³ For they gat not the land in possession by their own sword, Neither did their own arm save them; But thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, Because thou wast favorable unto them.

⁴ Thou art my King, O God: Command deliverance for Jacob.

⁵ Through thee will we push down our adversaries: Through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.

⁶ For I will not trust in my bow, Neither shall my sword save me.

⁷ But thou hast saved us from our adversaries, And hast put them to shame that hate us.

⁸ In God have we made our boast all the day long, And we will give thanks unto thy name for ever. Selah

⁹ But now thou hast cast us off, and brought us to dishonor, And goest not forth with our hosts.

³ Thou art more beautiful than the sons of men: grace has been shed forth on thy lips: therefore God has blessed thee for ever.

⁴ Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O Mighty One, in thy comeliness, and in thy beauty;

⁵ and bend thy bow, and prosper, and reign, because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall guide thee wonderfully.

⁶ Thy weapons are sharpened, Mighty One, (the nations shall fall under thee) they are in the heart of the king's enemies.

⁷ Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a sceptre of righteousness.

⁸ Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity: therefore God, thy God, has anointed thee with the oil of gladness beyond thy fellows.

⁹ Myrrh, and stacte, and cassia are exhaled from thy garments, and out of the ivory palaces,

³ For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.

³ It was not by using their own swords that they conquered the people that lived in that land, and it was not by their own power that they were victorious; it was only by your power MTY, DOU that they did those things; and they were sure that you were with them, and that showed that you were pleased with them.

⁴ You are my King and my God; it is you who enable us, your people MTY, to defeat our enemies.

⁵ It is by your power that we knock our enemies down and tramp on them.

⁶ I do not trust that I will be saved by using my bow and arrows and my sword.

⁷ No, it is you who have rescued us from our enemies, it is you who have caused those who hate us to become ashamed because they were defeated.

⁸ We have continually boasted about what God has done for us, and we will thank him MTY forever.

⁹ But now you have rejected us and caused us to be disgraced; when our armies march out to fight a battle, you no longer go with them.

⁵ Through you will we overcome our haters; by your name will they be crushed under our feet who are violent against us.

⁶ I will not put faith in my bow, my sword will not be my salvation.

⁷ But it is you who have been our saviour from those who were against us, and have put to shame those who had hate for us.

⁸ Our pride is in God at all times, to his name we give praise for ever. (Selah.)

⁹ But now you have sent us away from you, and put us to shame; you do not go out with our armies.

⁹ But thou hast cast off, and put us to confusion, and dost not go forth with our armies;

³ Thou art beautiful above the sons of men: grace is poured abroad in thy lips; therefore hath God blessed thee for ever.

⁴ Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O thou most mighty.

⁵ With thy comeliness and thy beauty set out, proceed prosperously, and reign. Because of truth and meekness and justice: and thy right hand shall conduct thee wonderfully.

⁶ Thy arrows are sharp: under thee shall people fall, into the hearts of the king’s enemies.

⁷ Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a sceptre of uprightness.

⁸ Thou hast loved justice, and hated iniquity: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

⁹ Myrrh and stacte and cassia perfume thy garments, from the ivory houses: out of which

³ They did not conquer the land using their swords; it was not through their own strength that the victory was won—it was by your strength, your power, and your presence with them, because you loved them.

⁴ God, you are my King; command victories for Jacob!

⁵ Only through you can we repel our enemies; only in your name can we defeat our opponents.

⁶ I do not trust my bow; I do not have confidence in my sword to save me.

⁷ You are the one who saves us from our enemies; you defeat those who hate us.

⁸ God, we proudly thank you all day long, and praise your name forever. Selah.

⁹ But now you have rejected and disgraced us; you no longer accompany our armies.

³ For they inherited not the lande by their owne sworde, neither did their owne arme saue them: but thy right hand, and thine arme and the light of thy countenance, because thou didest fauour them.

⁴ Thou art my King, O God: send helpe vnto Iaakob.

