³ For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul; The mighty gather themselves together against me: Not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Jehovah.

⁴ They run and prepare themselves without my fault: Awake thou to help me, and behold.

⁵ Even thou, O Jehovah God of hosts, the God of Israel, Arise to visit all the nations: Be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah

⁶ They return at evening, they howl like a dog, And go round about the city.

⁷ Behold, they belch out with their mouth; Swords are in their lips: For who, say they, doth hear?

⁸ But thou, O Jehovah, wilt laugh at them; Thou wilt have all the nations in derision.

⁹ Because of his strength I will give heed unto thee; For God is my high tower.

³ O God, thou hast rejected and destroyed us; thou hast been angry, yet hast pitied us.

⁴ Thou hast shaken the earth, and troubled it; heal its breaches, for it has been shaken.

⁵ Thou hast shewn thy people hard things: thou hast made us drink the wine of astonishment.

⁶ Thou hast given a token to them that fear thee, that they might flee from the bow. Pause.

⁷ That thy beloved ones may be delivered; save with thy right hand, and hear me.

⁸ God has spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, and divide Sicima, and measure out the valley of tents.

⁹ Galaad is mine, and Manasse is mine; and Ephraim is the strength of my head;

³ Look! They are waiting to kill me! Fierce men have gathered to assault me. Yahweh, they are doing that even though I have not done what is wrong!

⁴ It is not because I have committed any sin against them that they run and get ready to attack me.

⁵ Yahweh my God, commander of the armies of heaven, the one we Israelis worship, arise and punish the ungodly/heathen people of all the nations; do not be merciful to those wicked people who have ◄acted treacherously toward/secretly planned to harm► us.

⁶ They return each evening, snarling like vicious dogs SIM as they prowl around this city.

⁷ They loudly say terrible things; they say MTY many things that injure people like MET swords do, but they think, “No one will RHQ hear us!”

⁸ But Yahweh, you laugh at them. You ◄scoff at/ridicule► the people of the pagan nations.

⁹ God, I have confidence in you because you are very strong; you are my refuge.

³ You have shown your people hard things: you have made us drink the wine of astonishment.

⁴ You have given a token to them that fear you, that they might flee from the bow. Pause.

³ For see, they are watching in secret for my soul; the strong have come together against me? but not because of my sin, or my evil-doing, O Lord.

⁴ For no sin of mine they go quickly and get themselves ready; be awake and come to my help, and see.

⁵ You, O Lord God of armies, are the God of Israel; come now and give punishment to the nations; have no mercy on any workers of deceit. (Selah.)

⁶ They come back in the evening; they make a noise like a dog, and go round the town.

⁷ See, hate is dropping from their lips; curses are on their tongues: they say, Who gives attention to it?

⁸ But you are laughing at them, O Lord; you will make sport of all the nations.

⁹ O my strength, I will put my hope in you; because God is my strong tower.

³ For behold, they lie in wait for my soul; strong ones are gathered against me: not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Jehovah.

⁴ They run and prepare themselves without my fault: awake to meet me, and behold.

⁵ Yea, do thou, Jehovah, the God of hosts, the God of Israel, arise to visit all the nations: be not gracious to any plotters of iniquity. Selah.

⁶ They return in the evening; they howl like a dog, and go round about the city:

⁷ Behold, they belch out with their mouth; swords are in their lips: for who say they doth hear?

⁸ But thou, Jehovah, wilt laugh at them; thou wilt have all the nations in derision.

⁹ Their strength! ...I will take heed to thee; for God is my high fortress.

³ O God, thou hast cast us off, and hast destroyed us; thou hast been angry, and hast had mercy on us.

⁴ Thou hast moved the earth, and hast troubled it: heal thou the breaches thereof, for it has been moved.

⁵ Thou hast shewn thy people hard things; thou hast made us drink wine of sorrow.

⁶ Thou hast given a warning to them that fear thee: that they may flee from before the bow: That thy beloved may be delivered.

⁷ Save me with thy right hand, and hear me.

⁸ God hath spoken in his holy place: I will rejoice, and I will divide Sichem; and will mete out the vale of tabernacles.

⁹ Galaad is mine, and Manasses is mine: and Ephraim is the strength of my head. Juda is my king:

³ See how they're lying in wait to kill me! Powerful men are gathered against me, Lord, even though I have not sinned or done anything wrong.

⁴ Even though I'm not guilty they hurry to prepare an attack on me. Please stand up, come and help me, and see what's going on.

⁵ You are God, the Lord Almighty, God of Israel. Stand up, and punish all the nations. Don't have any mercy on these evil traitors. Selah.

⁶ In the evening they return, snarling like dogs as they roam around the city.

⁷ See what evil talk comes pouring out of their mouths! Words sharp as swords, for they say to themselves, “Who can hear us?”

⁸ But you, Lord, you laugh at them; you pour scorn on all the nations.

⁹ You are my strength! I will look to you, God, for you are the one who protects me.

³ For loe, they haue layd waite for my soule: the mightie men are gathered against me, not for mine offence, nor for my sinne, O Lord.

