ye to God, sing ye a song to his name; make ye a way for him, who rideth over the plains of the desert or who rideth upon the clouds, yea, the Lord is his name. Make ye full out joy, or rejoice, before him, but his enemies shall be troubled before him,)

⁵ which is the father of fatherless and motherless children; and the judge of widows, (or who is the father of the fatherless and the motherless; and the judge of widows). God is in his holy place;

⁶ God that maketh men of one will to dwell in the house. Which leadeth out by strength them that be bound; in like manner them that make sharp, that dwell in sepulchres. (yea, God who helpeth people to come and live in a house with others. And who leadeth out those who be bound into freedom; but they who rebel shall live in a dry land.)

⁷ God, when thou wentest out in the sight of thy people; when thou passedest forth in the desert. (God, when thou wentest out before thy people; yea, when thou wentest forth in the wilderness,)

¹ To the Overseer. — A Psalm, a song of David. Rise doth God — scattered are His enemies! And those hating Him flee from His face.

² As the driving away of smoke Thou drivest away, As the melting of wax before fire, The wicked perish at the presence of God.

³ And the righteous rejoice, they exult before God, And they joy with gladness.
