¹⁴ I behaved myself as though it had been my friend or my brother: I bowed down mourning, as one that bewaileth his mother.

¹⁵ But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together: The abjects gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; They did tear me, and ceased not:

¹⁶ Like the profane mockers in feasts, They gnashed upon me with their teeth.

¹⁷ Lord, how long wilt thou look on? Rescue my soul from their destructions, My darling from the lions.

¹⁸ I will give thee thanks in the great assembly: I will praise thee among much people.

¹⁹ Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me; Neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause.

²⁰ For they speak not peace; But they devise deceitful words against them that are quiet in the land.

²¹ Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me; They said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it.

²² Thou hast seen it, O Jehovah; keep not silence: O Lord, be not far from me.

²³ Stir up thyself, and awake to the justice due unto me, Even unto my cause, my God and my Lord.

²⁴ Judge me, O Jehovah my God, according to thy righteousness; And let them not rejoice over me.

²⁵ Let them not say in their heart, Aha, so would we have it: Let them not say, We have swallowed him up.

²⁶ Let them be put to shame and confounded together that rejoice at my hurt: Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor that magnify themselves against me.

²⁷ Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favor my righteous cause: Yea, let them say continually, Jehovah be magnified, Who hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.

¹⁴ I mourned and bowed my head as I prayed as though it was a friend or my mother for whom I was grieving.

¹⁵ But when I had troubles, they were all happy about it. They gathered around to make fun of me. Strangers struck me, and they would not stop.

¹⁶ Worthless people ridicule me and snarl at me.

¹⁷ Yahweh, how long will you only watch them doing this? Rescue me from their attacking me; Save me from being killed by these men who are attacking me like MET lions that are attacking other animals

¹⁸ Then, when many of your people gather, I will praise you and I will thank you in front of all of them.

¹⁹ Do not allow my enemies, who tell lies about me, defeat me and then rejoice! Do not allow those who hate me when there in no reason to hate me to ◄smirk/smile happily►!

²⁰ They do not talk peacefully to people; instead, they seek ways to tell lies about people who are peaceful.

²¹ They shout at me, to accuse me, saying, “We saw the wrong things that you did!”

²² Yahweh, you have seen these things, so do not be silent! Do not stay far from me!

²³ Arise, my God, and plead my case in court, and successfully defend me!

²⁴ Yahweh, my God, because you are righteous, prove that I am innocent in order that my enemies will not be able to gloat that I was judged to be guilty.

²⁵ Do not allow them to be able to say to themselves, “Yes, we have gotten rid of him IDM just like we desired!”

²⁶ Cause those who rejoice about my misfortunes to be completely defeated and disgraced; cause those who boast that they are much greater than me to be disgraced and dishonored!

²⁷ But cause those who desire that I be acquitted to be happy and shout joyfully, and cause them to continually say, “Yahweh is great! He is delighted to cause things to go well for those who serve him.”

²⁶ Let them be disappointed and confounded together who rejoice at my calamity. Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor who magnify themselves against me.

²⁷ Let those who favor my righteous cause shout for joy and be glad. Yes, let them say continually, “May Yahweh be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of his servant!”

¹⁴ My behaviour was as if it had been my friend or my brother: I was bent low in grief like one whose mother is dead.

¹⁵ But they took pleasure in my trouble, and came together, yes, low persons came together against me without my knowledge; they never came to an end of wounding me.

¹⁶ Like men of deceit they put me to shame; the voice of their wrath was loud against me.

¹⁷ Lord, how long will you be looking on? take my soul from their destruction, my life from the lions.

¹⁸ I will give you praise in the great meeting; I will give you honour among a strong people.

¹⁹ Do not let my haters be glad over me falsely; let not those who are against me without cause make sport of me.

²⁰ For they do not say words of peace; in their deceit they are designing evil things against the quiet ones in the land.

²¹ Their mouths were open wide against me, and they said, Aha, aha, our eyes have seen it.