⁴ They runne and prepare themselues without a fault on my part: arise therefore to assist me, and beholde.

⁵ Euen thou, O Lord God of hostes, O God of Israel awake to visit all the heathen, and be not merciful vnto all that transgresse maliciously. Selah.

⁷ Behold, they brag in their talke, and swords are in their lips: for, Who, say they, doeth heare?

⁸ But thou, O Lord, shalt haue them in derision, and thou shalt laugh at all the heathen.

⁹ He is strong: but I will waite vpon thee: for God is my defence.

³ (59-4) For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul; the impudent gather themselves together against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O LORD.

⁴ (59-5) Without my fault, they run and prepare themselves; awake Thou to help me, and behold.

⁵ (59-6) Thou therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, arouse Thyself to punish all the nations; show no mercy to any iniquitous traitors. Selah

⁷ (59:8) Behold, they sputter with their mouth: swords are in their lips; for who, say they, doth hear?

⁸ (59:9) But thou, O Lord, wilt laugh at theme: thou wilt hold in derision all the nations.

⁹ (59:10) Because of the enemy's strength will I wait upon thee; for God is my defence.

⁴ Without any offence of mine, they run and prepare themselves; Awake to help me, and behold!

⁵ Do thou, O Jehovah, God of hosts, God of Israel, Awake to punish all the nations! Show no mercy to any wicked transgressors! Pause.

⁶ Let them return at evening, Let them howl like dogs, And go round about the city!

⁷ Behold! with their mouths they belch out malice; Swords are upon their lips; “For who,” say they, “will hear?”

⁸ Yet thou, O LORD! wilt laugh at them; Thou wilt hold all the nations in derision!

⁹ O my Strength! to thee will I look! For God is my defence;

³ For see! They lay ambush for me, strong men are banded against me not for sin or transgression of mine, for no guilt of mine, O Lord,

⁴ they run and make ready. Awake! Come forth to meet me, and see!

⁵ You, O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, awake! And punish the proud, every one; spare none of the traitors vile. Selah

³ For, see, they wait in ambush to take my life. The powerful men gather themselves together against me, but not because of my transgression or my sin, Yahweh.

⁴ They prepare to run at me although I am without fault; awake and help me and see.

⁵ You, Yahweh God of hosts, the God of Israel, arise and punish all the nations; do not be merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah

⁵ and thou, Lord God of virtues, art God of Israel. Give thou attention to visit all folks; do thou not mercy to all that work wickedness.

⁶ They shall be turned at eventide, and they as dogs shall suffer hunger; and they shall compass, that is, go abegging in, the city.

⁷ Lo! they shall speak in their mouth, and a sword in their lips; for who heard?

⁸ And thou, Lord, shalt scorn them; thou shalt bring all folks to nought.

⁹ I shall keep my strength to thee; for God is mine up-taker,

³ For lo! they have taken my soul; strong men fell in on me. Neither (for) my wickedness, neither (for) my sin; (For behold! they lie in wait for me; strong men have fallen in on me. But not because of my wickedness, nor for my sin.)

⁴ Lord, I ran without wickedness, and (ad)dressed my works. Rise up into my meeting, and see; (Lord, though I am innocent, they run into position against me. Rise up to help me, and see;)

⁵ and thou, Lord God of virtues, art God of Israel. Give thou attention to visit all folks; do thou not mercy to all that work wickedness. (for thou, Lord God of hosts, art the God of Israel. Give thou attention to punishing all the nations; do not thou give mercy to any who do evil.)

⁶ They shall be turned (again) at eventide, and they as dogs shall suffer hunger; and they shall compass, that is, go abegging, (in) the city. (They shall return in the evening, and they shall suffer hunger like dogs; and they shall go about begging in the city.)

⁷ Lo! they shall speak in their mouth, and a sword in their lips; for who heard? (Behold! they shall speak out insults with their mouths, and their lips, (or their tongues), shall be like swords; for they say, Who shall hear us?)

⁸ And thou, Lord, shalt scorn them; thou shalt bring all folks to nought. (But thou, Lord, shalt scorn them; thou shalt bring down all these nations to nothing.)

⁹ I shall keep my strength to thee; for God is mine up-taker, (O my strength, I shall turn to thee; for God is my defender,)

³ For, lo, they laid wait for my soul, Assembled against me are strong ones, Not my transgression nor my sin, O Jehovah.

⁴ Without punishment they run and prepare themselves, Stir up to meet me, and see.

⁵ And Thou, Jehovah, God of Hosts, God of Israel, Awake to inspect all the nations. Favour not any treacherous dealers of iniquity. Selah.

⁶ They turn back at evening, They make a noise like a dog, And go round about the city.

⁷ Lo, they belch out with their mouths, Swords are in their lips, for 'Who heareth?'

⁸ And Thou, O Jehovah dost laugh at them, Thou dost mock at all the nations.

⁹ O my Strength, unto Thee I take heed, For God is my tower — the God of my kindness.
