Psalms 53:3-5 in English

³ Every one of them is gone back; they are together become filthy; There is none that doeth good, no, not one.

⁴ Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge, Who eat up my people as they eat bread, And call not upon God?

⁵ There were they in great fear, where no fear was; For God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: Thou hast put them to shame, because God hath rejected them.

³ Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy might.

⁴ O God, hear my prayer; hearken to the words of my mouth.

⁵ For strangers have risen up against me, and mighty men have sought my life: they have not set God before them. Pause.

³ Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

⁴ Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God.

³ But they are all morally corrupt; no one does what is good/right.

⁴ Will all these evil people never learn what God will do to them? They act violently toward Yahweh's people while eating the food that he provides, and they never pray to Yahweh.

⁵ But some day those people will become terrified, like they have never been terrified before, because God will cause those who are separated from him to die, and he will disrespect them by scattering their bones. They have rejected God, so he will cause them to be defeated and completely disgraced.

⁴ Have the workers of evil no knowledge? they take my people for food, as they would take bread; they make no prayer to God.

⁵ They were in great fear, where there was no cause for fear: for the bones of those who make war on you have been broken by God; you have put them to shame, because God has no desire for them.

³ Every one of them is gone back, they are together become corrupt: there is none that doeth good, not even one.

⁴ Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge, eating up my people as they eat bread? they call not upon God.

⁵ There were they in great fear, where no fear was; for God scattereth the bones of him that encampeth against thee. Thou hast put them to shame, for God hath despised them.

³ Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me in thy strength.

⁴ O God, hear my prayer: give ear to the words of my mouth.

⁵ For strangers have risen up against me; and the mighty have sought after my soul: and they have not set God before their eyes.

³ They have all fallen away, they are totally depraved; none of them does anything good, not even one.

⁴ “Won't these people who do evil ever learn? They consume my people as if they were eating bread, and refuse to pray to me.”

⁵ They will become completely terrified, more frightened than they have ever been. God will scatter the bones of those who fight against you; you will defeat them because God has rejected them.

³ Euery one is gone backe: they are altogether corrupt: there is none that doth good, no not one.

⁴ Doe not the workers of iniquitie knowe that they eate vp my people as they eate bread? they call not vpon God.

⁵ There they were afraide for feare, where no feare was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that besieged thee: thou hast put them to confusion, because God hath cast them off.

³ (53-4) Every one of them is unclean, they are together become impure; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

⁴ (53-5) 'Shall not the workers of iniquity know it, who eat up My people as they eat bread, and call not upon God?'

⁵ (53-6) There are they in great fear, where no fear was; for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee; Thou hast put them to shame, because God hath rejected them.

³ (53:4) Every one of them hath departed from righteousness; altogether are they become corrupt: there is none that doth good, no, not one.

⁴ (53:5) Is there no knowledge in the workers of wickedness? who eat up my people as they eat bread: while they do not call on God.

⁵ (53:6) There were they terrified with terror where there was no terror; for God had scattered the bones of those that encamped against thee: thou didst put them to shame, because God had rejected them.

³ Save me, O God, by thy name, And judge me by thy might.

⁴ Shall not the evil-doers be requited, Who eat up my people like bread, And call not upon God?

⁵ Yea! fear shall come upon them, Where no fear is; For God will scatter the bones of him that encampeth against thee; Thou shalt put them to shame, for God despiseth them!

³ But all have turned bad, the taint is on all; not one does good, no, not one.

⁴ Have they learnt their lesson, those workers of evil? Who ate up my people, eating, devouring, never calling to the Lord.

⁵ Sore afraid will they be, where no fear was; when God scatters the bones of the godless people. They will be put to shame, when God rejects them.

³ But all have turned bad, the taint is on all; not one does good, no, not one.

⁴ Do those who commit iniquity have no understanding— those who devour my people as if they were eating bread and they do not call on God?

⁵ They were in great fear, although no reason to fear was there; for God will scatter the bones of whoever will camp against you; such people will be put to shame because God has rejected them.

³ Every one of them has gone back. They have become filthy together. There is no one who does good, no, not one.

⁴ Whether all men, that work wicked-ness, shall not know; which devour my people, as the meat of bread? They called not God;

⁵ there they trembled for dread, where no dread was. For God hath scattered the bones of them, that please men; they be shamed, for God hath forsaken them.

³ All bowed away, they be made unprofitable (al)together; none is that doeth good, there is not till to one. (But they all have turned away, they all be made utterly unredeemable; there is no one who doeth good, no not one.)

⁴ Whether all men, that work wickedness, shall not know; which devour my people, as the meat of bread? They called not God; (Surely all those, who do evil, already know this; yea, they who devour my people, like people eat bread. They do not call on the Lord;)

⁵ there they trembled for dread, where no dread was. For God hath scattered the bones of them, that please men; they be shamed, for God hath forsaken them. (but they trembled there in fear, like never before. For God hath scattered the bones of those who please people; they be put to shame, for God hath deserted, or hath despised, them.)

³ Every one went back, together they became filthy, There is none doing good — not even one.

⁴ Have not workers of iniquity known, Those eating my people have eaten bread, God they have not called.

⁵ There they feared a fear — there was no fear, For God hath scattered the bones of him Who is encamping against thee, Thou hast put to shame, For God hath despised them.
