¹³ Keep thy tongue from evil, And thy lips from speaking guile.

¹⁴ Depart from evil, and do good; Seek peace, and pursue it.

¹⁵ The eyes of Jehovah are toward the righteous, And his ears are open unto their cry.

¹⁶ The face of Jehovah is against them that do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

¹⁷ The righteous cried, and Jehovah heard, And delivered them out of all their troubles.

¹⁸ Jehovah is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart, And saveth such as are of a contrite spirit.

¹⁹ Many are the afflictions of the righteous; But Jehovah delivereth him out of them all.

²⁰ He keepeth all his bones: Not one of them is broken.

²¹ Evil shall slay the wicked; And they that hate the righteous shall be condemned.

²² Jehovah redeemeth the soul of his servants; And none of them that take refuge in him shall be condemned.

¹³ But I, when they troubled me, put on sackcloth, and humbled my soul with fasting: and my prayer shall return to my own bosom.

¹⁴ I behaved agreeably towards them as if it had been our neighbour or brother: I humbled myself as one mourning and sad of countenance.

¹⁵ Yet they rejoiced against me, and plagues were plentifully brought against me, and I knew it not: they were scattered, but repented not.

¹⁶ They tempted me, they sneered at me most contemptuously, they gnashed their teeth upon me.

¹⁷ O Lord, when wilt thou look upon me? Deliver my soul from their mischief, mine only-begotten one from the lions.

¹⁸ I will give thanks to thee even in a great congregation: in an abundant people I will praise thee.

¹⁹ Let not them that are mine enemies without a cause rejoice against me; who hate me for nothing, and wink with their eyes.

²⁰ For to me they spoke peaceably, but imagined deceits in their anger.

²¹ And they opened wide their mouth upon me; they said, Aha, aha, our eyes have seen it.

²² Thou hast seen it, O Lord: keep not silence: O Lord, withdraw not thyself from me.

¹³ do not say anythoing that is evil! Do not tell lies!

¹⁴ Turn away from doing evil, and do what is good! Always try hard to enable people to live peacefully with each other.

¹⁵ Yahweh MTY carefully watches over those who act righteously; he always responds MTY to them when they call to him for help.

¹⁶ But Yahweh SYN ◄is opposed to/turns away from► those who do what is evil. And after they die, people will forget them completely.

¹⁷ Yahweh hears righteous people when they call out to him; he rescues them from all their troubles.

¹⁸ Yahweh is always ready to help those who are discouraged; he rescues those who have nothing good to hope for.

¹⁹ Righteous people may have many troubles, but Yahweh rescues them from all those troubles.

²⁰ Yahweh protects them from being harmed; when their enemies attack them, they will not break any bones of those righteous people.

²¹ Wicked people will be killed by their own evil deeds (OR, by people doing to them the same evil things that the wicked do to others) PRS, and Yahweh will punish those who oppose righteous people.

²² Yahweh will save those who serve him. He will ◄not condemn/forgive► LIT those who trust in him.

¹⁶ The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to take away the memory of them from the earth.

¹⁷ The cry of the upright comes before the Lord, and he takes them out of all their troubles.

¹⁸ The Lord is near the broken-hearted; he is the saviour of those whose spirits are crushed down.

¹⁹ Great are the troubles of the upright: but the Lord takes him safely out of them all.

²⁰ He keeps all his bones: not one of them is broken.

²¹ Evil will put an end to the sinner, and those who are haters of righteousness will come to destruction.

²² The Lord will be the saviour of the souls of his servants, and no one who has faith in him will be put to shame.

²² Jehovah redeemeth the soul of his servants; and none of them that trust in him shall bear guilt.

¹³ But as for me, when they were troublesome to me, I was clothed with haircloth. I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer shall be turned into my bosom.

¹⁴ As a neighbour and as an own brother, so did I please: as one mourning and sorrowful so was I humbled.

¹⁵ But they rejoiced against me, and came together: scourges were gathered together upon me, and I knew not.

¹⁶ They were separated, and repented not: they tempted me, they scoffed at me with scorn: they gnashed upon me with their teeth.

¹⁷ Lord, when wilt thou look upon me? rescue thou soul from their malice: my only one from the lions.

¹⁸ I will give thanks to thee in a great church; I will praise thee in a strong people.

¹⁹ Let not them that are my enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: who have hated me without cause, and wink with the eyes.

²⁰ For they spoke indeed peaceably to me; and speaking in the anger of the earth they devised guile.

²¹ And they opened their mouth wide against me; they said: Well done, well done, our eyes have seen it.

²² Thou hast seen, O Lord, be not thou silent: O Lord, depart not from me.

¹³ Then don't let your tongue speak evil, or your lips tell lies.

