² Thou art fairer than the children of men; Grace is poured into thy lips: Therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.

³ Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O mighty one, Thy glory and thy majesty.

⁴ And in thy majesty ride on prosperously, Because of truth and meekness and righteousness: And thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.

⁵ Thine arrows are sharp; The peoples fall under thee; They are in the heart of the king’s enemies.

⁶ Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: A sceptre of equity is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

⁷ Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated wickedness: Therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee With the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

² God is our refuge and strength, a help in the afflictions that have come heavily upon us.

³ Therefore will we not fear when the earth is troubled, and the mountains are removed into the depths of the seas.

⁴ Their waters have roared and been troubled, the mountains have been troubled by his might. Pause.

⁵ The flowings of the river gladden the city of God: the Most High has sanctified his tabernacle.

⁶ God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her with his countenance.

⁷ The nations were troubled, the kingdoms tottered: he uttered his voice, the earth shook.

² O King, you are the most handsome man in the world, and you always speak MTY eloquently, because God has always blessed you.

³ You who are a mighty warrior, put on your sword! You are glorious and majestic.

⁴ Ride on like a great chief to defend the truth that you speak and the fair decisions that you make! Because you are strong MTY, you will do awesome deeds.

⁵ Your arrows are sharp, and they pierce the hearts of your enemies. Soldiers of many nations will fall dead at your feet.

⁶ The kingdom MTY that God will give to you will remain forever. You rule MTY people justly.

⁷ You love right actions, and you hate evil actions. Therefore God, your God, has chosen MTY you to be king and caused you to be happier MET than any other king.

⁶ Your seat of power, O God, is for ever and ever; the rod of your kingdom is a rod of honour.

⁷ You have been a lover of righteousness and a hater of evil: and so God, your God, has put the oil of joy on your head, lifting you high over all other kings.

⁴ And in thy splendour ride prosperously, because of truth and meekness and righteousness: and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.

⁶ Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever; a sceptre of uprightness is the sceptre of thy kingdom:

⁷ Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated wickedness; therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy companions.

² Our God is our refuge and strength: a helper in troubles, which have found us exceedingly.

³ Therefore we will not fear, when the earth shall be troubled; and the mountains shall be removed into the heart of the sea.

⁴ Their waters roared and were troubled: the mountains were troubled with his strength.

⁵ The stream of the river maketh the city of God joyful: the most High hath sanctified his own tabernacle.

⁶ God is in the midst thereof, it shall not be moved: God will help it in the morning early.

⁷ Nations were troubled, and kingdoms were bowed down: he uttered his voice, the earth trembled.

² You are more handsome than anyone else. You always speak graciously, for God has blessed you forever.

³ Strap on your sword, mighty warrior, stride out in glory and majesty!

⁴ In your majesty ride out to victory, in the defense of truth, humility, and right, because you are strong and act powerfully.

⁵ Your sharp arrows pierce the hearts of your enemies; the nations fall under you.

⁶ Your throne comes from God, and lasts forever and ever. The scepter with which you rule is a scepter of fairness.

⁷ You love what is right and hate what is wrong. That is why God, your God, has placed you above everyone else by anointing you with the oil of joy.

³ Gird thy sword vpon thy thigh, O most mightie, to wit, thy worship and thy glory,

⁴ And prosper with thy glory: ride vpon the worde of trueth and of meekenes and of righteousnes: so thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.

⁵ Thine arrowes are sharpe to pearce the heart of the Kings enemies: therefore the people shall fall vnder thee.

⁶ Thy throne, O God, is for euer and euer: the scepter of thy kingdome is a scepter of righteousnesse.

⁷ Thou louest righteousnes, and hatest wickednesse, because God, euen thy God hath anoynted thee with the oyle of gladnes aboue thy fellowes.

⁴ (45-5) And in thy majesty prosper, ride on, in behalf of truth and meekness and righteousness; and let thy right hand teach thee tremendous things.

⁶ (45-7) Thy throne given of God is for ever and ever; a sceptre of equity is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

⁷ (45-8) Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated wickedness; therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

⁵ (45:6) Thy sharpened arrows—people will fall down beneath thee—will enter into the heart of the king's enemies.

⁶ (45:7) Thy throne, given of God, endureth for ever and ever: the sceptre of equity is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

⁷ (45:8) Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore hath God, thy God, anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy associates.

⁴ Good fortune attend you, as forth you ride in the cause of good faith, and as champion of justice. May your arm instruct you in deeds of dread.

⁵ Thy sharp arrows shall fall into the hearts of the enemies of the king; peoples shall be under thee.

⁷ Thou lovedest rightfulness or right-wiseness, and hatedest wickedness; therefore thou, God, thy God, anointed thee with the oil of gladness, more than thy fellows.

(Thou anointed king, thou art more comely in appearance than any other man; grace is spread abroad by thy lips or thy lips speak most eloquently; yea, God hath blessed thee forever.)

³ Be thou gird with thy sword; on thy hip most mightily. Behold thou in thy shapeliness and thy fairness; (Be thou gird with thy sword on thy hip, most mighty man. In thy glory, and in thy majesty,)

⁴ come thou forth with prosperity, and reign thou. For truth, and mildness, and rightfulness; and thy right hand shall lead forth thee wonderfully. (come thou forth with prosperity; and reign thou in truth, and humility, and righteousness. And thy right hand, or thy strength, shall lead thee forth to great victories.)

⁵ Thy sharp arrows shall fall into the hearts of the enemies of the king; peoples shall be under thee. (Thy arrows shall be sharp in the hearts of the enemies of the king; and nations shall fall down under thee.)

⁶ God, thy seat is into the world of world; the rod of thy realm is a rod of right ruling, or of equity. (Like God, thy throne shall last forever; and the sceptre of thy kingdom is a sceptre of justice, yea, of equity and fairness.)

⁷ Thou lovedest rightfulness, and hatedest wickedness; therefore thou, God, thy God, (or and so God, thy God), anointed thee with the oil of gladness, more than thy fellows.

² Thou hast been beautified above the sons of men, Grace hath been poured into thy lips, Therefore hath God blessed thee to the age.
