Psalms 54:3-7 in English

³ For strangers are risen up against me, And violent men have sought after my soul: They have not set God before them. Selah

⁴ Behold, God is my helper: The Lord is of them that uphold my soul.

⁵ He will requite the evil unto mine enemies: Destroy thou them in thy truth.

⁶ With a freewill-offering will I sacrifice unto thee: I will give thanks unto thy name, O Jehovah, for it is good.

⁷ For he hath delivered me out of all trouble; And mine eye hath seen my desire upon mine enemies.

³ Attend to me, and hearken to me: I was grieved in my meditation, and troubled;

⁴ because of the voice of the enemy, and because of the oppression of the sinner: for they brought iniquity against me, and were wrathfully angry with me.

⁵ My heart was troubled within me; and the fear of death fell upon me.

⁶ Fear and trembling came upon me, and darkness covered me.

⁷ And I said, O that I had wings as those of a dove! then would I flee away, and be at rest.

⁵ He will cause the evil things that they want to do to me to happen to them instead; because he faithfully does what he promises, he will get rid of them.

⁶ Yahweh, I will gladly give an offering to you because I want to, and I will thank you MTY, for you are good to me;

⁷ you have rescued me from all my troubles, and I have seen that you have defeated my enemies.

³ because of the voice of the enemy, and because of the oppression of the sinner: for they brought iniquity against me, and were wrathfully angry with me.

⁷ Because it has been my saviour from all my trouble; and my eyes have seen the punishment of my haters.

³ For strangers are risen up against me, and the violent seek after my life: they have not set God before them. Selah.

⁴ Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is among them that uphold my soul.

⁵ He will requite evil to mine enemies: in thy truth cut them off.

³ Be attentive to me and hear me. I am grieved in my exercise; and am troubled,

⁴ At the voice of the enemy, and at the tribulation of the sinner. For they have cast iniquities upon me: and in wrath they were troublesome to me.

⁵ My heart is troubled within me: and the fear of death is fallen upon me.

⁶ Fear and trembling are come upon me: and darkness hath covered me.

⁷ And I said: Who will give me wings like a dove, and I will fly and be at rest?

³ For strangers are coming to attack me—violent men who don't care about God are trying to kill me. Selah.

⁴ But God helps me; the Lord saves my life!

⁵ The evil my enemies have done will come back upon them. I depend on you to destroy them.

⁶ I will happily offer a sacrifice to you; I will praise the kind of person you are, Lord, for you are good.

⁷ For he has saved me from all my troubles; and I have seen those who hated me defeated.

³ For strangers are risen vp against me, and tyrants seeke my soule: they haue not set God before them. Selah.

⁴ Beholde, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that vpholde my soule.

⁵ He shall rewarde euill vnto mine enemies: Oh cut them off in thy trueth!

⁶ Then I will sacrifice freely vnto thee: I wil praise thy Name, O Lord, because it is good.

⁷ For he hath deliuered me out of al trouble, and mine eye hath seene my desire vpon mine enemies.

³ (54-5) For strangers are risen up against me, and violent men have sought after my soul; they have not set God before them. Selah

⁵ (54-7) He will requite the evil unto them that lie in wait for me; destroy Thou them in Thy truth.

⁶ (54-8) With a freewill-offering will I sacrifice unto Thee; I will give thanks unto Thy name, O LORD, for it is good.

⁷ (54-9) For He hath delivered me out of all trouble; and mine eye hath gazed upon mine enemies.

⁵ (54:7) He will cause the evil to return upon those that regard me with envy: in thy truth cut them off.

⁶ (54:8) I will liberally sacrifice unto thee: I will give thanks unto thy name, O Lord; for it is good.

⁷ (54:9) For out of all distress hath he delivered me: and my eye hath seen its desire on my enemies.

⁷ For thou hast delivered me from all trouble, So that my eye hath looked with joy upon my enemies!

³ For proud men have risen against me, and terrible men seek my life, men who do not set God before them. Selah

⁴ But see! God is my helper, the Lord is sustaining my life.

⁵ Let their evil fall back on my foes: cut them off in your faithfulness, Lord.

⁶ Then will I bring you glad sacrifice, praising your gracious name;

⁷ for from all distress you have saved me, and feasted my eyes on my foes.

³ For proud men have risen against me, and terrible men seek my life, men who do not set God before them. Selah

⁴ But see! God is my helper, the Lord is sustaining my life.

⁵ Let their evil fall back on my foes: cut them off in your faithfulness, Lord.

⁶ Then will I bring you glad sacrifice, praising your gracious name;

⁷ for from all distress you have saved me, and feasted my eyes on my foes.

⁶ Willfully I shall sacrifice to thee; and, Lord, I shall acknowledge to thy name, for it is good.

⁷ For thou deliveredest me from all tribulation; and mine eye despised on mine enemies.

³ For aliens have risen against me, and strong men sought my life; and they setted not God before their sight. (For foreigners, or strangers, have risen against me, and strong men sought to take my life; and they never have a thought about God.)

⁴ For lo! God helpeth me; and the Lord is the up-taker of my soul (or and the Lord is my defender).

⁵ Turn thou away evils to mine enemies; and lose thou them in thy truth. (O Lord, turn thou back their own evil upon my enemies; and destroy thou them by thy truth.)

⁶ Willfully I shall sacrifice to thee; and, Lord, I shall acknowledge to thy name, for it is good. (I shall willingly sacrifice to thee, Lord; and I shall praise thy name, for it is good.)

⁷ For thou deliveredest me from all tribulation; and mine eye despised on mine enemies. (For thou hast rescued me from every trouble; and I have seen come to pass what I desire for my enemies or and my eyes have seen the defeat of my enemies.)

³ For strangers have risen up against me And terrible ones have sought my soul, They have not set God before them. Selah.

⁴ Lo, God is a helper to me, The Lord is with those supporting my soul,

⁵ Turn back doth the evil thing to mine enemies, In Thy truth cut them off.

⁶ With a free will-offering I sacrifice to Thee, I thank Thy name, O Jehovah, for it is good,

⁷ For, from all adversity He delivered me, And on mine enemies hath mine eye looked!
