³ Jehovah will support him upon the couch of languishing: Thou makest all his bed in his sickness.

⁴ I said, O Jehovah, have mercy upon me: Heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.

⁵ Mine enemies speak evil against me, saying, When will he die, and his name perish?

⁶ And if he come to see me, he speaketh falsehood; His heart gathereth iniquity to itself: When he goeth abroad, he telleth it.

⁷ All that hate me whisper together against me; Against me do they devise my hurt.

⁸ An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him; And now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.

⁹ Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, Who did eat of my bread, Hath lifted up his heel against me.

³ My soul has thirsted for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?

⁴ My tears have been bread to me day and night, while they daily said to me, Where is thy God?

⁵ I remembered these things, and poured out my soul in me, for I will go to the place of thy wondrous tabernacle, even to the house of God, with a voice of exultation and thanksgiving and of the sound of those who keep festival.

⁶ Wherefore art thou very sad, O my soul? and wherefore dost thou trouble me? hope in God; for I will give thanks to him; he is the salvation of my countenance.

⁷ O my God, my soul has been troubled within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Ermonites, from the little hill.

⁸ Deep calls to deep at the voice of thy cataracts: all thy billows and thy waves have gone over me.

⁹ By day the Lord will command his mercy, and manifest it by night: with me is prayer to the God of my life.

⁴ When I was sick, I said, “Yahweh, be merciful to me and heal me; I know that I am sick because I have sinned against you.”

⁵ My enemies say cruel things about me; they say, “How soon will he die, and then everyone will forget about him MTY? (OR, he will not have any descendants to continue his name).”

⁶ When my enemies come to me, they falsely say that they are concerned about me. They listen to bad news about ◄me/my health►. Then they go away and tell everywhere what is happening to me.

⁷ All those who hate me whisper to others about me, and they hope/desire that very bad things will happen to me.

⁸ They say, “He will soon die because of his being sick; he will never get up from his bed before he dies.”

⁹ Even my best friend, whom I trusted very much, who often ate with me, has ◄betrayed me/put me into my enemies' hands► IDM.

⁶ If one comes to see me, deceit is in his heart; he keeps a store of evil, which he makes public in every place.

⁷ All my haters are talking secretly together against me; they are designing my downfall.

⁸ They say, He has an evil disease, which will not let him go: and now that he is down he will not get up again.

⁹ Even my dearest friend, in whom I had faith, who took bread with me, is turned against me.

³ My soul hath thirsted after the strong living God; when shall I come and appear before the face of God?

⁴ My tears have been any bread day and night, whilst it is said to me daily: Where is thy God?

⁵ These things I remembered, and poured out my soul in me: for I shall go over into the place of the wonderful tabernacle, even to the house of God: With the voice of joy and praise; the noise of one feasting.

⁶ Why art thou sad, O my soul? and why dost thou trouble me? Hope in God, for I will still give praise to him: the salvation of my countenance,

⁷ And my God. My soul is troubled within myself: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan and Hermoniim, from the little hill.

⁸ Deep calleth on deep, at the noise of thy flood-gates. All thy heights and thy billows have passed over me.

⁹ In the daytime the Lord hath commanded his mercy; and a canticle to him in the night. With me is prayer to the God of my life.

³ The Lord looks after them when they're sick; he makes them well from their illness.

⁴ “Lord, please be gracious to me,” I asked. “Please heal me, for I have sinned against you.”

⁵ Those who hate me only say evil things about me. “When is he going to die, and people forget all about him?” they ask.

⁶ They come to visit me, but their sympathy is not sincere. They're only interested in the bad news, which they spread around as soon as they leave.

⁷ All who hate me talk in whispers about my condition, hoping for the worst.

⁸ “He's been cursed with some terrible disease,” they say. “Now he's bed-ridden he'll never recover!”

⁹ Even my best friend, the one I trusted, who shared meals with me—even he has turned against me.

³ The Lord wil strengthen him vpon ye bed of sorow: thou hast turned al his bed in his sicknes.

⁴ Therefore I saide, Lord haue mercie vpon me: heale my soule, for I haue sinned against thee.

⁶ And if hee come to see mee, hee speaketh lies, but his heart heapeth iniquitie within him, and when he commeth foorth, he telleth it.

⁷ All they that hate me, whisper together against me: euen against me do they imagine mine hurt.

⁸ A mischiefe is light vpon him, and he that lyeth, shall no more rise.

⁹ Yea, my familiar friend, whom I trusted, which did eate of my bread, hath lifted vp the heele against me.

³ (41-4) The LORD support him upon the bed of illness; mayest Thou turn all his lying down in his sickness.

⁴ (41-5) As for me, I said: 'O LORD, be gracious unto me; heal my soul; for I have sinned against Thee.'

⁵ (41-6) Mine enemies speak evil of me: 'When shall he die, and his name perish?'

⁶ (41-7) And if one come to see me, he speaketh falsehood; his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he speaketh of it.

⁷ All mine enemies backbited privily against me; against me they thought evils to me.

⁸ They ordained an evil word against me; Whether he that sleepeth, shall not lie to, that he rise again?

⁹ For why the man of my peace, in whom I hoped, he that ate my loaves; made great deceit on me.

³ The Lord (shall) bear help to him on the bed of his sorrow; thou hast oft turned all his bedstraw in his sickness.

And then he went withoutforth; and spoke the same thing everywhere he went.)

⁸ They ordained an evil word against me; Whether he that sleepeth, shall not lie to, that he rise again? (They ordained an evil word against me; and they said, He who sleepeth, now that he lieth down, shall not rise up again.)

⁹ For why the man of my peace, in whom I hoped, he that ate my loaves; made great deceit on me. (For my friend, in whom I trusted, he who ate my bread; brought forth great deceptions, or lies, against me.)
