³ Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that pursue me: Say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.

⁴ Let them be put to shame and brought to dishonor that seek after my soul: Let them be turned back and confounded that devise my hurt.

⁵ Let them be as chaff before the wind, And the angel of Jehovah driving them on.

⁶ Let their way be dark and slippery, And the angel of Jehovah pursuing them.

⁷ For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit; Without cause have they digged a pit for my soul.

⁸ Let destruction come upon him unawares; And let his net that he hath hid catch himself: With destruction let him fall therein.

⁹ And my soul shall be joyful in Jehovah: It shall rejoice in his salvation.

¹⁰ All my bones shall say, Jehovah, who is like unto thee, Who deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, Yea, the poor and the needy from him that robbeth him?

³ For he has dealt craftily before him, to discover his iniquity and hate it.

⁴ The words of his mouth are transgression and deceit: he is not inclined to understand how to do good.

⁵ He devises iniquity on his bed; he gives himself to every evil way; and does not abhor evil.

⁶ O Lord, thy mercy is in the heaven; and thy truth reaches to the clouds.

⁷ Thy righteousness is as the mountains of God, thy judgments are as a great deep: O Lord, thou wilt preserve men and beasts.

⁸ How hast thou multiplied thy mercy, O God! so the children of men shall trust in the shelter of thy wings.

⁹ They shall be fully satisfied with the fatness of thine house; and thou shalt cause them to drink of the full stream of thy delights.

¹⁰ For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light we shall see light.

³ Lift up your spear DOU and throw it at those who pursue me! Promise me that you will enable me to defeat my enemies.

⁴ Cause those who are trying to kill me to be defeated and disgraced! Cause those who are planning to do evil things to me to be pushed back and become confused!

⁵ Send your angel to pursue them, and as a result cause them to disappear like chaff/straw blown away by the wind!

⁶ Cause the path on which they run to be dark and slippery as your angel pursues them!

⁷ Although I did not do anything wrong to them, they concealed a deep pit for me to fall into; they hid a net in which they would catch me.

⁸ Cause them to suddenly experience disaster! Cause them to be trapped in their own nets! Cause them to fall into the pits that they have dug for me and disappear!

⁹ Then I will be joyful about what you, Yahweh, have done for me, I will be glad that you have rescued me.

¹⁰ With my whole inner being SYN I will say, “There is no one like Yahweh RHQ! No one else can rescue helpless people from powerful people RHQ. No one else can rescue weak and needy people from those who want to rob them.”

⁴ Let them be overcome and put to shame who make attempts to take my soul; let those who would do me damage be turned back and made foolish.

⁵ Let them be like dust from the grain before the wind; let the angel of the Lord send them in flight.

⁶ Let their way be dark and full of danger; let them be troubled by the angel of the Lord.

⁷ For without cause they have put a net ready for me secretly, in which to take my soul.

⁸ Let destruction come on them without their knowledge; let them be taken themselves in their secret nets, falling into the same destruction.

⁹ And my soul will have joy in the Lord; it will be glad in his salvation.

¹⁰ All my bones will say, Lord, who is like you? The saviour of the poor man from the hands of the strong, of him who is poor and in need from him who takes his goods.

¹⁰ All my bones shall say, Jehovah, who is like unto thee, who deliverest the afflicted from one stronger than he, yea, the afflicted and the needy from him that spoileth him!

³ For in his sight he hath done deceitfully, that his iniquity may be found unto hatred.

⁴ The words of his mouth are iniquity and guile: he would not understand that he might do well.

⁵ He hath devised iniquity on his bed, he hath set himself on every way that is not good: but evil he hath not hated.

⁶ O Lord, thy mercy is in heaven, and thy truth reacheth, even to the clouds.

⁷ Thy justice is as the mountains of God, thy judgments are a great deep. Men and beasts thou wilt preserve, O Lord:

⁸ O how hast thou multiplied thy mercy, O God! But the children of men shall put their trust under the covert of thy wings.

⁹ They shall be inebriated with the plenty of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the torrent of thy pleasure.

¹⁰ For with thee is the fountain of life; and in thy light we shall see light.

³ Draw your spear and your javelin, confront those who are chasing me. Tell me, “I am your salvation!”

⁴ Shame them! Humiliate those who are trying to kill me! Turn them back! Disgrace those who are planning to hurt me!

⁵ Let them be like chaff blown by the wind; let the angel of the Lord drive them away.

⁶ May their path be dark and slippery, with the angel of the Lord chasing them down.

⁷ For no reason they set a net to catch me; for no reason they dug a pit to trap me.

⁸ Let disaster come on them suddenly; let the net they set catch them instead; let the pit they dug trap them instead.

⁹ Then I will be glad in the Lord; I will be happy in his salvation.

¹⁰ Every part of me will say, Who can compare to you, Lord? You rescue the weak from the strong; the poor and needy from robbers.

³ Bring out also the speare and stop the way against them, that persecute me: say vnto my soule, I am thy saluation.

⁴ Let them be confounded and put to shame, that seeke after my soule: let them be turned backe, and brought to confusion, that imagine mine hurt.

⁵ Let them be as chaffe before the winde, and let the Angel of the Lord scatter them.

