² Both low and high, Rich and poor together.

³ My mouth shall speak wisdom; And the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.

⁴ I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.

⁵ Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, When iniquity at my heels compasseth me about?

⁶ They that trust in their wealth, And boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;

⁷ None of them can by any means redeem his brother, Nor give to God a ransom for him

² Out of Sion comes the excellence of his beauty.

³ God, our God, shall come manifestly, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall be kindled before him, and round about him there shall be a very great tempest.

⁴ He shall summon the heaven above, and the earth, that he may judge his people.

⁵ Assemble ye his saints to him, those that have engaged in a covenant with him upon sacrifices.

⁶ And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge. Pause.

⁷ Hear, my people, and I will speak to thee, O Israel: and I will testify to thee: I am God, thy God.

⁵ I am not RHQ afraid when I am in trouble/danger, when I am surrounded by my enemies,

⁶ by evil men who trust that things will always go well for them because they are wealthy, and who boast about being very rich.

⁷ They may be rich, but no one can pay money with the result that he would live forever! No one can pay God enough so that God will allow him to continue to live,

⁵ What cause have I for fear in the days of evil, when the evil-doing of those who are working for my downfall is round about me?

⁶ Even of those whose faith is in their wealth, and whose hearts are lifted up because of their stores.

⁷ Truly, no man may get back his soul for a price, or give to God the payment for himself;

² Both men of low and men of high degree, rich and poor alike.

³ My mouth shall speak wisdom, and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding:

⁴ I will incline mine ear to a parable, I will open my riddle upon the harp.

⁵ Wherefore should I fear in the days of adversity, when the iniquity of my supplanters encompasseth me? —

⁶ They depend upon their wealth, and boast themselves in the abundance of their riches. ...

⁷ None can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him,

² Out of Sion the loveliness of his beauty.

³ God shall come manifestly: our God shall come, and shall not keep silence. A fire shall burn before him: and a mighty tempest shall be round about him.

⁴ He shall call heaven from above, and the earth, to judge his people.

⁵ Gather ye together his saints to him: who set his covenant before sacrifices.

⁶ And the heavens shall declare his justice: for God is judge.

⁷ Hear, O my people, and I will speak: O Israel, and I will testify to thee: I am God, thy God.

² whether you are highborn or lowborn, rich or poor!

³ For what I say is wise, and my thinking is perceptive.

⁴ I pay attention to wise sayings; I answer hard questions to a tune on the harp.

⁵ Why should I be afraid when trouble comes, when evil enemies surround me?

⁶ They trust in their wealth; they boast about their riches,

⁷ but no one can pay to rescue another from death; no one can pay a ransom to God.

² As well lowe as hie, both rich and poore.

³ My mouth shall speake of wisdome, and the meditation of mine heart is of knowledge.

⁴ I will incline mine eare to a parable, and vtter my graue matter vpon the harpe.

⁵ Wherefore should I feare in the euil dayes, when iniquitie shall compasse me about, as at mine heeles?

⁶ They trust in their goods, and boast them selues in the multitude of their riches.

⁷ Yet a man can by no meanes redeeme his brother: he can not giue his raunsome to God,

² (49-3) Both low and high, rich and poor together.

³ (49-4) My mouth shall speak wisdom, and the meditation of my heart shall be understanding.

⁵ (49-6) Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my supplanters compasseth me about,

⁶ (49-7) Of them that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches?

⁷ (49-8) No man can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him —

² people of low degree and high, the rich and the poor together.

³ My mouth shall utter wisdom, the thoughts of a seeing heart.

⁷ A brother again-buyeth not, shall a man again-buy? and he shall not give to God his pleasing.

² All the sons of earth, and the sons of men; together the rich man, and the poor into one. (All the sons and daughters of the earth, the sons and daughters of men; yea, the rich and the poor, together as one.)

³ My mouth shall speak wisdom; and the thinking of mine heart shall speak prudence.

⁴ I shall bow down mine ear into a parable; I shall open my reason set forth in a psaltery. (I shall listen closely to a parable; then I shall set forth my understanding on a lute.)

⁵ Why shall I dread in the evil day? the wickedness of mine heel shall (en)compass me. (Why should I have fear, or be afraid, on the day of evil, when the wickedness of my enemies shall surround me?)

⁶ Which trust in their own virtue (or They who trust in their wealth); and have glory in the multitude of their riches.

⁷ A brother again-buyeth not, shall a man again-buy? and he shall not give to God his pleasing. (No one shall ever be able to redeem himself; he shall never be able to pay God the price that he asketh for him.)

² Both low and high, together rich and needy.

³ My mouth speaketh wise things, And the meditations of my heart are things of understanding.

⁴ I incline to a simile mine ear, I open with a harp my riddle:

⁵ Why do I fear in days of evil? The iniquity of my supplanters doth compass me.

⁶ Those trusting on their wealth, And in the multitude of their riches, Do shew themselves foolish.

⁷ A brother doth no one at all ransom, He doth not give to God his atonement.
