¹³ Consume them in wrath, consume them, so that they shall be no more: And let them know that God ruleth in Jacob, Unto the ends of the earth. Selah

¹⁴ And at evening let them return, let them howl like a dog, And go round about the city.

¹⁵ They shall wander up and down for food, And tarry all night if they be not satisfied.

¹⁶ But I will sing of thy strength; Yea, I will sing aloud of thy lovingkindness in the morning: For thou hast been my high tower, And a refuge in the day of my distress.

¹⁷ Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing praises: For God is my high tower, the God of my mercy.

¹³ Give us help from trouble: for vain is the deliverance of man.

¹⁴ In God will we do valiantly; and he shall bring to nought them that harass us.

¹³ Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah.

¹⁴ And at evening let them return; and let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.

¹⁵ Let them wander up and down for meat, and grudge if they be not satisfied.

¹³ because you are angry, get rid of them; destroy them completely in order that people will know that you rule over us, your Israeli people, and that you rule over all the earth.

¹⁴ My enemies return each evening, snarling like vicious dogs as they prowl around this city.

¹⁵ They roam around, searching for food; and if they do not find enough, they growl.

¹⁶ But as for me, I will sing about your power; every morning I will sing joyfully about your faithfully loving us. I will sing about how you protected me when I was very distressed.

¹⁷ God, you are the one who enables me to be strong; you are my refuge; you faithfully love me.

¹³ Consume them in wrath. Consume them, and they will be no more. Let them know that God rules in Jacob, to the ends of the earth. Selah.

¹³ Make an end in wrath, make an end, that they may be no more; that they may know that God ruleth in Jacob, unto the ends of the earth. Selah.

¹⁷ Unto thee, my strength, will I sing psalms; for God is my high fortress, the God of my mercy.

¹³ Give us help from trouble: for vain is the salvation of man.

¹⁴ Through God we shall do mightily: and he shall bring to nothing them that afflict us.

¹³ Destroy them in your anger! Destroy them completely! Then everyone will know that God rules in Israel!

¹⁴ In the evening they return, snarling like dogs as they roam around the city.

¹⁵ They wander around, looking for things to eat, and howl when they're not satisfied.

¹⁶ But I will sing of your strength; in the morning I will sing for joy about your trustworthy love. For you have been my protection; my place of safety in my time of trouble.

¹⁷ You are my strength, I sing praises to you, for you are the one who protects me—the God who shows me his trustworthy love!

¹³ Consume them in thy wrath: consume them that they be no more: and let them knowe that God ruleth in Iaakob, euen vnto the ends of the world. Selah.

¹⁴ And in the euening they shall go to and from, and barke like dogs, and go about the citie.

¹⁵ They shall runne here and there for meate: and surely they shall not be satisfied, though they tary all night.

¹⁶ But I wil sing of thy power, and will prayse thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast bene my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.

¹⁷ Vnto thee, O my Strength, wil I sing: for God is my defence, and my mercifull God.

¹⁴ (59-15) And they return at evening, they howl like a dog, and go round about the city;

¹⁵ (59-16) They wander up and down to devour, and tarry all night if they have not their fill.

¹⁶ (59-17) But as for me, I will sing of Thy strength; yea, I will sing aloud of Thy mercy in the morning; for Thou hast been my high tower, and a refuge in the day of my distress.

¹⁷ (59-18) O my strength, unto Thee will I sing praises; for God is my high tower, the God of my mercy.

¹³ (59:14) Make an end in fury, make an end of them, that they my be no more, and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob, as far as the ends of the earth. Selah.

¹⁴ (59:15) And they will return in the evening; they will howl like dogs, and go round about the city.

¹⁵ (59:16) They will indeed roam about after something to eat, if they be not satisfied, so that they can be at rest.

¹⁶ (59:17) But I will truly sing of thy strength; yea, I will sing joyfully in the morning of thy kindness; for thou hast been a defence unto me and a refuge on the day when I was distressed.

¹⁷ (59:18) Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing; for God is my defence, the God of my kindness.

¹³ Give us help from trouble: For vain is the deliverance of man.

¹⁴ In God will we do valiantly; And he shall bring to nought them that harass us.

¹⁷ To thee, O my Strength! will I sing! For God is my defence; a God of mercy to me.

¹³ In your wrath make a clean end of them, that people, to the ends of the earth, may know that God rules in Jacob. Selah

¹⁴ At evening they come, and, howling like dogs, make their round in the city.

¹⁵ They roam about for a feast, and snarl, if they get not their fill.

¹⁶ But I will sing of your might; I will ring out your love in the morning. For to me you have been a sure refuge, a retreat in the day of my trouble.

¹⁷ My strength, I will sing praise to you, for God is my sure retreat, my faithful God.

¹³ In your wrath make a clean end of them, that people, to the ends of the earth, may know that God rules in Jacob. Selah

¹⁵ They wander about looking for food and they growl like a dog if they are not satisfied.

¹⁶ But I will sing about your strength, and in the morning I will sing about your steadfast love! For you have been my high tower and a refuge in the day of my distress.

¹⁷ To you, my strength, I will sing praises; for God is my high tower, the God of covenant faithfulness.

¹³ Consume them in wrath. Consume them, and they will be no more. Let them know that God rules in Jacob, to the ends of the earth. Selah.

¹⁴ They shall be turned at eventide, and they as dogs shall suffer hunger; and they shall compass, that is, go abegging in, the city.

¹⁵ They shall be scattered abroad, for to eat; soothly if they be not ful filled, and they shall grutch.

¹⁶ But I shall sing of thy strength; and early I shall enhance thy mercy. For thou art made mine up-taker; and my refuge, in the day of my tribulation.

¹⁷ Mine helper, I shall sing to thee; for thou art God, mine up-taker, my God, my mercy.

¹³ (Destroy thou them) In the ire of ending, and they shall not be; and they shall know, that the Lord shall be Lord of Jacob, and of the ends of earth. (Destroy thou them in thy anger, yea, destroy them altogether, and they shall be no more; and then they shall know, that the Lord is the lord, or the ruler, in Jacob, and unto the ends of the earth.)

¹⁴ They shall be turned (again) at eventide, and they as dogs shall suffer hunger; and they shall compass, that is, go abegging, (in) the city. (They shall return in the evening, and they shall suffer hunger like dogs; and they shall go about begging in the city.)

¹⁵ They shall be scattered abroad, for to eat; soothly if they be not ful filled, and they shall grutch. (They shall be scattered abroad, searching for food; and truly they shall grumble, if they be not satisfied, or fulfilled.)

¹⁶ But I shall sing (of) thy strength; and early I shall enhance thy mercy. For thou art made mine up-taker; and my refuge, in the day of my tribulation. (But I shall sing of thy strength; and in the morning I shall sing of thy love. For thou art my defender; and my refuge, in the days of my trouble.)

¹⁷ Mine helper, I shall sing to thee; for thou art God, mine up-taker, my God, my mercy. (My helper, I shall sing to thee; for thou art God, my defender, the God who loveth me.)

¹³ Consume in fury, consume and they are not, And they know that God is ruling in Jacob, To the ends of the earth. Selah.

¹⁴ And they turn back at evening, They make a noise like a dog, And they go round about the city.

¹⁵ They — they wander for food, If they are not satisfied — then they murmur.

¹⁶ And I — I sing of Thy strength, And I sing at morn of Thy kindness, For thou hast been a tower to me, And a refuge for me in a day of adversity.

¹⁷ O my Strength, unto Thee I sing praise, For God is my tower, the God of my kindness!