²² You have seen this, O Lord; be not unmoved: O Lord, be not far from me.

²³ Be awake, O Lord, be moved to take up my cause, my God and my Lord.

²⁴ Be my judge, O Lord my God, in your righteousness; do not let them be glad over me.

²⁵ Let them not say in their hearts, So we will have it: let them not say, We have put an end to him.

²⁶ Let all those who take pleasure in my troubles be shamed and come to nothing: let those who are lifted up against me be covered with shame and have no honour.

²⁷ Let those who are on my side give cries of joy; let them ever say, The Lord be praised, for he has pleasure in the peace of his servant.

¹⁵ But at my halting they rejoiced, and gathered together: the slanderers gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and ceased not:

¹⁶ With profane jesters for bread, they have gnashed their teeth against me.

¹⁷ Lord, how long wilt thou look on? Rescue my soul from their destructions, my only one from the young lions.

¹⁸ I will give thee thanks in the great congregation; I will praise thee among much people.

¹⁹ Let not them that are wrongfully mine enemies rejoice over me; let them not wink with the eye that hate me without cause.

²⁰ For they speak not peace; and they devise deceitful words against the quiet in the land.

²⁶ Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine adversity; let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against me.

²⁷ Let them exult and rejoice that delight in my righteousness; and let them say continually, Jehovah be magnified, who delighteth in the prosperity of his servant.

¹⁴ I was upset for them, as if they were my own friends or family; I bowed down in grief as if I was mourning my own mother.

¹⁵ But when I was in trouble, they gathered around and laughed at me. Even strangers I don't know attacked me, constantly tearing me apart.

¹⁶ Like irreligious people mocking a cripple they mock me and call me names, gnashing their teeth at me.

¹⁷ How long, Lord, will you sit by and just watch? Save me from their vicious attacks; defend the only life I have from these lions.

¹⁸ Then I will thank you in front of the whole congregation and praise you in front of all the people.

¹⁹ Don't let my enemies take pleasure in my troubles, those people who hate me and tell lies about me, gloating over me for no reason.

²⁰ They are not looking for peace; they invent malicious and deceptive schemes against innocent peace-loving people.

²¹ They open their mouths wide to make accusations against me, saying, “Look! Look! We saw it with our own eyes!”

²² But Lord, you've seen all this! Say something! Don't give up on me, Lord!

²³ Wake up! Get up and defend me, my Lord and my God! Take up my case and make sure justice is done!

²⁴ Vindicate me, my Lord and my God, because you are just and right. Don't let them gloat over me.

²⁵ Don't let them say to themselves, “Look! We got what we wanted!” Don't let them say, “We completely destroyed him!”

²⁶ Make them totally ashamed, all those who are happy for the trouble I'm in. Let those who are celebrating over me be covered with shame and dishonor.

²⁷ Instead let those who are pleased I've been vindicated celebrate and shout for joy. Let them always say, “How great is the Lord! He is happy when his servants live in peace and have what they need.”

¹⁴ I behaued my selfe as to my friend, or as to my brother: I humbled my selfe, mourning as one that bewaileth his mother.

¹⁵ But in mine aduersitie they reioyced, and gathered them selues together: the abiects assembled themselues against me, and knewe not: they tare me and ceased not,

¹⁶ With the false skoffers at bankets, gnashing their teeth against me.

¹⁷ Lord, how long wilt thou beholde this? deliuer my soule from their tumult, euen my desolate soule from the lions.

¹⁸ So will I giue thee thankes in a great Congregation: I will praise thee among much people.

¹⁹ Let not them that are mine enemies, vniustly reioyce ouer mee, neyther let them winke with the eye, that hate mee without a cause.

²⁰ For they speake not as friendes: but they imagine deceitfull woordes against the quiet of the lande.

²¹ And they gaped on mee with their mouthes, saying, Aha, aha, our eye hath seene.

²² Thou hast seene it, O Lord: keepe not silence: be not farre from me, O Lord.

