Psalms 60:7-11 in English

⁷ Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the defence of my head; Judah is my sceptre.

⁸ Moab is my washpot; Upon Edom will I cast my shoe: Philistia, shout thou because of me.

⁹ Who will bring me into the strong city? Who hath led me unto Edom?

¹⁰ Hast not thou, O God, cast us off? And thou goest not forth, O God, with our hosts.

¹¹ Give us help against the adversary; For vain is the help of man.

⁷ Thou shalt add days to the days of the king; thou shalt lengthen his years to all generations.

⁸ He shall endure for ever before God: which of them will seek out his mercy and truth?

⁹ So will I sing to thy name for ever and ever, that I may daily perform my vows.

⁷ The Gilead region is mine; the people of the tribe of Manasseh are mine; the tribe of Ephraim is like my helmet MET; and the tribe of Judah is like the ◄scepter/stick that I hold which shows that I am the ruler► MET;

⁸ but the Moab region is like my washbasin MET; I throw my sandal in the Edom area to show that it belongs to me; I shout triumphantly because I have defeated the people of the Philistia area.”

⁹ Because I want to defeat the people of Edom, ◄who will lead my army triumphantly to their capital city that has strong walls around it?/I want someone to lead my army triumphantly to their capital city that has strong walls around it.►” RHQ

¹⁰ So, God, we desire/hope that RHQ you have not truly abandoned us, and that you will go with us when our armies march out to fight our enemies.

¹¹ We need you to help us when we fight against our enemies, because the help that humans can give us is worthless.

⁸ Moab is my wash-pot; upon Edom will I cast my sandal; Philistia, shout aloud because of me.

⁹ Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me unto Edom?

¹⁰ Wilt not thou, O God, who didst cast us off? and didst not go forth, O God, with our armies?

¹¹ Give us help from trouble; for vain is man's deliverance.

⁷ Thou wilt add days to the days of the king: his years even to generation and generation.

⁸ He abideth for ever in the sight of God: his mercy and truth who shall search?

⁹ So will I sing a psalm to thy name for ever and ever: that I may pay my vows from day to day.

⁷ Both Gilead and Manasseh belong to me. Ephraim is my helmet, and Judah is my scepter.

⁸ I will treat Moab as my washbasin; I will place my sandal on Edom; I will shout in triumph over Philistia.”

⁹ Who will bring me into the fortified city? Who will lead me into Edom?

¹⁰ Have you rejected us, God? Won't you lead our armies?

¹¹ Please give us help against our enemies, for human help is worthless.

⁷ Gilead shalbe mine, and Manasseh shalbe mine: Ephraim also shalbe the strength of mine head: Iudah is my lawgiuer.

⁸ Moab shalbe my wash pot: ouer Edom will I cast out my shoe: Palestina shew thy selfe ioyfull for me.

⁹ Who will leade me into the strong citie? who will bring me vnto Edom?

¹⁰ Wilt not thou, O God, which hadest cast vs off, and didest not go forth, O God, with our armies?

¹¹ Giue vs helpe against trouble: for vaine is the helpe of man.

⁹ (60-11) Who will bring me into the fortified city? Who will lead me unto Edom?

¹⁰ (60-12) Hast not Thou, O God, cast us off? And Thou goest not forth, O God, with our hosts.

¹¹ (60-13) Give us help against the adversary; for vain is the help of man.

⁸ (60:10) Moab is my washpot; upon Edom will I cast my shoe: Philistia, triumph thou but over me.

⁹ (60:11) Who will bring me into the fortified city? who will lead me as far as Edom?

¹⁰ (60:12) Behold, it is thou, O God, who hast cast us off; and thou, O God, goest not forth with our armies.

¹¹ (60:13) Give us help against the assailant; for vain is the help of man.

⁸ Moab shall be my wash-bowl; Upon Edom shall I cast my shoe; I shall triumph over Philistia!

⁹ Who will bring me to the strong city? Who will lead me into Edom?

¹⁰ Wilt not thou, O God! who didst forsake us, And didst not go forth with our armies?

¹¹ Give us thine aid in our distress, For vain is the help of man!

⁷ Mine is Gilead, mine is Manasseh, Ephraim is the defence of my head, Judah my sceptre of rule,

⁸ Moab the pot that I wash in, Edom — I cast my shoe over it, I shout o'er Philistia in triumph.”

⁹ O to be brought to the fortified city! O to be led into Edom!

¹⁰ Have you not spurned us, O God? You do not march forth with our armies.

¹¹ Grant us help from the foe, for human help is worthless.

⁷ Mine is Gilead, mine is Manasseh, Ephraim is the defence of my head, Judah my sceptre of rule,

⁸ Moab the pot that I wash in, Edom — I cast my shoe over it, I shout o'er Philistia in triumph.”

⁹ O to be brought to the fortified city! O to be led into Edom!

¹⁰ Have you not spurned us, O God? You do not march forth with our armies.

¹¹ Grant us help from the foe, for human help is worthless.

⁷ Gilead is mine, and Manasseh Causing to forget is mine. Ephraim Fruit also is the defense of my head. Judah Praised is my scepter.

⁸ Moab From father is my wash basin. I will throw my shoe on Edom Red. I shout in triumph over Philistia.”

⁹ Who will bring me into the strong city? Who has led me to Edom Red?

¹⁰ Haven’t you, God, rejected us? You don’t go out with our armies, God.

¹¹ Give us help against the adversary, for the help of man is vain.

⁹ Who shall lead me into a city made strong; who shall lead me into Idumea?

¹⁰ Whether not thou, God, that hast put away us; and shalt thou not, God, go out in our virtues?

¹¹ Lord, give thou to us help out of tribulation; for the help of man is vain.

⁷ Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; and Ephraim is the strength of mine head. Judah is my king; (Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is my helmet, and Judah is my sceptre.)

⁸ Moab is the pot of mine hope. Into Idumea I shall stretch forth my shoe; aliens be made subject to me. (But Moab is my washbowl. And I shall throw my shoes at Edom; and Philistia shall be made subject to me.)

⁹ Who shall lead me into a city made strong; who shall lead me into Idumea? (Who shall lead me into the strengthened, or the fortified, city? who shall lead me unto Edom?)

¹⁰ Whether not thou, God, that hast put away us; and shalt thou not, God, go out in our virtues? (Shalt not thou, O God, even though thou hast cast us off, or rejected us? or shalt not thou, O God, go out with our hosts, or our armies, any more?)

¹¹ Lord, give thou to us help (out) of tribulation; for the help of man is vain. (Lord, give thou us help in the time of trouble; for the help of man is worthless, yea, but an empty hope.)

⁷ Mine is Gilead, and mine is Manasseh, And Ephraim is the strength of my head, Judah is my lawgiver,

⁸ Moab is my pot for washing, over Edom I cast my shoe, Shout, concerning me, O Philistia.

⁹ Who doth bring me to a city of bulwarks? Who hath led me unto Edom?

¹⁰ Is it not Thou, O God? hast Thou cast us off? And dost Thou not go forth, O God, with our hosts!

¹¹ Give to us help from adversity, And vain is the deliverance of man.
