⁵ Which hearkeneth not to the voice of charmers, Charming never so wisely.

⁶ Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: Break out the great teeth of the young lions, O Jehovah.

⁷ Let them melt away as water that runneth apace: When he aimeth his arrows, let them be as though they were cut off.

⁸ Let them be as a snail which melteth and passeth away, Like the untimely birth of a woman, that hath not seen the sun.

⁹ Before your pots can feel the thorns, He will take them away with a whirlwind, the green and the burning alike.

¹⁰ The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked;

¹¹ So that men shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: Verily there is a God that judgeth in the earth.

⁵ Without iniquity I ran and directed my course aright: awake to help me, and behold.

⁶ And thou, Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel, draw nigh to visit all the heathen; pity not any that work iniquity. Pause.

⁷ They shall return at evening, and hunger like a dog, and go round about the city.

⁸ Behold, they shall utter a voice with their mouth, and a sword is in their lips; for who, say they, has heard?

¹⁰ I will keep my strength, looking to thee; for thou, O God, art my helper.

¹¹ As for my God, his mercy shall go before me: my God will shew me vengeance on mine enemies.

⁶ God, as for these enemies who want to attack me like young lions, break their teeth!

⁷ Cause them to disappear like water disappears in dry ground! Cause the arrows that they shoot to have no ◄heads/sharp points►!

⁸ Cause them to become like snails that disappear in the slime; cause them to be like babies that are born dead!

⁹ Get rid of them as fast as thornbushes are blown away after they are cut (OR, as fast as a fire heats a pot over burning thorns).

¹⁰ Righteous people will rejoice when they see wicked people being punished as they deserve; they will wash their feet in the blood of wicked people.

¹¹ Then people will say, “It is true that there is a reward for righteous people; and there is indeed a God who judges people justly here on the earth!”

⁶ O God, let their teeth be broken in their mouths; let the great teeth of the young lions be pulled out, O Lord.

⁷ Let them be turned to liquid like the ever-flowing waters; let them be cut off like the grass by the way.

⁸ Let them be like an after-birth which is turned to water and comes to an end; like the fruit of a woman who gives birth before her time, let them not see the sun.

⁹ Before they are conscious of it, let them be cut down like thorns; let a strong wind take them away like waste growth.

¹⁰ The upright man will be glad when he sees their punishment; his feet will be washed in the blood of the evil-doer.

¹¹ So that men will say, Truly there is a reward for righteousness; truly there is a God who is judge on the earth.

⁵ Which doth not hearken to the voice of enchanters, of one charming ever so wisely.

¹⁰ The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance; he shall wash his footsteps in the blood of the wicked:

¹¹ And men shall say, Verily there is fruit for the righteous; verily there is a God that judgeth in the earth.

⁵ Neither is it my iniquity, nor my sin, O Lord: without iniquity have I run, and directed my steps.

⁶ Rise up thou to meet me, and behold: even thou, O Lord, the God of hosts, the God of Israel. Attend to visit all the nations: have no mercy on all them that work iniquity.

⁸ Behold they shall speak with their mouth, and a sword is in their lips: for who, say they, hath heard us?

⁹ But thou, O Lord, shalt laugh at them: thou shalt bring all the nations to nothing.

¹⁰ I will keep my strength to thee: for thou art my protector:

¹¹ My God, his mercy shall prevent me.

⁵ refusing to hear the voice of the snake charmers or the spellbinders.

⁶ God, break their teeth, and smash the jaws of these lions, Lord.

⁷ May they vanish like water that flows away; when they shoot their arrows may they miss their mark.

⁸ May they be like the slime of snails that dissolves away, like a stillborn child that never saw the light of day.

⁹ Before the cooking pot is hot from burning thorns, whether fresh or dry, God will blow them away.

¹⁰ Those who live right will be happy when they see there is punishment; they will wash their feet in the blood of the wicked.

¹¹ They will say, “There is definitely a reward for those who live right; there is certainly a God who judges fairly on earth.”

⁵ Which heareth not the voyce of the inchanter, though he be most expert in charming.

⁶ Breake their teeth, O God, in their mouthes: breake the iawes of the yong lions, O Lord.

⁷ Let them melt like the waters, let them passe away: when hee shooteth his arrowes, let them be as broken.

⁸ Let them consume like a snayle that melteth, and like the vntimely fruite of a woman, that hath not seene the sunne.

⁹ As raw flesh before your pots feele the fire of thornes: so let him cary them away as with a whirlewinde in his wrath.

¹⁰ The righteous shall reioyce when he seeeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feete in the blood of the wicked.

¹¹ And men shall say, Verily there is fruite for the righteous: doutlesse there is a God that iudgeth in the earth.

⁸ (58-9) Let them be as a snail which melteth and passeth away; like the untimely births of a woman, that have not seen the sun.

⁹ Before your pots feel the heat of the thorns, Whether fresh, or burning, may they be blown away!

¹⁰ The righteous shall rejoice, when he seeth such vengeance; He shall bathe his feet in the blood of the wicked.

¹¹ Then shall men say, “Truly there is a reward for the righteous! Truly there is a God who is judge upon the earth!”

⁵ and refuses to listen to the voice of the charmer, or binder of spells, no matter how cunning.

⁸ Like the snail that dissolves on its crawling path, like the birth untimely which sees not the sunlight.

⁹ Faster than a thorn-fire heats your pots, he will come with his tempest and sweep them away.

¹⁰ The sight of such vengeance will gladden the righteous; their feet they will wash in the blood of the wicked.

¹¹ People will say, “Yes, the just are rewarded: yes, on the earth is a God who is Judge.”

¹⁰ The just or rightwise man shall be glad, when he shall see vengeance; he shall wash his hands in the blood of a sinner.

¹¹ And a man shall say truly, For fruit is to a just or rightwise man; truly God is deeming them in earth.

⁵ Which shall not hear the voice of charmers; and of a venom-maker charming (ever so) wisely.

⁶ God shall all-break the teeth of them in their mouth; the Lord shall break (al)together the great teeth of lions. (O God, break all the teeth in their mouths; O Lord, break all in pieces the great teeth of these lions.)

⁷ They shall come to nought, as water running away; he bent his bow, till they be made sick. (They shall come to nothing, like water running forth; and when they go to bend their bows, they shall be made feeble, or weak.)

⁸ As wax that floateth away, they shall be taken away; fire fell above, and they saw not the sun. (Like a snail that melteth away into slime, they shall be taken away; like a dead-born child, they shall not see the sun.)

⁹ Before that your thorns understood the rhamn, either thieve-thorn; he swalloweth them so in ire, as (with) living men. (Before that the rhamn, or the thieve-thorn, that is, a weed, can grow, he shall swallow them up in his anger; yea, while they still be living.)

¹⁰ The just man shall be glad, when he shall see vengeance; he shall wash his hands in the blood of a sinner. (The righteous shall be glad when they see the vengeance taken; they shall wash their hands in the blood of the sinners.)

¹¹ And a man shall say truly, For fruit is to a just man; truly God is deeming them in earth. (And someone shall say, Truly there is a reward for the righteous; truly God is judging people here on earth.)

⁸ As a snail that melteth he goeth on, As an untimely birth of a woman, They have not seen the sun.

⁹ Before your pots discern the bramble, As well the raw as the heated He whirleth away.

¹⁰ The righteous rejoiceth that he hath seen vengeance, His steps he washeth in the blood of the wicked.

¹¹ And man saith: 'Surely fruit is for the righteous: Surely there is a God judging in the earth!'
