² Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, And save me from the bloodthirsty men.

³ For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul; The mighty gather themselves together against me: Not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Jehovah.

⁴ They run and prepare themselves without my fault: Awake thou to help me, and behold.

⁵ Even thou, O Jehovah God of hosts, the God of Israel, Arise to visit all the nations: Be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah

² when he had burned Mesopotamia of Syria, and Syria Sobal, and Joab had returned and smitten in the valley of salt twelve thousand.

³ O God, thou hast rejected and destroyed us; thou hast been angry, yet hast pitied us.

⁴ Thou hast shaken the earth, and troubled it; heal its breaches, for it has been shaken.

⁵ Thou hast shewn thy people hard things: thou hast made us drink the wine of astonishment.

⁶ Thou hast given a token to them that fear thee, that they might flee from the bow. Pause.

⁴ It is not because I have committed any sin against them that they run and get ready to attack me.

⁵ Yahweh my God, commander of the armies of heaven, the one we Israelis worship, arise and punish the ungodly/heathen people of all the nations; do not be merciful to those wicked people who have ◄acted treacherously toward/secretly planned to harm► us.

⁶ They return each evening, snarling like vicious dogs SIM as they prowl around this city.

⁴ For no sin of mine they go quickly and get themselves ready; be awake and come to my help, and see.

⁵ You, O Lord God of armies, are the God of Israel; come now and give punishment to the nations; have no mercy on any workers of deceit. (Selah.)

⁵ Yea, do thou, Jehovah, the God of hosts, the God of Israel, arise to visit all the nations: be not gracious to any plotters of iniquity. Selah.

² When he set fire to Mesopotamia of Syria and Sobal and Joab returned and slew of Edom, in the vale of the saltpits, twelve thousand men.

³ O God, thou hast cast us off, and hast destroyed us; thou hast been angry, and hast had mercy on us.

⁴ Thou hast moved the earth, and hast troubled it: heal thou the breaches thereof, for it has been moved.

⁵ Thou hast shewn thy people hard things; thou hast made us drink wine of sorrow.

⁶ Thou hast given a warning to them that fear thee: that they may flee from before the bow: That thy beloved may be delivered.

² Rescue me from these evil people! Save me from these murderers!

³ See how they're lying in wait to kill me! Powerful men are gathered against me, Lord, even though I have not sinned or done anything wrong.

⁴ Even though I'm not guilty they hurry to prepare an attack on me. Please stand up, come and help me, and see what's going on.

⁵ You are God, the Lord Almighty, God of Israel. Stand up, and punish all the nations. Don't have any mercy on these evil traitors. Selah.

³ For lo! they have taken my soul; strong men fell in on me. Neither for my wickedness, neither for my sin;

⁴ Lord, I ran without wickedness, and dressed my works. Rise up into my meeting, and see;

⁵ and thou, Lord God of virtues, art God of Israel. Give thou attention to visit all folks; do thou not mercy to all that work wickedness.

⁶ They shall be turned at eventide, and they as dogs shall suffer hunger; and they shall compass, that is, go abegging in, the city.

³ For lo! they have taken my soul; strong men fell in on me. Neither (for) my wickedness, neither (for) my sin; (For behold! they lie in wait for me; strong men have fallen in on me. But not because of my wickedness, nor for my sin.)

⁴ Lord, I ran without wickedness, and (ad)dressed my works. Rise up into my meeting, and see; (Lord, though I am innocent, they run into position against me. Rise up to help me, and see;)

⁵ and thou, Lord God of virtues, art God of Israel. Give thou attention to visit all folks; do thou not mercy to all that work wickedness. (for thou, Lord God of hosts, art the God of Israel. Give thou attention to punishing all the nations; do not thou give mercy to any who do evil.)

⁶ They shall be turned (again) at eventide, and they as dogs shall suffer hunger; and they shall compass, that is, go abegging, (in) the city. (They shall return in the evening, and they shall suffer hunger like dogs; and they shall go about begging in the city.)

² Deliver me from workers of iniquity, And from men of blood save me.

³ For, lo, they laid wait for my soul, Assembled against me are strong ones, Not my transgression nor my sin, O Jehovah.

⁴ Without punishment they run and prepare themselves, Stir up to meet me, and see.

⁵ And Thou, Jehovah, God of Hosts, God of Israel, Awake to inspect all the nations. Favour not any treacherous dealers of iniquity. Selah.