⁵ Through thee haue we thrust backe our aduersaries: by thy Name haue we troden downe them that rose vp against vs.

⁶ For I do not trust in my bowe, neither can my sworde saue me.

⁷ But thou hast saued vs from our aduersaries, and hast put them to confusion that hate vs.

⁸ Therefore will wee praise God continually, and will confesse thy Name for euer. Selah.

⁹ But now thou art farre off, and puttest vs to confusion, and goest not forth with our armies.

³ (44-4) For not by their own sword did they get the land in possession, neither did their own arm save them; but Thy right hand, and Thine arm, and the light of Thy countenance, because Thou wast favourable unto them.

⁴ (44-5) Thou art my King, O God; command the salvation of Jacob.

⁵ (44-6) Through Thee do we push down our adversaries; through Thy name do we tread them under that rise up against us.

⁶ (44-7) For I trust not in my bow, neither can my sword save me.

⁷ (44-8) But Thou hast saved us from our adversaries, and hast put them to shame that hate us.

⁸ (44-9) In God have we gloried all the day, and we will give thanks unto Thy name for ever. Selah

⁹ (44-10) Yet Thou hast cast off, and brought us to confusion; and goest not forth with our hosts.

⁷ (44:8) But thou helpest us against our assailants, and those that hate us thou puttest to shame.

⁸ (44:9) Of God we boast all the day, and to thy name will we give thanks for ever. Selah.

⁹ (44:10) But now thou hast cast off, and put us to the blush, and goest not forth with our armies.

⁹ Yet now thou hast cast us off, and put us to shame; Thou goest not forth with our armies.

³ it was not their own arm that brought them the victory. Yours was the hand and the arm, yours was the face that shone on them with favour.

⁴ It was you, my king and my God, that ordained the victories of Jacob.

⁵ By thee we shall winnow our enemies with the horn; and in thy name we shall despise them, that rise against us.

⁶ For I shall not hope in my bow; and my sword shall not save me.

⁷ For thou hast saved us from men tormenting us; and thou hast shamed men hating us.

⁸ We shall be pleased in God all day; and in thy name we shall acknowledge to thee into the world.

⁹ But now thou hast put us aback, and hast shamed us; and thou, Lord, shalt not go out in our virtues.

³ For the children of Israel wielded the land not by their sword; and the arm of them saved not them. But thy right hand, and thine arm, and the lightening of thy cheer; for thou were pleased in them. (For the children of Israel took the land not by their own swords; and their own power did not save them. But it was thy right hand, and thy power, and the shining of thy face; for thou gavest favour to them.)

⁴ Thou art thyself, my king, and my God; that sendest healths to Jacob. (Thou art my King, and my God; who sendest help to Jacob.)

⁵ By thee we shall winnow our enemies with the horn; and in thy name we shall despise them, that rise against us. (By thy power we shall winnow our enemies; and in thy name, we shall defeat those who rise up against us.)

⁶ For I shall not hope in my bow (or For I shall not trust in my bow); and my sword shall not save me.

⁷ For thou hast saved us from men tormenting us; and thou hast shamed men hating us.

⁸ We shall be pleased in God all day; and in thy name we shall acknowledge to thee into the world. (We shall glory in God all day long; and we shall praise thy name forever.)

⁹ But now thou hast put us aback, and hast shamed us; and thou, Lord, shalt not go out in our virtues. (But now thou hast rejected us, and hast humbled us; and O Lord, thou no longer goeth out with our hosts, or our armies.)

³ For, not by their sword Possessed they the land, And their arm gave not salvation to them, But Thy right hand, and Thine arm, And the light of Thy countenance, Because Thou hadst accepted them.

⁴ Thou art He, my king, O God, Command the deliverances of Jacob.

⁵ By Thee our adversaries we do push, By Thy name tread down our withstanders,

⁷ For Thou hast saved us from our adversaries, And those hating us Thou hast put to shame.

⁹ In anger Thou hast cast off and causest us to blush, And goest not forth with our hosts.
