¹⁸ Jehovah is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart, And saveth such as are of a contrite spirit.

¹⁹ Many are the afflictions of the righteous; But Jehovah delivereth him out of them all.

²⁰ He keepeth all his bones: Not one of them is broken.

²¹ Evil shall slay the wicked; And they that hate the righteous shall be condemned.

¹⁸ I will give thanks to thee even in a great congregation: in an abundant people I will praise thee.

¹⁹ Let not them that are mine enemies without a cause rejoice against me; who hate me for nothing, and wink with their eyes.

²⁰ For to me they spoke peaceably, but imagined deceits in their anger.

²¹ And they opened wide their mouth upon me; they said, Aha, aha, our eyes have seen it.

¹⁹ Righteous people may have many troubles, but Yahweh rescues them from all those troubles.

²⁰ Yahweh protects them from being harmed; when their enemies attack them, they will not break any bones of those righteous people.

²¹ Wicked people will be killed by their own evil deeds (OR, by people doing to them the same evil things that the wicked do to others) PRS, and Yahweh will punish those who oppose righteous people.

¹⁹ Many tribulations be of just men; and the Lord shall deliver them from all these. (Many troubles be to the righteous; but the Lord shall rescue, or save, them out of all of them.)

²⁰ The Lord keepeth all the bones of them; one of those shall not be broken. (The Lord guardeth, or keepeth safe, all their bones; not one of them shall be broken.)

²¹ The death of sinners is worst; and they that hate a just man shall trespass. (The death of sinners is brought about by the Worst or Evil bringeth about the death of sinners; and those who hate the righteous shall be punished.)

¹⁸ Near is Jehovah to the broken of heart, And the bruised of spirit He saveth.

¹⁹ Many are the evils of the righteous, Out of them all doth Jehovah deliver him.

²⁰ He is keeping all his bones, One of them hath not been broken.

²¹ Evil doth put to death the wicked, And those hating the righteous are desolate.
