Psalms 35:6-10 in English

⁶ Let their way be dark and slippery, And the angel of Jehovah pursuing them.

⁷ For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit; Without cause have they digged a pit for my soul.

⁸ Let destruction come upon him unawares; And let his net that he hath hid catch himself: With destruction let him fall therein.

⁹ And my soul shall be joyful in Jehovah: It shall rejoice in his salvation.

¹⁰ All my bones shall say, Jehovah, who is like unto thee, Who deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, Yea, the poor and the needy from him that robbeth him?

⁶ O Lord, thy mercy is in the heaven; and thy truth reaches to the clouds.

⁷ Thy righteousness is as the mountains of God, thy judgments are as a great deep: O Lord, thou wilt preserve men and beasts.

⁸ How hast thou multiplied thy mercy, O God! so the children of men shall trust in the shelter of thy wings.

⁹ They shall be fully satisfied with the fatness of thine house; and thou shalt cause them to drink of the full stream of thy delights.

¹⁰ For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light we shall see light.

⁶ Cause the path on which they run to be dark and slippery as your angel pursues them!

⁷ Although I did not do anything wrong to them, they concealed a deep pit for me to fall into; they hid a net in which they would catch me.

⁸ Cause them to suddenly experience disaster! Cause them to be trapped in their own nets! Cause them to fall into the pits that they have dug for me and disappear!

⁹ Then I will be joyful about what you, Yahweh, have done for me, I will be glad that you have rescued me.

¹⁰ With my whole inner being SYN I will say, “There is no one like Yahweh RHQ! No one else can rescue helpless people from powerful people RHQ. No one else can rescue weak and needy people from those who want to rob them.”

⁸ Let destruction come on them without their knowledge; let them be taken themselves in their secret nets, falling into the same destruction.

⁹ And my soul will have joy in the Lord; it will be glad in his salvation.

¹⁰ All my bones will say, Lord, who is like you? The saviour of the poor man from the hands of the strong, of him who is poor and in need from him who takes his goods.

⁶ Let their way be dark and slippery, and let the angel of Jehovah pursue them.

⁶ O Lord, thy mercy is in heaven, and thy truth reacheth, even to the clouds.

⁷ Thy justice is as the mountains of God, thy judgments are a great deep. Men and beasts thou wilt preserve, O Lord:

⁸ O how hast thou multiplied thy mercy, O God! But the children of men shall put their trust under the covert of thy wings.

⁹ They shall be inebriated with the plenty of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the torrent of thy pleasure.

¹⁰ For with thee is the fountain of life; and in thy light we shall see light.

⁶ May their path be dark and slippery, with the angel of the Lord chasing them down.

⁷ For no reason they set a net to catch me; for no reason they dug a pit to trap me.

⁸ Let disaster come on them suddenly; let the net they set catch them instead; let the pit they dug trap them instead.

⁹ Then I will be glad in the Lord; I will be happy in his salvation.

¹⁰ Every part of me will say, Who can compare to you, Lord? You rescue the weak from the strong; the poor and needy from robbers.

⁶ Let their way be darke and slipperie: and let the Angel of the Lord persecute them.

⁷ For without cause they haue hid the pit and their net for me: without cause haue they digged a pit for my soule.

⁸ Let destruction come vpon him at vnwares, and let his net, that he hath laid priuilie, take him: let him fall into the same destruction.

⁹ Then my soule shalbe ioyfull in the Lord: it shall reioyce in his saluation.

¹⁰ All my bones shall say, Lord, who is like vnto thee, which deliuerest the poore from him, that is too strong for him! yea, the poore and him that is in miserie, from him that spoyleth him!

¹⁰ All my bones will say, Lord, who is like unto thee, who deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that robbeth him?

¹⁰ All my bones shall say, Who, O LORD! is like thee, Who dost rescue the afflicted from the oppressor, The afflicted and destitute from the spoiler?

⁶ Slippery and dark be their way, with his angel thrusting them on.

⁷ For they wantonly hid their net for me, and dug a pit to destroy me.

⁸ Upon them may ruin come unawares; may the net which they hid catch themselves, and into the pit may they fall.

⁹ Then I will exult in the Lord, and be joyful because of his help;

¹⁰ and all my being will say, “Who, O Lord, is like you, who save the helpless from those too strong for them, the poor and the helpless from those who despoil them?”

⁶ Slippery and dark be their way, with his angel thrusting them on.

⁸ Let destruction overtake them by surprise. Let the net that they have set catch them. Let them fall into it, to their destruction.

⁹ But I will be joyful in Yahweh and rejoice in his salvation.

¹⁰ All my bones will say, “Yahweh, who is like you, who rescues the oppressed from those who are too strong for them and the poor and needy from those who try to rob them?”

¹⁰ All my bones shall say, Lord, who is like thee? Thou deliverest a poor man from the hand of his stronger; a needy man and poor from them that diversely ravish him.

⁶ Their way be made darkness, and sliderness; and the angel of the Lord pursue them. (Let their way be made dark, and slippery; and may the angel of the Lord strike them down.)

⁷ For without cause they hid to me the death of their snare; in vain they despised my soul. (For no reason, they hid their deadly snare for me or they hid their snare for me in a pit; for no reason, they despised me.)

⁸ The snare which he knoweth not come to him, and the taking which he hid take him; and fall he into the snare in that thing. (But let the snare catch him unawares, or by surprise, yea, let the trap which he himself hid, catch him; and let him fall to his own destruction in that thing.)

⁹ But my soul shall fully have joy in the Lord; and shall delight on his health. (But my soul shall have full out joy, or shall rejoice, in the Lord; and it shall delight in his salvation, or in his deliverance.)

¹⁰ All my bones shall say, Lord, who is like thee? Thou deliverest a poor man from the hand of his stronger; a needy man and poor from them that diversely ravish him. (All my bones said, Lord, who is like thee? Thou rescuest the poor from the hands of those who be stronger; yea, the poor and the needy from those who oppress them.)

⁶ Their way is darkness and slipperiness, And a messenger of Jehovah their pursuer.

⁷ For without cause they hid for me their netpit, Without cause they digged for my soul.

⁸ Meet him doth desolation — he knoweth not, And his net that he hid catcheth him, For desolation he falleth into it.

⁹ And my soul is joyful in Jehovah, It rejoiceth in His salvation.

¹⁰ All my bones say, 'Jehovah, who is like Thee, Delivering the poor from the stronger than he, And the poor and needy from his plunderer.'
