Psalms 35:4-7 in English

⁴ Let them be put to shame and brought to dishonor that seek after my soul: Let them be turned back and confounded that devise my hurt.

⁵ Let them be as chaff before the wind, And the angel of Jehovah driving them on.

⁶ Let their way be dark and slippery, And the angel of Jehovah pursuing them.

⁷ For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit; Without cause have they digged a pit for my soul.

⁴ The words of his mouth are transgression and deceit: he is not inclined to understand how to do good.

⁵ He devises iniquity on his bed; he gives himself to every evil way; and does not abhor evil.

⁶ O Lord, thy mercy is in the heaven; and thy truth reaches to the clouds.

⁷ Thy righteousness is as the mountains of God, thy judgments are as a great deep: O Lord, thou wilt preserve men and beasts.

⁷ How have you multiplied your mercy, O God! so the children of men shall trust in the shelter of your wings.

⁴ Let them be ashamed and brought to dishonour that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and confounded that devise my hurt.

⁵ Let them be as chaff before the wind, and the angel of the LORD driving them on.

⁶ Let their way be dark and slippery, and the angel of the LORD pursuing them.

⁷ For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, without cause have they digged a pit for my soul.

⁴ Cause those who are trying to kill me to be defeated and disgraced! Cause those who are planning to do evil things to me to be pushed back and become confused!

⁵ Send your angel to pursue them, and as a result cause them to disappear like chaff/straw blown away by the wind!

⁶ Cause the path on which they run to be dark and slippery as your angel pursues them!

⁷ Although I did not do anything wrong to them, they concealed a deep pit for me to fall into; they hid a net in which they would catch me.

⁴ Let them be overcome and put to shame who make attempts to take my soul; let those who would do me damage be turned back and made foolish.

⁵ Let them be like dust from the grain before the wind; let the angel of the Lord send them in flight.

⁶ Let their way be dark and full of danger; let them be troubled by the angel of the Lord.

⁷ For without cause they have put a net ready for me secretly, in which to take my soul.

⁴ Let them be put to shame and confounded that seek after my life; let them be turned backward and brought to confusion that devise my hurt:

⁵ Let them be as chaff before the wind, and let the angel of Jehovah drive them away;

⁶ Let their way be dark and slippery, and let the angel of Jehovah pursue them.

⁷ For without cause have they hidden for me their net in a pit; without cause they have digged it for my soul.

⁴ The words of his mouth are iniquity and guile: he would not understand that he might do well.

⁵ He hath devised iniquity on his bed, he hath set himself on every way that is not good: but evil he hath not hated.

⁶ O Lord, thy mercy is in heaven, and thy truth reacheth, even to the clouds.

⁷ Thy justice is as the mountains of God, thy judgments are a great deep. Men and beasts thou wilt preserve, O Lord:

⁴ Shame them! Humiliate those who are trying to kill me! Turn them back! Disgrace those who are planning to hurt me!

⁵ Let them be like chaff blown by the wind; let the angel of the Lord drive them away.

⁶ May their path be dark and slippery, with the angel of the Lord chasing them down.

⁷ For no reason they set a net to catch me; for no reason they dug a pit to trap me.

⁴ Let them be confounded and put to shame, that seeke after my soule: let them be turned backe, and brought to confusion, that imagine mine hurt.

⁵ Let them be as chaffe before the winde, and let the Angel of the Lord scatter them.

⁶ Let their way be darke and slipperie: and let the Angel of the Lord persecute them.

⁷ For without cause they haue hid the pit and their net for me: without cause haue they digged a pit for my soule.

⁴ Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion that seek after my soul; let them be turned back and be abashed that devise my hurt.

⁵ Let them be as chaff before the wind, the angel of the LORD thrusting them.

⁶ Let their way be dark and slippery, the angel of the LORD pursuing them.

⁷ For without cause have they hid for me the pit, even their net, without cause have they digged for my soul.

⁵ As chaff before wind may they be, with the Lord's angel pursuing them.

⁶ Slippery and dark be their way, with his angel thrusting them on.

⁷ For they wantonly hid their net for me, and dug a pit to destroy me.

⁴ Dishonor and shame be on those who are seeking my life! Defeat and confusion on those who are planning my hurt!

⁵ Be they made as dust before the face of the wind; and the angel of the Lord make them strait.

⁶ Their way be made darkness, and sliderness; and the angel of the Lord pursue them.

⁷ For without cause they hid to me the death of their snare; in vain they despised my soul.

⁴ They that seek my life; be shamed, and ashamed. They that think evils to me; be turned away backward, and be they shamed. (Let those who seek my life; be shamed, and ashamed. Let those who plot evil against me; be turned back, and be shamed.)

⁵ Be they made as dust before the face of the wind; and the angel of the Lord make them strait. (Let them be made like the dust in the wind; and let the angel of the Lord pursue them.)

⁶ Their way be made darkness, and sliderness; and the angel of the Lord pursue them. (Let their way be made dark, and slippery; and may the angel of the Lord strike them down.)

⁷ For without cause they hid to me the death of their snare; in vain they despised my soul. (For no reason, they hid their deadly snare for me or they hid their snare for me in a pit; for no reason, they despised me.)

⁴ They are ashamed and blush, those seeking my soul, Turned backward and confounded, Those devising my evil.

⁵ They are as chaff before wind, And a messenger of Jehovah driving away.

⁶ Their way is darkness and slipperiness, And a messenger of Jehovah their pursuer.

⁷ For without cause they hid for me their netpit, Without cause they digged for my soul.
