¹⁴ Offer unto God the sacrifice of thanksgiving; And pay thy vows unto the Most High;

¹⁵ And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

¹⁶ But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, And that thou hast taken my covenant in thy mouth,

¹⁷ Seeing that thou hatest instruction, And castest my words behind thee?

¹⁸ When thou sawest a thief, thou consentedst with him, And hast been partaker with adulterers.

¹⁹ Thou givest thy mouth to evil, And thy tongue frameth deceit.

²⁰ Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; Thou slanderest thine own mother’s son.

¹⁴ Restore to me the joy of thy salvation: establish me with thy directing Spirit.

¹⁵ Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and ungodly men shall turn to thee.

¹⁶ Deliver me from blood-guiltiness, O God, the God of my salvation: and my tongue shall joyfully declare thy righteousness.

¹⁷ O Lord, thou shalt open my lips; and my mouth shall declare thy praise.

¹⁸ For if thou desiredst sacrifice, I would have given it: thou wilt not take pleasure in whole-burnt-offerings.

¹⁹ Sacrifice to God is a broken spirit: a broken and humbled heart God will not despise.

²⁰ Do good, O Lord, to Sion in thy good pleasure; and let the walls of Jerusalem be built.

¹⁵ And pray to me when you have troubles. If you do that, I will rescue you, and then you will praise me.

¹⁶ But I say this to the wicked people: ◄Why do you/It does not benefit you at all to► RHQ recite my commandments or talk about the agreement that I made with you,

¹⁷ because you have refused to allow me to discipline you, and you have rejected what I told you to do.

¹⁸ Every time that you see a thief, you become his friend, and you spend much time with those who commit adultery.

¹⁹ You are always talking MTY about doing wicked things, and you are always trying to deceive people.

²⁰ You are always accusing members of your own family of doing wrong, and slandering them.

¹⁴ Make an offering of praise to God; keep the agreements which you have made with the Most High;

¹⁵ Let your voice come up to me in the day of trouble; I will be your saviour, so that you may give glory to me.

¹⁶ But to the sinner, God says, What are you doing, talking of my laws, or taking the words of my agreement in your mouth?

¹⁷ Seeing that you have no desire for my teaching, turning your back on my words.

¹⁸ When you saw a thief, you were in agreement with him, and you were joined with those who took other men's wives.

¹⁹ You have given your mouth to evil, your tongue to words of deceit.

²⁰ You say evil of your brother; you make false statements against your mother's son.

¹⁴ Offer unto God thanksgiving, and perform thy vows unto the Most High;

¹⁵ And call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

¹⁶ But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant into thy mouth,

¹⁷ Seeing thou hast hated correction and hast cast my words behind thee?

¹⁸ When thou sawest a thief, thou didst take pleasure in him, and thy portion was with adulterers;

¹⁹ Thou lettest thy mouth loose to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit;

²⁰ Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother, thou revilest thine own mother's son:

¹⁴ Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation, and strengthen me with a perfect spirit.

¹⁵ I will teach the unjust thy ways: and the wicked shall be converted to thee.

¹⁶ Deliver me from blood, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall extol thy justice.

¹⁷ O Lord, thou wilt open my lips: and my mouth shall declare thy praise.

¹⁸ For if thou hadst desired sacrifice, I would indeed have given it: with burnt offerings thou wilt not be delighted.

¹⁹ A sacrifice to God is an afflicted spirit: a contrite and humbled heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

²⁰ Deal favourably, O Lord, in thy good will with Sion; that the walls of Jerusalem may be built up.

¹⁴ Give an offering of thanks to God; keep the promises you made to the Most High,

¹⁵ and call on me when you're in trouble. I will rescue you, and you will thank me.”

¹⁶ But to the wicked God says, “What's the point of mechanically repeating my laws or making empty promises about obeying the agreement?

¹⁷ You hate my discipline, and you toss my words away, leaving them behind you.

¹⁸ When you see people stealing, you admire them; you associate with adulterers.

¹⁹ With your mouth you say evil things; you use your tongue to spread lies.

²⁰ You sit there and speak against your brother, slandering your own mother's son.

¹⁴ Offer vnto God praise, and pay thy vowes vnto the most High,

¹⁵ And call vpon me in the day of trouble: so will I deliuer thee, and thou shalt glorifie me.

¹⁶ But vnto the wicked said God, What hast thou to doe to declare mine ordinances, that thou shouldest take my couenant in thy mouth,

¹⁷ Seeing thou hatest to bee reformed, and hast cast my wordes behinde thee?

¹⁸ For when thou seest a thiefe, thou runnest with him, and thou art partaker with the adulterers.

¹⁹ Thou giuest thy mouth to euill, and with thy tongue thou forgest deceit.

²⁰ Thou sittest, and speakest against thy brother, and slanderest thy mothers sonne.

¹⁴ Offer unto God the sacrifice of thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the Most High;

¹⁵ And call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver thee, and thou shalt honour Me.'

¹⁶ But unto the wicked God saith: 'What hast thou to do to declare My statutes, and that thou hast taken My covenant in thy mouth?

¹⁴ Offer to God a thank-offering, pay the Most High your vows.

¹⁵ Summon me in the day of distress, I will rescue you, so will you honour me.”

¹⁷ Soothly thou hatedest lore, or discipline; and hast cast away my words behind thee.

¹⁸ If thou sawest a thief, thou rannest with him; and thou settedest thy part with adulterers.

¹⁹ Thy mouth was plenteous of malice; and thy tongue meddled together guiles or treacheries.

²⁰ Thou sitting spakest against thy brother, and thou settedest slander against the son of thy mother;

¹⁴ Offer thou to God the sacrifice of praising; and yield thine avows to the highest God. (Offer thou, or give, to God the sacrifice of praise; and pay thy vows to the Most High God.)

¹⁵ And inwardly call thou me in the day of tribulation; and I shall deliver thee, and thou shalt honour me. (And call thou on me in the day of trouble; and I shall save thee, and then thou shalt honour me.)

¹⁶ But God said to the sinner, Why tellest thou out my rightfulnesses; and takest my testament by thy mouth? (But God said to the sinner, Why should thou tell out my statutes? and why hast thou my covenant in thy mouth?)

¹⁷ Soothly thou hatedest lore, or discipline; and hast cast away my words behind (thee). (Truly thou hatedest chastisement; and hast thrown away my words behind thee.)

¹⁸ If thou sawest a thief, thou rannest with him; and thou settedest thy part with adulterers.

¹⁹ Thy mouth was plenteous of malice; and thy tongue meddled together guiles. (Thy mouth is full of malice; and thy tongue mixeth up batches of lies.)

²⁰ Thou sitting spakest against thy brother, and thou settedest slander against the son of thy mother; (And thou sitteth down, and speakest against thy brother, yea, thou settest forth slander against thy mother’s son;)

¹⁴ Sacrifice to God confession, And complete to the Most High thy vows.

¹⁵ And call Me in a day of adversity, I deliver thee, and thou honourest Me.

¹⁶ And to the wicked hath God said: What to thee — to recount My statutes? That thou liftest up My covenant on thy mouth?

¹⁷ Yea, thou hast hated instruction, And dost cast My words behind thee.

¹⁸ If thou hast seen a thief, Then thou art pleased with him, And with adulterers is thy portion.

¹⁹ Thy mouth thou hast sent forth with evil, And thy tongue joineth deceit together,

²⁰ Thou sittest, against thy brother thou speakest, Against a son of thy mother givest slander.