¹⁴ Reject what is evil, do what is good. Look for peace, and work to make it a reality.

¹⁵ The Lord watches over those who do right, and he hears when they cry for help.

¹⁶ The Lord sets himself against those who do evil. He will wipe out even the memory of them from the earth.

¹⁷ But when his people call out for help, he hears them and rescues them from all their troubles.

¹⁸ The Lord is close beside those who are broken-hearted; he saves those whose spirits are crushed.

¹⁹ Those who do right have many problems, but the Lord solves all of them.

²⁰ He keeps them safe—not a single one of their bones will be broken.

²¹ Evil kills the wicked. Those who hate good people will suffer for their wrongdoing.

²² The Lord saves the lives of his servants. Those who trust in his protection will not suffer for their wrongdoings.

¹³ Keepe thy tongue from euill, and thy lips, that they speake no guile.

¹⁴ Eschewe euill and doe good: seeke peace and follow after it.

¹⁵ The eyes of the Lord are vpon the righteous, and his eares are open vnto their crie.

¹⁶ But the face of the Lord is against them that doe euill, to cut off their remembrance from the earth.

¹⁷ The righteous crie, and the Lord heareth them, and deliuereth them out of all their troubles.

¹⁸ The Lord is neere vnto them that are of a contrite heart, and will saue such as be afflicted in Spirite.

¹⁹ Great are the troubles of the righteous: but the Lord deliuereth him out of them all.

²¹ But malice shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous, shall perish.

¹⁷ The righteous cry, and the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.

¹⁸ The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

¹⁹ Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.

²⁰ He protects all of his bones. Not one of them is broken.

²¹ Evil shall kill the wicked. Those who hate the righteous shall be condemned.

²² The LORD redeems the soul of his servants. None of those who take refuge in him shall be condemned.

¹³ Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking lies.

¹⁴ Depart from evil, and do good. Seek peace, and pursue it.

¹⁵ The LORD’s eyes are towards the righteous. His ears listen to their cry.

¹⁶ The LORD’s face is against those who do evil, to cut off their memory from the earth.

¹⁶ But the cheer of the Lord is on men doing evils; that he lose the mind the memory of them from the earth.

¹⁷ Just or rightwise men cried, and the Lord heard them; and delivered them from all their tribulations.

¹⁸ The Lord is nigh to them that be of troubled heart; and he shall save meek men in spirit.

¹⁹ Many tribulations be of just or rightwise men; and the Lord shall deliver them from all these or them.

²⁰ The Lord keepeth all the bones of them; one of those or them shall not be broken.

²¹ The death of sinners is worst; and they that hate a just or rightwise man shall trespass.

²² The Lord shall again-buy the souls of his servants; and all, that hope in him, shall not trespass.

¹⁶ But the cheer of the Lord is on men doing evils; that he lose the mind of them from the earth. (But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil; and he shall blot out the memory of them from off the earth.)

¹⁷ Just men cried or The rightwise cried, and the Lord heard them; and delivered them from all their tribulations (or and he rescued, or saved, them from all their troubles).

¹⁸ The Lord is nigh to them that be of troubled heart; and he shall save meek men in spirit. (The Lord is near to those who have a troubled heart; and he saveth those whose spirit is meek, or is humble.)

¹⁹ Many tribulations be of just men; and the Lord shall deliver them from all these. (Many troubles be to the righteous; but the Lord shall rescue, or save, them out of all of them.)

²⁰ The Lord keepeth all the bones of them; one of those shall not be broken. (The Lord guardeth, or keepeth safe, all their bones; not one of them shall be broken.)

²¹ The death of sinners is worst; and they that hate a just man shall trespass. (The death of sinners is brought about by the Worst or Evil bringeth about the death of sinners; and those who hate the righteous shall be punished.)

²² The Lord shall again-buy the souls of his servants; and all, that hope in him, shall not trespass. (But the Lord redeemeth, or ransometh, the souls of his servants; and all who trust in him, shall not go astray.)

¹⁴ Turn aside from evil and do good, Seek peace and pursue it.

¹⁵ The eyes of Jehovah are unto the righteous, And His ears unto their cry.

¹⁶ (The face of Jehovah is on doers of evil, To cut off from earth their memorial.)

¹⁷ They cried, and Jehovah heard, And from all their distresses delivered them.

¹⁸ Near is Jehovah to the broken of heart, And the bruised of spirit He saveth.

¹⁹ Many are the evils of the righteous, Out of them all doth Jehovah deliver him.

²⁰ He is keeping all his bones, One of them hath not been broken.

²¹ Evil doth put to death the wicked, And those hating the righteous are desolate.

²² Jehovah redeemeth the soul of His servants, And none trusting in Him are desolate!