²³ Arise and wake to my iudgement, euen to my cause, my God, and my Lord.

²⁴ Iudge me, O Lord my God, according to thy righteousnesse, and let them not reioyce ouer mee.

²⁵ Let them not say in their hearts, O our soule reioyce: neither let them say, We haue deuoured him.

²⁶ Let them bee confounded, and put to shame together, that reioyce at mine hurt: let them bee clothed with confusion and shame, that lift vp themselues against me.

²⁷ But let them be ioyful and glad, that loue my righteousnesse: yea, let them say alway, Let the Lord be magnified, which loueth the prosperitie of his seruant.

²⁶ Let them be ashamed and abashed together that rejoice at my hurt; let them be clothed with shame and confusion that magnify themselves against me.

²⁷ Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that delight in my righteousness; yea, let them say continually: 'Magnified be the LORD, who delighteth in the peace of His servant.'

¹⁶ With hypocritical babbling mockers, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.

¹⁷ O Lord, how long wilt thou look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, from the young lions my solitary spirit.

¹⁸ I will thank thee in the great assembly: among a mighty people will I praise thee.

¹⁹ Let not rejoice over me those that are my enemies wrongfully: nor let those who hate me without cause wink with the eye.

²⁰ For they speak not peace; but against the quiet in the land they devise deceitful words.

²¹ Yea, they opened wide against me their mouth; they said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it.

²² Thou hast seen it, O Lord! remain not silent: O Lord, be not far from me.

²³ Arouse thyself, and awake to do me justice, my God and my Lord, unto my cause.

²⁴ Judge me according to thy righteousness, O Lord my God; and let them not rejoice over me.

²⁵ Let them not say in their heart, Aha, this is the wish of our soul: let them not say, We have swallowed him up.

²⁶ Let those be made ashamed and put to the blush together that rejoice at my mishap; let them be clothed with shame and confusion that magnify themselves above me.

²⁷ Let those shout, and rejoice, that desire my righteousness: yea, let them say continually, Great is the Lord, who desireth the welfare of his servant.

¹⁴ I behaved myself as if he had been my friend or brother; I bowed down in sadness, as one mourning for his mother.

¹⁵ But at my fall they rejoice, and gather themselves together; Revilers whom I know not assemble themselves against me; They tear me without ceasing.

¹⁶ With base men who mock for their bread, They gnash at me with their teeth.

¹⁷ How long, O LORD! wilt thou look on? O rescue my life from the destruction they plot for me; My precious life from these young lions!

¹⁸ I will thank thee in the great assembly! Before a numerous people I will praise thee.

¹⁹ Let not them that are my enemies wrongfully triumph over me; Let them not wink with the eye, who hate me without cause!

²⁰ For they speak not peace; They devise deceit against them that are quiet in the land.

²¹ Yea, they open their mouths wide against me; They say, “Aha, aha! our eyes seeth it.”

²² Thou seest it, O LORD! be not silent! O LORD! be not far from me!

²³ Arouse thyself; awake for my defence! My God and my Lord, awake to my cause!

²⁴ Judge me according to thy righteousness, O Jehovah, my God! Let them not triumph over me!

²⁵ Let them not say in their hearts, “Aha! we have our wish!” Let them not say, “We have swallowed him up!”

²⁶ May they all be confounded and brought to shame, Who rejoice at my calamity! May they be clothed with ignominy and disgrace, Who exalt themselves against me!

²⁷ Let them shout for joy, and be glad, Who favor my righteous cause; Let them ever say, “The LORD be praised, Who delighteth in the prosperity of his servant!”

¹⁴ as if for my friend or my brother. I went about bowed and in mourning, as one who laments his mother.

¹⁵ When I stumbled, they gleefully gathered, strangers gathered around me, and tore at me without ceasing,

¹⁶ impiously mocking and mocking, bearing their teeth at me.

