⁹ Because of his strength I will give heed unto thee; For God is my high tower.

¹⁰ My God with his lovingkindness will meet me: God will let me see my desire upon mine enemies.

¹¹ Slay them not, lest my people forget: Scatter them by thy power, and bring them down, O Lord our shield.

¹² For the sin of their mouth, and the words of their lips, Let them even be taken in their pride, And for cursing and lying which they speak.

¹³ Consume them in wrath, consume them, so that they shall be no more: And let them know that God ruleth in Jacob, Unto the ends of the earth. Selah

¹⁴ And at evening let them return, let them howl like a dog, And go round about the city.

¹⁵ They shall wander up and down for food, And tarry all night if they be not satisfied.

¹⁶ But I will sing of thy strength; Yea, I will sing aloud of thy lovingkindness in the morning: For thou hast been my high tower, And a refuge in the day of my distress.

⁹ Galaad is mine, and Manasse is mine; and Ephraim is the strength of my head;

¹⁰ Judas is my king; Moab is the caldron of my hope; over Idumea will I stretch out my shoe; the Philistines have been subjected to me.

¹¹ Who will lead me into the fortified city? who will guide me as far as Idumea?

¹² Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off? and wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our forces?

¹³ Give us help from trouble: for vain is the deliverance of man.

¹⁴ In God will we do valiantly; and he shall bring to nought them that harass us.

⁹ Because of his strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defence.

⁹ God, I have confidence in you because you are very strong; you are my refuge.

¹⁰ Because you love me, you will come to save me; you will allow me to watch while you defeat my enemies.

¹¹ But do not kill them immediately in order that my people will not forget how you punished them! Instead, Lord, you who are like a shield that protects us MET, scatter them by your power, and then defeat them.

¹² Because what they say MTY is sinful, allow them to be trapped for being proud. Because they are always cursing and telling lies,

¹³ because you are angry, get rid of them; destroy them completely in order that people will know that you rule over us, your Israeli people, and that you rule over all the earth.

¹⁴ My enemies return each evening, snarling like vicious dogs as they prowl around this city.

¹⁵ They roam around, searching for food; and if they do not find enough, they growl.

¹⁶ But as for me, I will sing about your power; every morning I will sing joyfully about your faithfully loving us. I will sing about how you protected me when I was very distressed.

⁹ Who will lead me into the fortified city? who will guide me as far a Idumea?

¹⁰ Will not you, O God, who have cast us off? and will not you, O God, go forth with our forces?

¹¹ Put them not to death, for so my people will keep the memory of them: let them be sent in all directions by your power; make them low, O Lord our saviour.

¹² Because of the sin of their mouths and the word of their lips, let them even be taken in their pride; and for their curses and their deceit,

¹³ Put an end to them in your wrath, put an end to them, so that they may not be seen again; let them see that God is ruling in Jacob and to the ends of the earth. (Selah.)

¹⁴ And in the evening let them come back, and make a noise like a dog, and go round the town.

¹⁵ Let them go wandering up and down in search of food, and be there all night if they have not enough.

¹⁶ But I will make songs of your power; yes, I will give cries of joy for your mercy in the morning; because you have been my strength and my high tower in the day of my trouble.

⁹ Their strength! ...I will take heed to thee; for God is my high fortress.

¹⁰ God, whose loving-kindness will come to meet me, — God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies.

¹³ Give us help from trouble: for vain is the salvation of man.

¹⁴ Through God we shall do mightily: and he shall bring to nothing them that afflict us.

⁹ You are my strength! I will look to you, God, for you are the one who protects me.

¹⁰ In his trustworthy love, God will come and save me. He will show me how my enemies are defeated.

¹¹ Don't kill them right away, otherwise my people will quickly forget what you have done. By your power make them stagger around and then fall down, Lord our protection.

¹² Let them be caught out by the evil things they say, the words they proudly speak—brought down by their curses and the lies they tell!

¹³ Destroy them in your anger! Destroy them completely! Then everyone will know that God rules in Israel!

¹⁴ In the evening they return, snarling like dogs as they roam around the city.

¹⁵ They wander around, looking for things to eat, and howl when they're not satisfied.

¹⁶ But I will sing of your strength; in the morning I will sing for joy about your trustworthy love. For you have been my protection; my place of safety in my time of trouble.

⁹ He is strong: but I will waite vpon thee: for God is my defence.

¹⁰ My mercifull God will preuent me: God wil let me see my desire vpon mine enemies.

¹¹ Slay them not, least my people forget it: but scatter them abroad by thy power, and put them downe, O Lord our shield,

¹² For the sinne of their mouth, and the words of their lips: and let them be taken in their pride, euen for their periurie and lies, that they speake.

¹³ Consume them in thy wrath: consume them that they be no more: and let them knowe that God ruleth in Iaakob, euen vnto the ends of the world. Selah.

