⁵ Even thou, O Jehovah God of hosts, the God of Israel, Arise to visit all the nations: Be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah

⁶ They return at evening, they howl like a dog, And go round about the city.

⁷ Behold, they belch out with their mouth; Swords are in their lips: For who, say they, doth hear?

⁸ But thou, O Jehovah, wilt laugh at them; Thou wilt have all the nations in derision.

⁵ Thou hast shewn thy people hard things: thou hast made us drink the wine of astonishment.

⁶ Thou hast given a token to them that fear thee, that they might flee from the bow. Pause.

⁷ That thy beloved ones may be delivered; save with thy right hand, and hear me.

⁸ God has spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, and divide Sicima, and measure out the valley of tents.

⁶ They return each evening, snarling like vicious dogs SIM as they prowl around this city.

⁷ They loudly say terrible things; they say MTY many things that injure people like MET swords do, but they think, “No one will RHQ hear us!”

⁸ But Yahweh, you laugh at them. You ◄scoff at/ridicule► the people of the pagan nations.

⁵ That your beloved ones may be delivered; save with your right hand, and hear me.

⁸ But you are laughing at them, O Lord; you will make sport of all the nations.

⁵ Yea, do thou, Jehovah, the God of hosts, the God of Israel, arise to visit all the nations: be not gracious to any plotters of iniquity. Selah.

⁷ Behold, they belch out with their mouth; swords are in their lips: for who say they doth hear?

⁸ But thou, Jehovah, wilt laugh at them; thou wilt have all the nations in derision.

⁶ Thou hast given a warning to them that fear thee: that they may flee from before the bow: That thy beloved may be delivered.

⁷ Save me with thy right hand, and hear me.

⁸ God hath spoken in his holy place: I will rejoice, and I will divide Sichem; and will mete out the vale of tabernacles.

⁵ You are God, the Lord Almighty, God of Israel. Stand up, and punish all the nations. Don't have any mercy on these evil traitors. Selah.

⁶ In the evening they return, snarling like dogs as they roam around the city.

⁷ See what evil talk comes pouring out of their mouths! Words sharp as swords, for they say to themselves, “Who can hear us?”

⁸ But you, Lord, you laugh at them; you pour scorn on all the nations.

⁵ Euen thou, O Lord God of hostes, O God of Israel awake to visit all the heathen, and be not merciful vnto all that transgresse maliciously. Selah.

⁶ They goe to and from in the euening: they barke like dogs, and goe about the citie.

⁷ Behold, they brag in their talke, and swords are in their lips: for, Who, say they, doeth heare?

⁸ But thou, O Lord, shalt haue them in derision, and thou shalt laugh at all the heathen.

⁸ Yet thou, O LORD! wilt laugh at them; Thou wilt hold all the nations in derision!

⁵ You, O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, awake! And punish the proud, every one; spare none of the traitors vile. Selah

⁶ They shall be turned at eventide, and they as dogs shall suffer hunger; and they shall compass, that is, go abegging in, the city.

⁷ Lo! they shall speak in their mouth, and a sword in their lips; for who heard?

⁸ And thou, Lord, shalt scorn them; thou shalt bring all folks to nought.

⁵ and thou, Lord God of virtues, art God of Israel. Give thou attention to visit all folks; do thou not mercy to all that work wickedness. (for thou, Lord God of hosts, art the God of Israel. Give thou attention to punishing all the nations; do not thou give mercy to any who do evil.)

⁶ They shall be turned (again) at eventide, and they as dogs shall suffer hunger; and they shall compass, that is, go abegging, (in) the city. (They shall return in the evening, and they shall suffer hunger like dogs; and they shall go about begging in the city.)

⁷ Lo! they shall speak in their mouth, and a sword in their lips; for who heard? (Behold! they shall speak out insults with their mouths, and their lips, (or their tongues), shall be like swords; for they say, Who shall hear us?)

⁸ And thou, Lord, shalt scorn them; thou shalt bring all folks to nought. (But thou, Lord, shalt scorn them; thou shalt bring down all these nations to nothing.)

⁵ And Thou, Jehovah, God of Hosts, God of Israel, Awake to inspect all the nations. Favour not any treacherous dealers of iniquity. Selah.