¹⁷ How long, Lord, will you look on? Rescue me from their roaring, my precious life from the lions.

¹⁸ I will then give you thanks in the great congregation, and praise you before many people.

¹⁹ Suffer not those to rejoice over me who are falsely my foes, suffer not those who without cause abhor me to wink with the eye.

²⁰ For it is not peace that they speak of those who are quiet in the land; but treacherous charges they plot.

²¹ With wide open mouths they shout, “Hurrah! Hurrah! With our own eyes we saw it.”

²² But you have seen, too, O Lord, keep not silence, O Lord, be not far from me.

²³ Bestir you, awake, for my right my God, my Lord, for my cause.

²³ Rise up, and give attention to my doom; my God and my Lord, behold into my cause.

²⁴ My Lord God, deem thou me by thy rightfulness or rightwiseness; and have they not joy on me.

²⁵ Say they not in their hearts, Well, well, to our soul; neither say they, We shall devour him.

²⁶ Shame they, and dread they together; that joy for mine evils. Be they clothed with shame and dread; that speak evil things on me.

²⁷ Have they full joy, and be they glad, that will or desire my rightful-ness or rightwiseness; and say they evermore, The Lord be magnified, which desire the peace of his servant.

²² Lord, thou hast seen, be thou not still; Lord, depart thou not from me. (Lord, thou hast seen all of this, so keep thou not silent; Lord, go thou not away from me.)

²³ Rise up, and give attention to my doom; my God and my Lord, behold into my cause. (Rise up, and give me justice; my God and my Lord, (please plead) my case!)

²⁴ My Lord God, deem thou me by thy rightfulness; and have they not joy on me. (My Lord God, judge thou me by thy righteousness; and do not let them have joy over me.)

²⁵ Say they not in their hearts, Well, well, to our soul; neither say they, We shall devour him. (Let them not say in their hearts, Well, well; nor let them say, We have devoured him!)

²⁶ Shame they, and dread they together; that joy for mine evils. Be they clothed with shame and dread; that speak evil things on me. (Let them all be ashamed, and fearful; who take joy over my suffering. Let them be clothed with shame and fear; who speak evil against me.)

²⁷ Have they full joy, and be they glad, that will my rightfulness; and say they evermore, The Lord be magnified, which desire the peace of his servant. (Have they full out joy,or rejoice, and be they glad, who desire my vindication; and let them say forevermore, The Lord be magnified, who delighteth in his servant’s prosperity.)

¹⁴ As if a friend, as if my brother, I walked habitually, As a mourner for a mother, Mourning I have bowed down.

¹⁵ And — in my halting they have rejoiced, And have been gathered together, Gathered against me were the smiters, And I have not known, They have rent, and they have not ceased;

¹⁶ With profane ones, mockers in feasts, Gnashing against me their teeth.

¹⁷ Lord, how long dost thou behold? Keep back my soul from their desolations, From young lions my only one.

¹⁸ I thank Thee in a great assembly, Among a mighty people I praise Thee.

¹⁹ Mine enemies rejoice not over me with falsehood, Those hating me without cause wink the eye.

²⁰ For they speak not peace, And against the quiet of the land, Deceitful words they devise,

²¹ And they enlarge against me their mouth, They said, 'Aha, aha, our eye hath seen.'

²² Thou hast seen, O Jehovah, Be not silent, O Lord — be not far from me,

²³ Stir up, and wake to my judgment, My God, and my Lord, to my plea.

²⁴ Judge me according to Thy righteousness, O Jehovah my God, And they do not rejoice over me.

²⁵ They do not say in their heart, 'Aha, our desire.' They do not say, 'We swallowed him up.'

²⁶ They are ashamed and confounded together, Who are rejoicing at my evil. They put on shame and confusion, Who are magnifying themselves against me.

²⁷ They sing and rejoice, who are desiring my righteousness, And they say continually, 'Jehovah is magnified, Who is desiring the peace of His servant.'