¹⁴ And in the euening they shall go to and from, and barke like dogs, and go about the citie.

¹⁵ They shall runne here and there for meate: and surely they shall not be satisfied, though they tary all night.

¹⁶ But I wil sing of thy power, and will prayse thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast bene my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.

¹² (59:13) The sin of their mouth is the word of their lips: let them be caught through their pride, because of the cursing and lying which they relate.

¹³ (59:14) Make an end in fury, make an end of them, that they my be no more, and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob, as far as the ends of the earth. Selah.

¹⁴ (59:15) And they will return in the evening; they will howl like dogs, and go round about the city.

¹⁵ (59:16) They will indeed roam about after something to eat, if they be not satisfied, so that they can be at rest.

¹⁶ (59:17) But I will truly sing of thy strength; yea, I will sing joyfully in the morning of thy kindness; for thou hast been a defence unto me and a refuge on the day when I was distressed.

⁹ Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; And Ephraim is the strength of my head;

¹⁰ My God with his love will meet me, and feast my eyes on my foes.

¹¹ Slay them not, lest my people forget, let your hosts keep them roaming and wandering.

¹² In their sinful speech snare them, O Lord; and may they be trapped in their pride, for the curses and lies that they utter.

¹³ In your wrath make a clean end of them, that people, to the ends of the earth, may know that God rules in Jacob. Selah

¹² Put down the trespass of their mouth, and the word of their lips; and be they taken in their pride. And of cursing and of leasing; they shall be showed in the ending.

¹³ In the ire of ending, and they shall not be; and they shall know, that the Lord shall be Lord of Jacob, and of the ends of earth.

¹⁴ They shall be turned at eventide, and they as dogs shall suffer hunger; and they shall compass, that is, go abegging in, the city.

¹⁵ They shall be scattered abroad, for to eat; soothly if they be not ful filled, and they shall grutch.

¹⁶ But I shall sing of thy strength; and early I shall enhance thy mercy. For thou art made mine up-taker; and my refuge, in the day of my tribulation.

⁹ I shall keep my strength to thee; for God is mine up-taker, (O my strength, I shall turn to thee; for God is my defender,)

¹⁰ my God, his mercy shall come before me. God showed to me (my desire) on mine enemies, (my God, his love shall come to me. God shall show me my heart’s desire for all my enemies.)

¹¹ slay thou not them; lest any time my peoples forget. Scatter thou them in thy virtue; and, Lord, my defender, put thou them down. (But kill thou them not; lest any time my people forget. Rather, scatter thou them by thy strength; and, O Lord, my defender, put thou them down.)

¹² Put down the trespass of their mouth, and the word of their lips; and be they taken in their pride. And of cursing and of leasing; they shall be showed (up) in the ending. (And for the trespasses of their mouths, and the words of their lips; let them be taken in their pride. And for their cursing and their lies; let them be shown up in the end.)

¹³ (Destroy thou them) In the ire of ending, and they shall not be; and they shall know, that the Lord shall be Lord of Jacob, and of the ends of earth. (Destroy thou them in thy anger, yea, destroy them altogether, and they shall be no more; and then they shall know, that the Lord is the lord, or the ruler, in Jacob, and unto the ends of the earth.)

¹⁴ They shall be turned (again) at eventide, and they as dogs shall suffer hunger; and they shall compass, that is, go abegging, (in) the city. (They shall return in the evening, and they shall suffer hunger like dogs; and they shall go about begging in the city.)

¹⁵ They shall be scattered abroad, for to eat; soothly if they be not ful filled, and they shall grutch. (They shall be scattered abroad, searching for food; and truly they shall grumble, if they be not satisfied, or fulfilled.)

¹⁶ But I shall sing (of) thy strength; and early I shall enhance thy mercy. For thou art made mine up-taker; and my refuge, in the day of my tribulation. (But I shall sing of thy strength; and in the morning I shall sing of thy love. For thou art my defender; and my refuge, in the days of my trouble.)

⁹ O my Strength, unto Thee I take heed, For God is my tower — the God of my kindness.

¹⁰ God doth go before me, He causeth me to look on mine enemies.

¹¹ Slay them not, lest my people forget, Shake them by Thy strength, And bring them down, O Lord our shield.

¹² The sin of their mouth is a word of their lips, And they are captured in their pride, And from the curse and lying they recount.

¹³ Consume in fury, consume and they are not, And they know that God is ruling in Jacob, To the ends of the earth. Selah.

¹⁴ And they turn back at evening, They make a noise like a dog, And they go round about the city.

¹⁵ They — they wander for food, If they are not satisfied — then they murmur.

¹⁶ And I — I sing of Thy strength, And I sing at morn of Thy kindness, For thou hast been a tower to me, And a refuge for me in a day of adversity.
