² He only is my rock and my salvation: He is my high tower; I shall not be greatly moved.

³ How long will ye set upon a man, That ye may slay him, all of you, Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence?

⁴ They only consult to thrust him down from his dignity; They delight in lies; They bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah

⁵ My soul, wait thou in silence for God only; For my expectation is from him.

² O God, my God, I cry to thee early; my soul has thirsted for thee: how often has my flesh longed after thee, in a barren and trackless and dry land!

³ Thus have I appeared before thee in the sanctuary, that I might see thy power and thy glory.

⁴ For thy mercy is better than life: my lips shall praise thee.

⁵ Thus will I bless thee during my life: I will lift up my hands in thy name.

⁴ My enemies plan to remove me from my important position so that people no longer honor me. They delight in telling lies. They bless people by what they say MTY, but in their inner beings they curse those people.

⁵ God is the only one who gives me peace in my inner being; he is the one whom I confidently expect to help me.

² Thus have I appeared before you in the sanctuary, that I might see your power and your glory.

³ For your mercy is better than life: my lips shall praise you.

⁴ Thus will I bless you during my life: I will lift up my hands in your name.

³ How long will ye assail a man; will ye seek, all of you, to break him down as a bowing wall or a tottering fence?

⁴ They only consult to thrust him down from his excellency; they delight in lies; they bless with their mouth, but in their inward part they curse. Selah.

⁵ Upon God alone, O my soul, rest peacefully; for my expectation is from him.

² O God, my God, to thee do I watch at break of day. For thee my soul hath thirsted; for thee my flesh, O how many ways!

³ In a desert land, and where there is no way, and no water: so in the sanctuary have I come before thee, to see thy power and thy glory.

⁴ For thy mercy is better than lives: thee my lips shall praise.

⁵ Thus will I bless thee all my life long: and in thy name I will lift up my hands.

² He is the one who protects me and saves me; he keeps me safe so I will never be in danger.

³ How long are you going to attack me? All of you against one man! To you I'm just a broken wall, a collapsed fence.

⁴ They plan to throw me down from my high position; they love to tell lies. They say nice things to me, but inside they're cursing me. Selah.

⁵ Only in God do I find peace; my hope comes from him.

² Yet he is my strength and my saluation, and my defence: therefore I shall not much be mooued.

³ How long wil ye imagine mischiefe against a man? ye shalbe all slaine: ye shalbe as a bowed wall, or as a wall shaken.

⁴ Yet they consult to cast him downe from his dignitie: their delight is in lies, they blesse with their mouthes, but curse with their hearts. Selah.

⁵ Yet my soule keepe thou silence vnto God: for mine hope is in him.

⁵ My soul, rest thou on God alone, For from him cometh my hope!

² Yes, he is my rock, my help, my retreat, I shall not be shaken too sorely.

³ How long will you, all of you, batter a man, as one might a leaning wall?

⁴ From his height they are planning to topple him. They take pleasure in falsehood; they bless with their mouth, but inwardly they curse. Selah

⁵ I wait alone in silence for God; for from him comes my hope.

² Yes, he is my rock, my help, my retreat, I shall not be shaken too sorely.

⁵ Nevertheless, my soul, be thou subject to God; for my patience is of him.

² For why he is both my God, and mine health; mine up-taker, I shall no more be moved. (For he is both my God, and my deliverer; yea, my defender, and I shall not be shaken, or defeated.)

³ How long fall ye on a man? all ye slain; as to a wall bowed, and as a wall of stone without mortar cast down. (How long shall ye fall upon a man? ye shall all be killed; ye shall be like a wall bowed down, yea, like a stone wall without mortar thrown down.)

⁴ Nevertheless they thought to put away my price, I ran in thirst; with their mouth they blessed, and in their heart they cursed. (Nevertheless they thought to put him down from his place of honour, and they delighted in lies; they blessed with their mouths, but they cursed in their hearts.)

⁵ Nevertheless, my soul, be thou subject to God; for my patience is of him. (Nevertheless, my soul, be thou made subject under God; for my hope of deliverance is in him.)

² Only — He is my rock, and my salvation, My tower, I am not much moved.

³ Till when do ye devise mischief against a man? Ye are destroyed all of you, As a wall inclined, a hedge that is cast down.

⁴ Only — from his excellency They have consulted to drive away, They enjoy a lie, with their mouth they bless, And with their heart revile. Selah.