⁶ Let their way be darke and slipperie: and let the Angel of the Lord persecute them.

⁷ For without cause they haue hid the pit and their net for me: without cause haue they digged a pit for my soule.

⁸ Let destruction come vpon him at vnwares, and let his net, that he hath laid priuilie, take him: let him fall into the same destruction.

⁹ Then my soule shalbe ioyfull in the Lord: it shall reioyce in his saluation.

¹⁰ All my bones shall say, Lord, who is like vnto thee, which deliuerest the poore from him, that is too strong for him! yea, the poore and him that is in miserie, from him that spoyleth him!

³ Draw out also the spear, and the battle-axe, against them that pursue me; say unto my soul: 'I am Thy salvation.'

⁴ Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion that seek after my soul; let them be turned back and be abashed that devise my hurt.

⁵ Let them be as chaff before the wind, the angel of the LORD thrusting them.

⁸ May unforeseen destruction come upon them! May the snare which they have laid lay hold on themselves, And may they fall into destruction!

⁹ Then shall my soul rejoice in the LORD; It shall exult in his protection.

¹⁰ All my bones shall say, Who, O LORD! is like thee, Who dost rescue the afflicted from the oppressor, The afflicted and destitute from the spoiler?

³ Draw spear and battle-axe, confront those who pursue me. Assure me that you will help me.

⁴ Dishonour and shame be on those who are seeking my life! Defeat and confusion on those who are planning my hurt!

⁵ As chaff before wind may they be, with the Lord's angel pursuing them.

⁶ Slippery and dark be their way, with his angel thrusting them on.

⁷ For they wantonly hid their net for me, and dug a pit to destroy me.

⁸ Upon them may ruin come unawares; may the net which they hid catch themselves, and into the pit may they fall.

⁹ Then I will exult in the Lord, and be joyful because of his help;

¹⁰ and all my being will say, “Who, O Lord, is like you, who save the helpless from those too strong for them, the poor and the helpless from those who despoil them?”

⁴ They that seek my life; be shamed, and ashamed. They that think evils to me; be turned away backward, and be they shamed.

⁵ Be they made as dust before the face of the wind; and the angel of the Lord make them strait.

⁶ Their way be made darkness, and sliderness; and the angel of the Lord pursue them.

⁷ For without cause they hid to me the death of their snare; in vain they despised my soul.

⁸ The snare which he knoweth not come to him, and the taking which he hid take him; and fall he into the snare in that thing.

⁹ But my soul shall fully have joy in the Lord; and shall delight on his health.

¹⁰ All my bones shall say, Lord, who is like thee? Thou deliverest a poor man from the hand of his stronger; a needy man and poor from them that diversely ravish him.

³ Shed out the sword/Hold out the sword, and close (al)together (the way) against them that pursue me; say thou to my soul, I am thine health. (Draw out the sword, and close up the way against those who persecute me; say thou to me, I am thy salvation, or thy deliverance.)

⁴ They that seek my life; be shamed, and ashamed. They that think evils to me; be turned away backward, and be they shamed. (Let those who seek my life; be shamed, and ashamed. Let those who plot evil against me; be turned back, and be shamed.)

⁵ Be they made as dust before the face of the wind; and the angel of the Lord make them strait. (Let them be made like the dust in the wind; and let the angel of the Lord pursue them.)

⁶ Their way be made darkness, and sliderness; and the angel of the Lord pursue them. (Let their way be made dark, and slippery; and may the angel of the Lord strike them down.)

⁷ For without cause they hid to me the death of their snare; in vain they despised my soul. (For no reason, they hid their deadly snare for me or they hid their snare for me in a pit; for no reason, they despised me.)

⁸ The snare which he knoweth not come to him, and the taking which he hid take him; and fall he into the snare in that thing. (But let the snare catch him unawares, or by surprise, yea, let the trap which he himself hid, catch him; and let him fall to his own destruction in that thing.)

⁹ But my soul shall fully have joy in the Lord; and shall delight on his health. (But my soul shall have full out joy, or shall rejoice, in the Lord; and it shall delight in his salvation, or in his deliverance.)

¹⁰ All my bones shall say, Lord, who is like thee? Thou deliverest a poor man from the hand of his stronger; a needy man and poor from them that diversely ravish him. (All my bones said, Lord, who is like thee? Thou rescuest the poor from the hands of those who be stronger; yea, the poor and the needy from those who oppress them.)

³ And draw out spear and lance, To meet my pursuers. Say to my soul, 'Thy salvation I am.'

⁴ They are ashamed and blush, those seeking my soul, Turned backward and confounded, Those devising my evil.

⁵ They are as chaff before wind, And a messenger of Jehovah driving away.

⁶ Their way is darkness and slipperiness, And a messenger of Jehovah their pursuer.

⁷ For without cause they hid for me their netpit, Without cause they digged for my soul.

⁸ Meet him doth desolation — he knoweth not, And his net that he hid catcheth him, For desolation he falleth into it.

⁹ And my soul is joyful in Jehovah, It rejoiceth in His salvation.

¹⁰ All my bones say, 'Jehovah, who is like Thee, Delivering the poor from the stronger than he, And the poor and needy from his plunderer.'
